Hi Robbie. I'm glad you got so many of the seeds to grow. Can't wait to see them all over your garden.
Me too! 🤣 just not sure where I’m gonna put them all, cause I want to do a lot of cherry tomatoes😊❤️ Thanks
❤
I tried growing tomato plants from a fresh tomato this year...put the seeds in soil, I don't remember rinsing them, just directly from the tomato. I now have lovely strong plants and will transplant them to bigger pots. It was either a Cherokee purple or brown. I didn't know it could be done this way. I'm thrilled, it saves on buying plants, as they are so expensive anymore. I'm using all kinds of containers (got that from you), yogurt, cottage cheese, etc. Love using what is on hand, and not spending extra money. Thank you Robbie and Gary (and Zoe🐶); it's a pleasure to watch y'all's videos😊❤
I can't wait to see how your tomatoes turn out and produce! I saved some sweet potatoes from being thrown out by someone who forgot them in a bag on the shelf. They were sprouting, so I set them in water to start them. I can't bear to see plants be wasted.
mmmm, imagining that tomato together with cottage cheese & pepper. The traveller seedlings look strong! Txs Robbie
Oh yes! Thanks
Great video. Warm water tip is very helpful!
Works great 😊❤ thanks
Hi Robbie, I picked some of my cherry tomatoes today...so glad I did, we had a huge wind storm ...50 mph. It tore up my shade tent garden. I was able to save my plants in buckets. I just ran with my buckets to the carport and said thank you Robbie! My container garden on the run! Lol! I sure couldn't have done that with a traditional garden!!
I set the new bird water fountain! An old cast iron sink on 2 cement blocks for now; may be the hubby will mount it on the fence???? Put the first sweet potato vine in water, there are more sprouting, this was the longest. Tomatoes are sprouting. Garden is getting prepped. BUT I went to the local nurseries, plant prices are out of sight!!!! 😮
I seen the prices this year, and they are outrageous. I’ll be buying a few but growing more from seed and propagating. Take care and have fun with all your fountains.❤
Can i mix plant like 2 different tomatoes and put 1 Jalapeno plant in the same tote @RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy
🍅🍅that is very cool thank you Hello from Canada 🇨🇦
You are so welcome, thank you❤
Just can’t get enough of your container gardening techniques. 😊 and composting in place for your plants. Oh and the wonderful hummingbirds, here on cape cod mass they should arrive around May 1 😀
I agree. Container garden tips are what I need!
Robbie I was brave enough to plant a tomato in a pot today, zone 6 here I don't see a frost in our 10 days forecast. Lol I couldn't wait anymore 😂.
I think you’ll be OK, I’m starting to get some out here too this weekend❤
I cut up 2 roma tomatoes a few days ago and scooped up all the insides that squished out and left them sitting on the counter. About 24 hours later I noticed little white tails coming out of the seeds (still inside the "sac" they have around them). I planted 6 of them into seed starter mix and I got leaves starting to pop through already! I think leaving that little sac intact around the seed was key. Maybe it feeds the seedling. No rinsing, just put the seeds straight in the dirt.
That is awesome! Thanks for sharing!
You are so welcome ❤
Wow! That’s amazing! Do you think you can do that with store bought tomato ( vine grown )?? I have never heard of a traveling tomato before!
Yes, I do that all the time.
Yes you can 😊❤
Ok I’m trying this right now! I’m also a midnight Gardener! I can’t believe all your tomato’s grew with out cleaning off the pulp! That is fantastic information. Fermenting the seeds is fun but tedious! ❤
I never clean off the pulp. I leave it and they’ve always grown even if I dry some and throw them in an envelope.😊
I love your energy! Can you bottle some of it up and send it to me lolol.
That's how I plan on planting my tomatoes that I froze last year. I bought a sweet 100s tomato plant for 5.95, but it had 5 plants bunched together in it. By the time I got them apart, their was no soil on the roots, but they are doing fine. ❤😊😊❤
That’s the perfect way to doing it just separate it don’t worry about how much soil is left on it. We plant them and they are eager to grow when they’re young thanks.❤
Forgot about the warm water. Thanks for the reminder. Congrats on rhe seeds growing. Pretty awesome
I did buy walking onions from a e bay person , so looking forward to them. 😊
That’s awesome thank you
Thank you ❤
Thank you so much for posting.
Hi Robbie!
❤
Hi Jackie ❤😊
Robbie, thank you so much for this educational video growing tomatoes. I am going to try this right away. I have a question about your rosemary in the pot next to the tomato. Is that a start from an established plant, and if so, tell us how you did it. I planted a rosemary seed several weeks ago and I have a teeny-tiny stem with a teensie weency leaf, on it. It really doesn't look very promising for a rosemary bush any time soon. If I could get a start from a growing plant, that would make my day.
I like your method of collecting seeds. How do you collect tomato and other seeds that film over the seeds for long-term storage? Also, what are some of your weird/ unique veggies, or are you and Gary grow that edible? I'm interested in more about the mushrooms plant. Thanks
Robbie thanks for sharing your wealth of information I’ve followed so much of your advise so many of us have. Starting on my 4th tote now. Have the irrigation tubing is the best for the trellises I made one for the dragon fruit it’s very sturdy🥰😂
I think last night was our last frost. I hope so!
Do u need to cover tomato plants with netting so birds do not eat the tomatoes? Thank u for the video!!
Amazing, Robbie! I cannot find these seeds!😥
❤❤❤

Are your Travelers the same as Arkansas Travelers?
Can you do that with any other vegetables and fruits like strawberries
You can with some, you can try it
🥰😎
😊❤️
Just lay a slice of tomato on top of the soil and leave it. They will grow from that slice!
Where to buy seeds?😊
I got mine on etsy
Don’t trust the government, be sure to save all seeds.
How amazing you grew them like this, do you know if these are the Arkansas Traveler tomatoes? If so I definitely will need to try and grow some! 🥰
The Arkansas traveler is a medium size heirloom tomato bred to grow in the heat of Arkansas. Not a small tomato.
When I bought them they only called them travelers ❤
