I really enjoy these videos. It’s great that you gear the videos towards beginners and experienced painters as well. You have found the perfect balance of explaining the basics, but you do it efficiently enough that it’s not boring for the painters who already have the knowledge and just want to see what the color mixes look like. 👍🏼
This, and many of your other comparison videos, are outstanding and exceptionally helpful in understanding and visualizing the nuances of Candy2o painting. I would encourage you to do more similar videos - 2 or more base coats, + 2 or more metallics with any of your various candy2o's and in regular and sunlight - very nice!
These videos are amazing. Is it possible to use the wicked line and aluminum base to get Metallics as well? I love the old 1950s colors like Sherwood green and daphne blue metallic. Is it possible to replicate/approximate those colors with the createx line?
There are several aluminum metallics in the Wicked Colors line, W354 Aluminum Medium, W355 Aluminum Fine & W356 Aluminum Coarse, as well as W357 Quicksilver and W358 Gold Chrome, which are billet aluminums, wickedairbrushcolors.com/pearl-and-metallic. candy2o colors work well applied over these aluminums. Additionally, standard Wicked Colors may be mixed with them to replicate OEM automotive finishes, especially W355 Aluminum Fine. When doing so, be sure to extend colors with 4030 Balancing Clear or 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear to may the Wicked Colors more transparent, createxcolors.com/reducers-additives/mixing-clears. Thank you.
FANTASTIC VIDEO !!!!!!!! I LOVE CREATEX, THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE STEP BY STEP IT REALLY REALLY HELPS. EVERYONE KEEP YOURSELVES AND LOVE ONES SAFE AND HEALTHY.
What colour sparkle did you use or does it matter, would using a green spackle make it more interesting or just look rubbish . Love your videos they are helping me heaps even in lure painting
The best way to determine how a pearl-flake mixed with candy2o will look is to make a test panel. Generally, green and red, complimentary colors, don't mix well and will look "muddied". Thank you.
A wide variety of guns can be used to spray Wicked Hot Rod Sparkle & Cosmic Sparkle Colors. We spec a 1.2mm - 1.3mm for full size guns and a 0.5mm or larger for airbrush.
candy2o Sunset Magenta over a white base such as W361 Metallic White Coarse. Another option is Wicked W026 Fluorescent Pink, which is very translucent, almost transparent like a dye-based candy2o color. When extended generously with 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear (mix 1:1), W026 Fluorescent Pink is very much like a candy color. Thank you.
@@CreatexColors noice thank you very much for the help and the awesome vids. I’ll try the magenta over the white base since I have those paints right now🤙🏽
Hot Rod Sparkle Colors differ amongst colors, but on average are ~ 188 microns. For a brandy wine candy color, use candy2o 4665 Brandywine. Thank you. www.candy2o.com
So if did 1 part cosmic and 1 part hot rod would it do something more in the middle. Giving more sparkle then oem but not as much as just hot rod. Or would it just look off?
Hot Rod Sparkle and Cosmic Sparkle pearl-flakes can mix well, but the pearl-size of the Hot Rod flake isn't diminished but rather accentuated by the Cosmic. The best way to see this is with a test spray-out or two over 6002 Sealer Black. Thank you.
I'm looking for a blurple color for my Chevy suburban, what is your paint code for this? I'm thinking of having it painted in a gold base coat....also, what is the paint code for the gold candy ?
There are 2 purples, 4659 Deep Purple and 4658 Ultra Violet, which is more blue-shade of the two. To make 4658 Ultra Violet more blue-shade, tint with 4656 Midnight Blue. All candy2o colors are easy to mix in any ratio, www.candy2o.com. Try a mix of 4658 Ultra Violet 3:1 4656 Midnight Blue. For the sprayable candy color, mix 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear 8:1 candy2o blue-shade color-mix. Thank you.
Depends, definitely make a test panel to determine coverage given your technique and set-up. A good estimate for a 2001 Suburban with door jambs, under the hood is 2-gallons sprayable candy2o, 1-gallon sprayable Wicked Metallic Gold. thanks
Showing up late to the game, as usual…lol…. Now, what’s with all the hate towards bass boat flake? Hahahaaa….us old guys love the excessive metal flake. Great job on showing the differences. Thanks man!
Gorgeous colors. In the sun it looks like a plum color over the charcoal.
Thanks for watching!

Thank you, same for you.
Thanks for another great video Chris! 👍🏻👍🏻
thanks
Great information again Chris. What would be the mix ratio for airbrush application?
For airbrush, thin a bit more with 4011 Reducer (~ 20% per volume), otherwise, the mix ratio is about the same. Thank you.

Awesome video Chris
Thank you!
so awesome how you get different effects by only changing the base coat like that
Thanks, glad to hear this video was helpful showing how different candy colors look over differing metallic bases.
Man those both look really good!
Thank you!
Great stuff Chris! Can you direct me as to what type of gun, or needle size is used to spray flake? Thanks

Is there a way to get a candy pink color? I only got your candy 2o colors but wanted to mix a pink with it thanks. Love your guys paint 🤙🏽

What is the item number for the gold base please sir? Great vid as well!!
W350 Wicked Metallic Gold, wickedairbrushcolors.com/pearl-and-metallic. Thank you for watching!
The four coat over the charcoal is a great cranberry color
Thanks for the feedback and for watching.
Hey Chris, what would be the best way to
get a completely black look with a red pearl shift under sunlight?
Murdered Candy - featuring candy2o Black over candy2o Blood Red & W425 Hot Rod Sparkle Red, ua-cam.com/video/mobBb9WeHLI/v-deo.html. Thank you.
Hey Chris, Exactly how big is the diameter of the flake in hotrod sparkle? And do you make a brandy wine candy?

Hi Chris
Is there a primer base under the metallic gold or charcoal grey?
I’m thinking about using this method on a plastic car model. Thanks
AutoBorne 6003 Sealer Grey was used as the base for the Metallic Gold and Charcoal. Sealer 6002 Black could also be used. Thank you.
Chris which colors hot rod sparkle and cosmic sparkle did you use as i know createx has different color pearls in both lines.
W425 Hot Rod Sparkle Red & W442 Cosmic Sparkle Red, thank you. wickedairbrushcolors.com/pearl-flakes
Would you recommend the same mix for use in an airbrush?
Yes, with a bit more thinning with 5011 Reducer. Thank you.
