Shara Woodshop Diaries You actually encourage me! I think I can do this after watching your video. I can’t believe how strong you are! That wood is heavy.🤗
Hi Shara and many congrats on reaching 100k I just finished making my version of this sideboard, nowhere near as good as yours but great for my home. Thanks so much for sharing and for the plans, you're a true inspiration. Please do keep the videos coming
This is exactly what I need! It is perfect! I just realized I'm not subscribed. I just wanted to say that you are incredibly talented and creative. I really admire your work and I'm happy that you're willing to share with the world. Thank you Shara!
Shara, been looking for a bedroom set for my son, just found it, your bed, matching nightstands and 5 drawer dresser are awesome. I will be building this complete set soon. Thanks for your videos, they are both enjoyable and informative.
This was very helpful. I have been puzzling over how to build a cabinet set like this with a top that is to some degree separate from the underlying carcasses. Your design fits my needs perfectly. Thanks a million!
Beautiful, creative AND industrious..... You my friend are quite a catch. I thought about color. I would think grey with white doors would look high end. I love this style as it has a retro vibe to it.
I love the design and you did a great job building that! If I was to offer to one suggestion, it would be to rabbet in the back of the cabinet so you don’t see the edge of the plywood back from the side.
I tend to not like the grain pattern on big box store sheets of oak plywood - it seems like a lot of times the cathedrals are way too big. But your sheet and therefore project turned out looking pretty good. And you're right the floating top makes it.
Very nice and simple build. Just one recommendation. Put a center support in your recess frame to support the top in the center. Plywood is cheap. Well done!
oftenlucid I like to think of myself as a practical problem solver. I’ve got an engineering background so that’s just how my brain works. Thanks for following along!
Shara Shara. Girl you are playing with my emotions. I love everything you do. You are so talented. God bless. I want to go out and purchase all of these tools to replicate all of the amazing things that you do. Thank you for sharing.
Such a great video and so easy to follow! You’re amazing Shara! I gave your plans a try with a few changes added some stenciling & made a video! I couldn’t be happier! You’re the best! -Tanea
Thank you so much for the kind words 💕💕 I appreciate that! And I’m so glad you used my plans to build something you love! Where can I watch the video? I’d love to check it out!
@@WoodshopDiaries Ive added so many of your videos to "watch later" that its enough for me to binge for the rest of the year! lol I uploaded the video to my channel if you do watch it let me know what you think! :) Im def going to recreate a few using your plans!
Shara I'm proclaiming myself your biggest fan. Love this design. I have a console-ish TV stand build coming up and the floating top design element is something I think I will incorporate. No worries I'll give you a shout out for that one!!
Hey Shara, I've watched your videos for awhile now and your probably my favorite UA-cam personality not only for your awesome builds but you always seem to answer my questions or at least acknowledge my comments and I really appreciate that. I'm a hobbyist wood work worker and I recently built a pantry for a coworker but I ran into an issue with the hinges and I was wondering if you could do a video explaining when and why you use the hinges you use.
Thank you so much! I appreciate that! So I’m not sure what issue you’re having, but I have a video and tutorial here showing how to install and adjust concealed hinges for overlay doors: www.woodshopdiaries.com/how-to-install-concealed-hinges-cabinet-hardware/ And I also have some information on types of doors here: www.woodshopdiaries.com/how-to-make-diy-cabinet-doors/ Again, I’m not sure what your specific issue was, but the way I choose hinges is I figure out what type of door I’m installing (overlay, inset, etc) and chose hinges for that door type. I hope that helps some! As a side note...I use concealed hinges 99% of the time. Occasionally I use butt hinges or a more decorative hinge, but it’s rare. Concealed hinges have adjustment options, so I like them much better for cabinets and furniture.
Well the issue I had was I was planning on doing an inset doors but didnt have the jig for the concealed hinges so I tried to find another way of staying with the inset doors but had to end up remaking the doors to be overlay using European style hinges(I think that's what they are called)
It looks really nice! For future, I highly recommend investing in the concealed hinge jig. It’s only like $30 and well worth it to switch to using them. They’re strong and have lots of options for adjusting if your door, cabinet or frame isn’t perfect.
Very nice design! You did a great job explaining all the steps taken to build the cabinet and it turned out perfect! I look forward to seeing more of your work.
Another UA-camr (Tanea & Terracotta) mentioned you in one of her videos. After I watched her build her version of the console. I decided to watch you build your version. And just like that I subscribed! Btw, you rock! I'm all kinds of impressed!
This was so useful. Thanks soooo much. I have saved your links. I would like mine with 2 bodies. I mean 2 of what you have made and sit on top. Bottom for storing books and top body for plates etc. But want it to be 160cm long. Will give this a go.
Nice work. Nice design and proportions. And, a good, brief explanation of the construction. I do agree with the gentleman who suggested letting in the back panel. Easily done. Use a tablesaw or router. You don't need a battery one or a huge one. A good plug in Porter-Cable, Bosch, DeWalt, Makita trim router will serve you well. Keep building!
I’m impressed & motivated !!! As soon as I get my home built I’ll be investing in my own tools & building some of my own furniture !... While following you of course ! Great job !!!! 💯💯💯💯💯
Love it! really elegant and easy to make, really like that you put the pocket holes in the right way for better strenght and find a practical way to hide them 😉
Bad ass. Period! ❤️👌🏼My hubs has these tools but I'm super intimated! Pretty sure I'm going to design my own and have hubs make it. I want it from wall to wall so specific length.
I actually like the stain. Grey stain is getting old and I like that the grayish tint with a more realistic wood tone mixed well on this project. I think a solid grey wouldn’t have turned out is nice as this one
JewDd* 89 I agree. While it wasn’t what I expected, I really like they greyISH stain, but I’m glad it has some brown in it. It’s a unique color I’ve never seen beef ore.
I love it! Great build. Your builds just keep getting better and better. You have an amazing talent, thank you for sharing again. Still missing the milking boots LOL
You’re so talented! I’ve recently decided to learn a little on woodworking and diys, I’ve learned so much from your content, thanks so much for teaching all of us your skill! I was trying to follow you on Amazon but I’m not super tech savvy and your links don’t allow me to go to your Amazon page
You put in the back boards like me when i now started lol,it's cool but it would be much neater if you made rabbits and then seat it in otherwise i actually still love this though it has such a wonderful contrast i hardly believe that was plywood used until i saw the entire video.
You really don’t realize how good your videos are ! Keep up the great job, I hope you enjoy a great income from your work. P.S. Raise your price, get patrion too!
Finally! Found a channel with a badass builder and designer. Who btw did this without needing any fancy tools!
Thank you!! I like keeping things simple. Plus I’m too cheap to buy expensive tools 😂😂
Girl, you did that!🤗 That piece would cost a fortune at a furniture store and wouldn’t be made out of real wood.

This was probably my fav video of hers! She's so talented!

I love the way in the video it looks like the oak grain is almost black.......that must be the contrast of the black base........beautiful cabinet!
Keith Comer thanks so much! I was really happy with how the oak plywood finished. 😄
Excellent job young lady! You build better than most of the carpenters I've worked with over a 20 year span.
abe wilcox thank you!

Hats Off Lady. Fully Dedicated and Beautiful
I appreciate it!
I'm blown away! Great job. I loved the entire video from start to finish. Definitely subscribing.
Beautiful, creative AND industrious..... You my friend are quite a catch. I thought about color. I would think grey with white doors would look high end. I love this style as it has a retro vibe to it.
ACoustaDC that would have looked cool! But the customer I built it for wanted it stained a greyISH. Maybe next time 😉
Great color for oak, even if it wasn't exactly what you intended!
Thank you!! I loved this piece…one of my favorite builds!
I love the design and you did a great job building that! If I was to offer to one suggestion, it would be to rabbet in the back of the cabinet so you don’t see the edge of the plywood back from the side.
Tom's Dreamshop Worx thank you! That’s a great suggestion! 👍
I like a rabbet, wood glue and brad nails for the back
Great work young Lady and may God Bless.
Thank you for your kind words!
Never knew plywood can be beautiful. U R inspiring . Thank U
Michael Chung I love using plywood for furniture building!
Great work Shara your skills are getting advanced I think I want one of these for my hallway.
asus12351 thanks so much!
Great build and video. I love how the grain of the wood stands out.
Robert Mazzitelli thank you! I was really happy with how good this oak plywood looked finished!
I tend to not like the grain pattern on big box store sheets of oak plywood - it seems like a lot of times the cathedrals are way too big. But your sheet and therefore project turned out looking pretty good. And you're right the floating top makes it.
Thanks so much! I’m pretty iffy about oak plywood, too. I don’t usually like using oak, but the customer wanted it, so I didn’t have much choice haha.
Great job Shara. I think this is the best one yet!
Bekim Krasniqi thank you!
Girl! Bravo!!! You make it seem very easy. It is quite useful furniture. Thanks for sharing
Very nice and simple build. Just one recommendation. Put a center support in your recess frame to support the top in the center. Plywood is cheap. Well done!
You made it look so easy. Amazing 👏 skills 👏 Amazing 👏 work 👏

Bobby Sharp's Made by Hand Shop haha thank you! Glad I could inspire an element to your next build!
Awesome work Shara! 😃👍🏻👊🏻

I'm a hobbyist wood work worker and I recently built a pantry for a coworker but I ran into an issue with the hinges and I was wondering if you could do a video explaining when and why you use the hinges you use.

OMG I love, love, LOVE this! Absolutely beautiful! I wish I had your skills....and workshop....and patience lol
Jennifer C don’t wish for my patience haha. It’s pretty thin 😅 but I’m so glad you enjoyed the project! Thanks for watching!
Very nice design! You did a great job explaining all the steps taken to build the cabinet and it turned out perfect! I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I would like mine with 2 bodies. I mean 2 of what you have made and sit on top. Bottom for storing books and top body for plates etc. But want it to be 160cm long. Will give this a go.
That would be a great idea to stack two of these! You may need to beef up the base a little, but it would be lots of great storage!
Nice work. Nice design and proportions. And, a good, brief explanation of the construction. I
do agree with the gentleman who suggested letting in the back panel. Easily done. Use a tablesaw or router. You don't need a battery one or a huge one. A good plug in Porter-Cable, Bosch, DeWalt, Makita trim router will serve you well. Keep building!
Mark Williams thanks for the tip. I have a few routers I use pretty often. Sometimes I do inset these panels and sometimes I don’t. 👍
I’m impressed & motivated !!! As soon as I get my home built I’ll be investing in my own tools & building some of my own furniture !... While following you of course ! Great job !!!! 💯💯💯💯💯
