This song was in Transformers movie 2007. They wrote songs for all of the transformer films. :) They also have songs in The Matrix, Scream, Twilight, and The Sopranos tv series. Chester played a role in one of the SAW horror films.
To be more accurate, they only wrote New divide specifically « for » the second movie. What I’ve done and iridescent were « acquired » by the movie studio to put in 1st and 3rd movie, but new divide was legit made for the purpose of the movie soundtrack.
Also a little known fact - Chester can be briefly seen in one quick scene in a movie CRANK staring Jason Statham. The two interact with each other in a specific way while watching horse racing. Not gonna spoil anything major just in case anyone here would like to watch the movie.
Not sure why, but the explosion through the snow-covered trees had always stuck in my mind from this music video, even though there was way more drastic imagery.

They helped me so much back then and still do now 20 plus yrs later. RIP Chester. I think it was such an interesting choice to make the music video for this song focus the evils of mankind. The song itself is more individualistic; it's What I've Done, not We've Done. But those individual actions are also the parts that make up bigger wrongs, and I think the music video does a good job putting attention to that. As dark as this video is, I love that the final shot if the grass regrowing. It ends on a hopeful note, fitting of the song. The song is not for wallowing in pity over past mistakes, it's about moving on from them through forgiveness. Thank you so much for reacting to it! ❤
