    Great video, very helpful!!! For those watching and having a problem keeping up with the speed of the video, you can slow it down by selecting the "settings" sprocket at the bottom of video frame and slow the speed of playback. That helped me a lot to focus on every detail.

    Great job on the gearbox rebuild. These ribcase 4 speed gearboxes are getting harder to find. Nice to see the process from start to finish. Keep up the great videos!

    Amazing skills @Raed! I’d love a bit of advice. I’ve replaced my 1973 MG Midget master and slave clutch cylinders. I have good travel on my clevis pin, approx. 1/2 inch, and first gear still grinds, and it’s very difficult to put in second gear. Any advice? Thanks in advance!!

    Great video but would prefer a commentary to music and subtitles.

      thank you very much, appreciate your time watching my videos, well, not every UA-camr is feeling comfortable speaking in front of the camera, sometimes Subtitles might do the job, indeed some of my videos are to do restoration documentaries for my car to add value to it. and also to help others in their similar upcoming projects.

      You make a good point about not everyone being comfortable speaking in front of camera, thinking about it I would probably feel the same. Hope I didn’t cause any offence as none intended.
      Just one question if you don’t mind. Where did you source the parts needed for the gearbox?

    On my -71 Mg I replaced the gearbox with a Morris Minor Gearbox. Gear "1" didnt stay in. The only difference was the "Back light " switch that didnt exist on the Minor one.

    Hi I have just replaced the rear oil seal on a smooth sided gearbox (A35) and when i upend the box oil pours out past the seal . Can you think of something i may have done wrong ?

    • @raedshomegarage1064
      @raedshomegarage1064  2 роки тому

      this is normal, indeed you should fill the gearbox with oil after you install it in the car, and the driveshaft is completely in. this back seal seals oil between the gearbox and the driveshaft. if the drive shaft is not installed it will leak.

      @@raedshomegarage1064 Thank you very much . I can now install it with confidence knowing it is not going to empty all the oil . Cheers , Michael .

    Great vid! I have a question and I’m hoping someone can give me an answer…when the rebuild was completed and everything installed I noticed wires near the shifter…two on the right side and two on the left. The right wires are for the reverse switch, what are the ones on the left. I’m asking because my wires are not connected to anything! Please help!

      Thank you, ok as u mentioned the right wires are for the reverse backup lights. and the left switch (wires) are for the seat belt alert light, the moment you set the gear into the 1st gear the switch will close the circuit and if u did not buckle the seat belt the alert light will light up, so it is basically for the seat built alert lights.
