I like the setup. I have a similar controller that I've never used yet. It seems I'm a chair short of playing Elite Dangerous. Don't know what I will connect my controller to yet.
Hi, hope you are enjoying your quest 2, this example I use both virtual desktop and the pi is just to connect the flight stick remotely (virtual here) you can plug any usb device and it acts like it is connected to the PC
Hi, are you running something like VoiceAttack to enable voice activation for the various commands that aren’t directly mapped to the HOTAS stick, because you can’t see a keyboard or button box through the VR headset and hand-tracking isn’t that quick/accurate?
This is brilliant! I bought the extreme 3D pro for a good price on ebay but idk where to put the darned thing lol. So it just kinda awkwardly rests in my lap for now i guess... idk. That's actually a really solid setup without going all in on some crazy VR chair with haptics and all that jazz.
please tell me im not crazy, you can use the quest 2 controllers as motion joysticks right? I bought the game a week ago but haven't really played until today and I was so sure that the controller worked.
I couldn’t get the controllers to work which is why I used the Hotas. You could pair an Xbox controller to your quest. Hope this helps. All the best for 2022
i already own this game on steam even i never played it really.. might have spent 10min in it... I see they sell it on oculus store, question: are my Oculus quest 2 strong enough to play this without my gaming pc... i assume its playable with the quest to hardware alone since it sell on this store to now?. ... i hate wires so i hope to play this without wire ..(virtual desktop work poorly and laggy so that is not an option) funny enought i have same joystick and trottle.. also not use it yet even i owned em a year lol .. :)
I play this game on PC, love it!!! Been thinking about making the switch to VR. Did you have any issues with fitting all your controls to your HOTAS key bindings? I find I still use by key board quite a bit.
Ah you're a genius. This puts me one step further towards playing Elite in my La-Z-Boy - next hurdle is how to mount a HOTAS to a soft chair without upsetting my wife...
Man, i m kinda lost. What does the Raspberry Pis do exactly? What is it s function and where do i connect it? I appreciate any guidance, really want to set something up in the den but far from gaming pc. Thank you.
Check out the other video where I connect a racing wheel to VR, the pi acts to send the usb signal as if it's plugged into the PC natively, hope this helps
How do you get the joysticks to work through Virtual Desktop? I have a Quest and the Logitech x52 Pro and tried to link up with Elite Dangerous last night, but I can't get neither the joysticks or keyboard to work through VD, and the game is obviously not compatible with the VR controllers.. It's so frustrating, because it worked fine some days ago, I hadn't used my Quest in a long time, so it wasn't updated properly. Then everything worked fine and I could play, no problems. Then the quest updated and I lost what I presume was the free version of Virtual Desktop, and Oculus Link doesn't seem to work with my PC. So I bought the Virtual Desktop app and was able to connect to my PC again. But, it won't let me change controllers in any way as far as I can see :(
I configured my HOTAS first and made sure I remapped some controls before trying to use it in VR, as you can see from the video they work perfectly, I also run an x52 elite dangerous profile before launching the game.
Pi4 running Rasbian, and the software required for remote usb is steam link and usbhere program available from steam with the client also on the PC, works great for any usb device
@@Mandyglen I have the game both from Oculus and Epic Games but not from Steam. Is the Steam Link just for connecting the devices and game not required for it?
@@Mandyglen Awesome thanks. I just returned my second X52 in a week.Seems the quality on those things are very hit or miss. Decided to go with dual flight sticks Thrustmaster...

Looks great, just got myself an OQ2. Why use steam link/pi when u could use virtual desktop?

Love it 😃

It doesn't play without a PC the oculus store version is the same as the steam version , you need to link to a pc wired or wireless
Big like my dear Friend. Bravo!
Have a nice day. Be Well. Greetings from your friend MaryEllen👍 20
pare foarte spectaculos acest joc dar mai ales controlul realizat cu ajutorul realitatii virtuale!
I play this game on PC, love it!!! Been thinking about making the switch to VR. Did you have any issues with fitting all your controls to your HOTAS key bindings? I find I still use by key board quite a bit.
You not need a Keyboard, only if u want. ED in VR is so Immersive, im not able to tell People, you have to try it.......................
You can use VoiceAttack and make Voice Commands.
Ah you're a genius. This puts me one step further towards playing Elite in my La-Z-Boy - next hurdle is how to mount a HOTAS to a soft chair without upsetting my wife...
Ha ha good luck with that )) Thanks for stopping by :o)
What Quest2 strap are you using, could you link it in the description ?

Cool!!! 😃
i was wondering if i could use this helmet for elite on my pc instead of setting up my htc vive for it
I have both headsets, but it is more convenient on the Quest as it's wireless!
Amazing gaming experience 🙂🙂👍👍
👍Nice sharing. Best my friend here to support you. Stay connected❤ this beautiful video A big LIKE ! Full watching !🎄

Oculus Quest already has 90hz update like they promise?
Yes 90hz on link cable and virtual desktop, rumour that it’s getting 120hz?
@@Mandyglen thanks. i researched abit and it seems it's a new oculus model like Oculus Quest 2(2021) edition, but i'm not sure
