He knows that they exist, but his memories are erased each time, so the only way he knows is by context clues He probably sees something wrong with the way you look at him and papyrus. I think the fact that he doesn't remember makes it more tragic because every timeline where he fights you really is life or death to him. To us, it's just another game over or a victory
He does not know what happened thought, he probably just has a bad feeling or something like that, a dejavu, etc. He can't remember resets, like everyone else
Okay I just found this out: 1. When you first get your phone, flirt with Toriel and call her mom (in that order) 2. At the end of pacifist, talk to her in the room where the main cast is all gathered. 3. Laugh
Tori tells Sans that you once flirted with her and then asked to call her mom (insinuating a weird incestuous complex) and Sans responds ("Oooh boy") with a side-eyed glance. A very funny scene.
"After I killed you and saw you try and be nice to your brother who was dead after you wanted to seek vengence on me for ending him and the lives of almost all the people in the whole underground." "...Sans?" "Are we still friends?"
It would've been amazing if, when you do a pacifist run after almost finishing a genocide run, Flowey would encourage you through the entire pacifist run, not because of some gambit but because he's terrified that you'll kill him if you drop the pacifist run. Even better if he ends up attacking you at the end like normal but mostly out of spite because he feels like you betrayed him by giving him a goal to work toward with you after he was alone for so many years, only to drop it in favor of the pacifism & love that he no longer understands. He lost Chara when they were kids & he wouldn't kill. He lost Chara again when he was a flower & he wouldn't be peaceful so now he thinks Chara will always abandon him no matter what.
I feel like that should happen after he starts to feel scared of you which is towards the end. But if you reset before he is scared of you he reacts the same way in the video
I don’t think Sans would do that. The reason being is that he’s semi aware of the resets. He can tell you’re familiar with something he’s not. He may not know you’re the cause of his death. Or even resetting a genocide or pacifist route. Unless it’s your first play through, he will always note the odd occurrences. Flowey is the one who is 100% aware of what you’re doing. He begs you to not rest anymore in the pacifist ending so that everyone lives on happily.
He wouldn’t remember because he doesn’t have DETERMINATION. Sans is a time traveler, so he knows when you reload a save file. Flowey knows when you reset, except True Resets and when you sell your soul to replay Undertale again, because he has DETERMINATION.
I am impressed how this game took 2 years to make, and a large part of those months of game development, were putting different ways to end the game, with infinite alternative endings.
that must've been very hard for you to have to beat undyne the undying and sans just to give up. Edit: I kind of take back my statement. Both fights do get easier the more you replay them. Edit 2: generic annoying comment about thanking people for the buttload of likes.
Imagine saying to Toriel I know who’s was your husband and two children, You know sans through the door and papyrus, and telling her everything else and she’s like What the fuck
What I'm surprised wasn't in the game was new diologue if you do a Pacifist/Neutral run IMMEDIATELY after dying to Sans' mercy attack. Like Sans can tell you're looking at him oddly and claims someone must have "helped you through a bad time" or something.
I thought sans would slam you on the ground then look at your level and if it’s not the genocide requirement be like “oh sorry I thought you were someone else”
You can get all this stuff also by not killing sans. I already knew this could happen if you didn't finish a genocide because when I first tried a genocide I felt so guilty, and when sans said (after the "get dunked on" death) "if we really are friends, you won't come back", I couldn't take it anymore and just resetted. I was so surprised by the fact that Flowey acted like that, like, when he was talking at the new home he was scared of me, and when I reset he's all "why did you have to screw everything up", like, DUDE I LITERALLY SAVED YOUR LIFE, WOULD YOU MIND SHUTTING UP FOR A SECOND
Like, Toriel hecking knows. She looks in your eyes and something tells her that you saw her die. But Flowey doesn't narrate you through this time. Edit: Papyrus too?! So it's not just Sans, everyone is faintly aware of timeline changes... Also, if you kill Toriel and then go back, he mocks you for changing your mind. I only played TP, really glad everyone else finds these secrets. 💖
all of this stuff will happen even if you complete a neutral run then reset, except for the part where Sans says "here's a tip, don't fight my brother". I think he will say that if you kill Papyrus in a previous timeline.
I did this with my game, because I was so goddamn regretted after killing sans, after that I did another pacifist, making the happy ending without selling my soul and then never touching the game ever again. I didn’t know that actually completing Genocide makes your game “corrupted” at that time, thank god I didn’t finished.
So Flowey doesn't even fight you until the end this way? That is an interesting one. Even more so that in the genocide run, by the time you get to Sans and beat him, Flowey is scared to death that you were going to kill him. But you reset and he's suddenly annoyed with you for not finishing what you started. Apparently, along with kindness and love, Asriel also lost his sanity and sense of consistency when he became a flower
I think it's also because of the fact that he wants to prove that "In this world, it's kill or be killed" If you kill him after the omega flowey battle, he will get really happy before dying, as you have proven to him that he was right. In a way, he wanted to see the monster inside you
uh yeah if was like an 11 year old who had to help my sibling commit suicide and keep it a secret, only to be killed brutally and then waking up in some body horror nightmare lacking the ability to love while being granted god level powers, i'd probably lose it a little too.
I actually got this when I quit after The Undying's fight and reset, and needless to say, I was super freaked out... to this day, this game never fails to amaze me.
SilentWolf i haven’t played Undertale nor DeltaRune but the game seems fun and I feel like it’s going to be my next favorite games so I may say *SAME!*
@@inputnutria2026 You know, it would be epic if Toby designed Flowey or even Sans to call the player out on this last-minute chickening out/resetting to avoid the consequences Kinda like how Flowey taunts you for resetting to unkill Toriel
I think Toriel gives you the "Like you have seen a ghost" line for any sequence of runs where she has been killed at least once, not just missing a genocide.
Chara (A.K.A the first fallen child) : Since when you're the one in control? Me (A.K.A someone forgotten in the comments) : Never, I use my keyboard and mouse!
If Chara was the first human and killed everybody, how do they come back for frisk? And how does her soul see all the other souls when they haven't arrived yet
So... I want to point out that 80% of this is just what happens if you reset once. The Toriel response to your expression happens any time you kill her and then reset; it isn't limited to resetting after a Genocide run. The Flowey stuff is the new stuff. That doesn't make the other stuff less cool though. It just isn't from the Genocide part.
After Deltarune, Toriel being able to notice Frisk's face showing fear due to seeing her die before, is honestly really sad. I've always thought of Frisk as a vessel, and Deltarune pretty much confirmed that, while also showing it wasnt Chara's fault.

I thought sans would slam you on the ground then look at your level and if it’s not the genocide requirement be like “oh sorry I thought you were someone else”

no. sans is the only one aware of timelines, knowing that sans controls time himself. the others can just sense something within frisk.
all of this stuff will happen even if you complete a neutral run then reset, except for the part where Sans says "here's a tip, don't fight my brother". I think he will say that if you kill Papyrus in a previous timeline.

Well, yeah. Flowey’s an angry child who’s lost his soul and is trying to be edgy. I think it’s by design, personally.
I think it's also because of the fact that he wants to prove that "In this world, it's kill or be killed" If you kill him after the omega flowey battle, he will get really happy before dying, as you have proven to him that he was right. In a way, he wanted to see the monster inside you

Dillon Pollard Chara died, when you play Genocide, he....she...it uses your body as a vessel
