chicken feet. i guess it started with not wasting anything from chicken. It does feel a bit like a culture thing. I'm used to eating liver, kidneys, chicken hearts, stomachs, skin but the feet was never a thing. If it tastes good though it shouldn't take long to get used to it.

To answer the chicken feet debacle, first off, it is okay to use your hands, keeping ahold of those feet firmly with chopsticks is quite a challenge, you then separate the bones at the joint, eating the cartilage, skin, and what little meat there is on them.

chicken feet is yummy, lots of girls in China like it. most of foreigner don't like just because their tongues aren't flexible and can't handle the bone. but actually the meat with the bone is more delicious than the pure meat.
For your first try, you should try the boneless chicken feet, which is a very delicious and textured experience. And chicken feet are full of collagen, which is good for the skin
I'm german but I like chicken feet. :D I once tried them here in my hometown in Germany at a chinese "Imbiss". It was delicious in my opinion, but all the "Knorpel" made it hard to eat.

The White Rabbit candy is kind of like America's Tootsie Roll but softer, and instead of being chocolate flavored it's Milk flavored giving it that pudding like taste. The view of the row of skyscrapers reminded me of looking at a woman's perfume bottle collection with all the different shapes. Practically every American skyscraper is just a straight block going up. Nice video with great imagery!
I'm a Chinese America. Had chicken feet for the first time just a few months ago, and I had about the same reaction you guys did. Also, got a good laugh at Phil not knowing it was upside down.
When we first moved to Vietnam, we ordered food delivery one of the first nights we were there because we were so tired from the move. One of the things we ordered translated to "chicken legs", so we assumed we would be getting drumsticks. They were feet. 😂 We'll try anything once, so it was fine for us...but totally agree, I don't really see the point. There's nothing really to them!

I thought that apple seeds were mildly poisonous and of course my puppies said no to apple cores. Keep on keeping on and I'll just tag along and watch.

I wonder why so many visitors seem to eat so little veg when traveling around China. I understand sometimes people are eating street food, but sometimes I would think you get a full meal which in many parts of China includes veg, proteins, rice and soup. That's both tasty and healthy.
U should get a proper visiting visa and go to the smaller cities. Those are much nicer then the tier one cities. Cheap and great local food, friendly locals who havent learnt to scam tourists yet.
The problem is china doesn’t have good chicken feet. Too skinny. Try New York Chinatown or any dim sum place in the US. Honestly so much better. China doesn’t spice them up like we do. We add a tiny hit of heat with jalapeño slices. Also the soy sauce doesn’t quite taste the same.
You don’t eat chicken feet in Shanghai ( there are not specialized in preparing those food ) . You have to go to Hong Kong or Guangshou or Chinatown LA or NYC Chinatown

Then the chicken feet get rinse in water and then get dried in towel before going into the deep fryer to make the skin soften. Next is to marinated the deep fried chicken feet with various spices and sauces over night. And then portion it on a small plate with some preserved black beans and sliced chillies and go for the steamer until it is soft, tender and juicy. In short it is a delicacy that the average person do not get to eat it at home. Food is a culture thus if one is not grown up with it there will always be that fear behind.
