Hey guys! I hope you enjoyed some of these study tips. These tips are really just summarized of how I "approached" studying for these classes. I think the most important thing to determine when starting to study for a new class is "What is hard about this class?" and "What is the functionality of what I am learning?". I think this really guides your studying. Overall, I am biased towards active recall and practice questions because those have been the most effective methods for me! Whether its biology, biochemistry, chemistry, organic chemistry (o-chem), or physics- there is always an effective study strategy for you! For those of you in your pre-med journey... KEEP ON PUSHING THROUGH! It will all be worth it in the end :)

My organic chem professor literally told the class day 1 that to do well you had to do every single problem in the textbook and boy was he right. Practice questions really are key. I literally had so many pages and did hundreds of questions.

I did better in Ochem than I did in Gen chem😂 organic always seems intimidating, but for those who haven’t taken it. I suggest the best way to study is to know your periodic table and understanding the basics. Also tutoring helps if you have access to it!!

I’m starting college this fall and majoring in biology to become a doctor or physician assistant. I’ve realized that there isn’t really any anatomy classes if i major in biology. So i’m thinking about majoring in kinesiology and minoring in biology. Do you think this could work? Would it prepare me for med school/ PA school? and would it prepare me for the MCAT if i decide to take it?

Not a premed student. But an advice for doing physics is to leave everything in variable form and plug in numbers at the very end. Andrew Dotson has a great video with other useful tricks when first starting out with physics: ua-cam.com/video/ZWgH4lSW1X0/v-deo.html
Manipulating variables instead of plugging in numbers is underrated. It lets you see cancellations and makes it easier to do dimensional analysis at the very end (making sure that the units make sense for your answer) and edge cases (for example in an inclined plane problem. If the angle of the incline is 0 degrees, the x component of the normal force should be 0. since this is not true for the equations i have when i plug in theta = 0, i know my work is wrong). And lastly, physics is hard for everyone. Don't give up.
