Lumpini Park is the first public park in Thailand. King Rama VI donated land at the outskirt of Bangkok to construct the park. The King used to be educated in a boarding school in England as a prince for several years and thus Lumpini Park was an attempt to emulate Hyde Park in England. Lumpini Park is the favorite park for people to exercise in the morning and evening. The park is world famous for its many monitor lizards, some are as long as 3 meters. Monitor lizard lives in the park's pond for decades. It has no predator so the park is the heaven for them. Nearby is Benjakitti Park which is connected to Lumpini Park via overhead walkway. Benjakitti Park and its new extension (Forest Park) land used to house tobacco factories of Thailand Tobacco Monopoly. The factories were relocated to the remote provinces decades ago.

Your mum is so sweet. After watching your video, I am really eager to head back to Bangkok again. I really miss the delicious and cheap street food. Waiting for my visa to arrive and then heading back in January for another 4 months. I went on that Skywalk a couple of years ago. It took me about 5 minutes to build up the nerve to go away from the edges but then it was fine. I lay face down on the glass and pretended I was flying. Our condo is on the 18th floor and has an unobstructed view to the west. We have magnificent sunsets and HUGE storm cloud views from our windows.

While BMTA non-aircon red bus is very cheap at less than 10 baht, it is relatively hot in humid Bangkok all year round. For those Thais who live along Chao Phraya River, there is an alternative. You can patronise Chao Phraya Ferry Service at price less than 20 baht or more for the longest distance. Cash only for fare. The service started about 50 years ago, using diesel engine to propel the boat. However, starting in 2020 there is a new competition of modern aircon electric boat service at a flat fare of 20 baht for all destinations. MINE Smart Ferry accepts Visa/Master Card card or you can buy fill-in card. Cash is not accepted. There is also an aircon electric tourist boat for 30 baht fare. You need to purchase a ticket before boarding a tourist boat. There is also an open-air top deck on tourist boat if you choose to face the weather and have a better view of Chao Phraya River and its environs.
Another day of exploring Bangkok with tour guide Ken and his family 😀🤓 Wonderful to bring them to the food court in that Mall for some Thai food and desserts.
