I was a custodian for 2 years and it was honestly the best job I ever had, being around the kids always brightened my day and everyone always said good morning when I got there
I’m 27 and just got a job as a after school custodian and it’s the best job I’ve ever had. After being in the restaurant industry for 8 years I can confidently say I want to / will retire a custodian 🖤
@@janilacool i didnt even get asked alot of questions the lady just explained mostly what they do in the job and the hours to work. I was never called back even tho i am ready to work and available
Thank you for sharing this! I'm going to show it to my 3rd graders for custodian appreciation day so they can better understand everything our great custodians do for our school!
My dad and mother were both custodians. My father the lead and my mother and 3 others the assistants. I spent many on many week nights and weekends at his school. I always appreciated the hard work you guys put in. Thats why at my schools I attended ( my father never let me attend the schools he worked at) I always showed respect to the custodians.
I am currently an elementary school custodian in CT. The only custodian in the building all year usually. It can be tough but also rewarding. I have great staff and students. I get paid well and enjoy my job. Good enough for me.
How is it going so far? I work nights as a custodian in a courthouse but am moving to a supervisory custodial role in an elementary school in a few weeks.
I did lots of summer volunteer work with the custodians at my high school and I'd have to say that it's pretty fun to work with them and I've been thinking about doing this as a career ever since. They make really good money, so it's something I consider doing. I like talking to people and working with cool people and I feel like that can help me get the hands-on experience. So, I'd say it's a good job.
I would say being a school Custodian is not an awwfull position to have. It can teach you different pieces of the job, especially during the annual cleaning of the building. There is a bunch of heavy lifting if transportating furniture from one room to the other or transporting furniture back once tile floor has been Re-waxed and carpet cleaned. Respect your school Custodian.
This guy looks like hes having fun! haha i'd love to get that feeling again where you actually wanna wake up and go straight to work because everyone is so friendly and in a good mood :) that'd be nice hmmmm might have to look into this :) thanks for sharing this video!
He is more like Mr Boyd from Barney because he was the custodian from Season 3-6 and does other jobs as well such as beekeeper, musician, storekeeper, park keeper and photographer. This custodian in this video is a basketball coach and leadership advisor
I'm a chief, building service manager or commonly referred to as head custodian of an elementary school, I have 16yrs under my belt, it is a very rewarding and stressful job, the kids think im the coolest thing since (designer water bottles) lately its been very hard to get and retain a good 2nd shift crew, they either do nothing or very little, I'm starting to wonder, am I expecting to much from this generation of non workers or am I just not the manager that they wanna work for...
It might be the generation, sadly. I have 31 years under my belt. Over the years, I have come across amazing workers. And some others that lacked motivation. Not everyone is a self-starter. Try to continue staying positive and help guide them, mold them. Encourage them to take pride in what they do. Remind them they are there first for the children, and then the staff, and the community. As you know, if all else fails. You know what to do. I wish you the best.

hes not showing you the 50 toilets , sinks and urinals, 20 classrooms, hallways and entryways, the 3 P's ( puke, poop and pee)
@themurphyhomemoviechannel3679 that is the downfall of the job, however you get alot of tools to clean those nasty messes and it's real easy.

We respectfully disagree.
Especially when cleaning puke.
You just don't like schools. Might explain your spelling.
