- Chris Arpin demonstrates how to mix Createx candy2o Caribe Blue with Sunset Magenta to make a red-shade blue called Candy Bluberry. For an added effect. Chris next shows how adding a cat or two of Wicked Flair Blue / Magenta creates a glowing candy-pearl similar to the original Sparklescent Nightmare Blue.

thank you
Thank you!😊
De Nada!
Great video Chris! Would like to see the color over the quick silver!
Thanks, we do plan an anodized candy (over Quicksilver) video in the future. we'll include this color.
Sweet video bro...
thank you
Violet Blue!
I would like to see a dark, almost black, purple over silver.
Try a test panel applying candy2o 4658 Ultra Violet over AutoBorne 6013 Silver Sealer. This color is displayed in our candy2o color chart video, ua-cam.com/video/svPIxC1mUHE/v-deo.html. Thank you.
Nice Video, Chris! 🙌🏻 The color reminds me of the old Auto Air Sparklecent Nightmare Blue. Used that on a Red Bull project and it turned out dope 👌🏻
Thanks for watching!
hey there to createx, love your colours. how can i get a light champaigne metallic which colours as base and which o2 candy. do i have to mix gloss with a bit of gold maybe? is there a better way to get champaigne colour? thanks and regards
Hi Chris. Thanks for another great Candy colour mixing tutorial. I have some creative ideas and would really like to put a spin on the classic British Racing Green by making it a Candy. Please could you help me with this and your recommendation on how to mix the Classic colour. Thanks for your help 😀
A candy British racing green could be made using 4661 Emerald Green as the base color, and tinting it with 4652 tequila Yellow, adding 4652 anywhere from 5% to 25% per volume. Make a few test panels over 6013 Silver Sealer, adding Tequila Yellow in increments of about 5% per volume until the desired color is achieved. It could be a mix of 4661 4:1 4652 works well, however you may wish less 4652 in that mix. As Emerald Green is a strong color, extend this mix generously with 4050 UVLS Gloss Clear, such as 4050 8:1 candy green mix. Thank you.
@@CreatexColors Thank you very much for your help it’s much appreciated 😀
Hey Chris, had an idea. Is there any work on a gold sealer similar to the silver? Just thinking it could save time. Love the color. That really pops!
Not Yet, but one is in the works. Thank you.
Really enjoy your videos Chris. Definitely see the passion in each video you do. I know you mentioned using 2K as a gloss coat. Would using the 4040 Bleed Checker and then the 4053 over that be something that would produce a solid result since I don't have the 2K?
We do not recommend 4053 as a top-coat for candy2o, even if 4040 Bleed Checker is first applied, as a 2k gloss clear is much better for stopping any dyes from leaching into the clear, which even at minute amounts, takes away from the gloss level. Please make a test panel to compare the results versus using a 2k gloss clear. Thank you.
Awesome color. I have plans for that one! Okay, so I have a client that wants a candy hot pink guitar. Is there any way to mix that? I keep going over color theory based on the candy20 colors you offer but I can't figure out a way to mix it...
Try 4561 candy2o Magenta over W361 Metallic White. optional would be tinting candy2o Magenta with Wicked W029 Fluorescent Hot Pink. Try a few test panels experimenting with possible mix ratios. Thank you.
@@CreatexColors Thanks. I will try that. I could get hot pink candy in solvent paint, but I have bee using water-based paint so long, I just don't want to go back to solvent paint again.
Can you mix the candy and 4050 and keep it in a bottle for a few days as long as its not reduced?
Yes, so long as capped air tight and 4011 Reducer (or other reducers) is not added, 4050 UVLS Gloss and candy2o can be mixed and stored indefinitely. Thank you.
Can you do a video with caribe blue mixed with a dash of poison green and a 2nd with Poison green with a dash of caribe blue. Im looking for a greenish blue and a blueish green.
4657 Caribe Blue with a green added is a teal, similar to 4666 Tealiscous. In our recent Wicked W017 Gloss White & W018 Gloss Black video, 4657 Caribe Blue is applied over W358 Gold Chrome, making an anodized teal candy color you may like, ua-cam.com/video/LPkIIwiSUCs/v-deo.html. Try a few test panels experimenting with making a teal candy with the above colors you wish to mix. Thank you.
Hell yeah you just provided the missing link to the 2001 FXR rebuild.
Awesome!
would a quick silver base work ok??? I don't have any silver sealer....also.....I don't have access to the 2k clear....what if I did 2 coats of bleed checker then the 4053 gloss???
W357 Quicksilver could be used as a base, making more of an anodized blueberry candy. Apply W357 over W018 Gloss Black. Thank you.
@@CreatexColors thanks...I appreciate that
Is 4 coats of candy usually good to get the full depth of color? Thanks.
It depends on the actual color, application method and other factors. Best method is to make a test panel. Thank you.
Did you just use that amount of 4050 for quantity because of spray out? Other videos the ratios where different.
4050 can be added to candy2o in any ratio. While we have a general guideline of 4050 6:1 candy2o, for some candy2o colors, such as 4661 Emerald Green, do better at 4050 8:1 or 10:1 candy2o. Color type, technique and preference guide the mix ratio. What's important is achieving uniform coverage, best achieved by applying multiple coats with the candy2o often extended so its doesn't build up too fast. If in doubt, use more 4050 in the mixture. Thank you.
I paint r.c bodies so I paint the inside of the body can the candy be used with say a matte base instead of the gloss since I paint in reverse steps will the candy bleed through the matte clear
There's a video that they specifically did about painting candy in reverse on rc car bodies ua-cam.com/video/Z2oNSUkpWN8/v-deo.html
We recently made a how-to candy paint a RC car body video that you may find helpful, thank you, ua-cam.com/video/Z2oNSUkpWN8/v-deo.html
