Maurice Clarett | Ohio State Highlights
Вставка
- Опубліковано 18 лют 2018
- A collection of Maurice Clarett's best plays from Ohio State's 2002 National Championship season.
In 11 games, Clarett rushed for 1,237 yards (An Ohio State freshman record until JK Dobbins broke it in 2017) and 16 touchdowns, while catching 12 passes for 104 yards and two touchdowns.
In short, #13 was a 19 year old who played like a grown ass man. We all know how his time in Columbus ended, but hopefully these extended highlights are a good reminder of how special Clarett was.
P.S. If you want to see highlights from Dobbins' freshman year, they are also on my page, or just click here: • JK Dobbins | 2017 high...
That Miami and Ohio state game was ridiculously loaded with talent
Yes Sir. RIP Shawn Taylor
Biggest robbery in history
@@brianbartlett5912 You're just a sore loser. Buckeyes all day and I went to OSU when we beat you overrated bums. Clinton Portis sucks by the way.
-and sadly, Miami fans will always cry about it.
I get it the call was a little iffy but so was Gamble's catch that the refs mistakenly called incomplete that would have allowed ohio state to kill the rest of the clock in regulation...plus weren't they supposed to win by like 30 so then it shouldn't have been close..right??...so no excuses and no guilt osu won the game...we also had bad CALLS vs Clemson in the cfp a few years ago but osu also had 3 redzone trips end in fgs and a late game int so we don't make excuses either 🤜✋🎤💥
Man... he was really something special
What’s crazy is till this day it’s crazy for a true freshman to start for any team in college. But Ohio state at its finest he did this.
He was simply a great running back! Everything you want in a RB. He had great vision, patience, balance, incredible strength and a high football IQ. He made his line look better because he helped set up blocks by the way he navigated through the hole. Such a great talent! I'm not an OSU fan, but I watched him every chance I got that season.
Such a memorable season, I witnessed this when I was 18-19 year old (I'm like 10 days older then Maurice) and at the time I really had no idea that like 15 years later it would still be one of the most memorable seasons in Ohio State History. Zeek and Eddie are special as well, but neither of those guys were True Freshman during their runs....
I grew up in Upper Arlington now live in Southern California and I suppose I miss Fall Ball...
Go Bucks...
He would've had every OSU rush record to date if he wouldn't have been screwed over
As a Michigan fan I loved watching Clarett play. Him and Peterson were the best true freshman I have ever seen. God GIFTED
As a Miami fan I really love Clarett, Shame he could been a beast in the pros
He ran too much in college it made him too banged up
How was so special! 2nd best true freshman I ever seen behind Adrain Peterson. I wish we could have seen him as a Buckeye for 3 years.
You and me both, I'm an Ohio State fan and a viking fan thought clarret looked alot like Peterson style wise
He was big and nasty at 18, can you imagine by 23-24. Dude was built to be a tonka truck. AD threw him under bus and tied Tressels hands. The Senator is what got us turned back around and headed the right way. As good as thise teams were already, imagine him at TB. at least one more championship.
_Thank you God. Best high quality Maurice Clarett highlights I've ever... EVER been able to find. A sincere thank you from a true Buckeye fan and and Maurice is my favorite player. Amazing lol. __#BuckeyesForLife_
If he would've stayed healthy that year (had a stinger in his shoulder over half the season), he would've gotten over 2000 yards.
Clarrett and Adrian Peterson are the two best true freshmen running backs I've seen in the last 20 years of College Football
What about Johnathan Taylor or JK Dobbins
McFadden and Moreno had great Freshmen seasons as well, and they played in the SEC
@@josepharmstrong1531 no
@@NJ187 sec was shit back then
@@dchsftball45 You have no idea what you are talking about.
That strip after the int. was huge what an amazing kid!!
Greatest college football player I’ve ever seen
Best play in Ohio State history. Second I’d say Zekes 80+ yard TD run against Bama.
@@michaelgraber5750 Holy Buckeye is the greatest play in Ohio State history.
I was kid during all this, I just moved from Ohio back to Georgia where I was born after 6 years there, I grew up with this team dieing this season and it solidified me as a Buckeye fan through and through I love this team and I miss OHIO.
Had to come here after the Vlad interview. Glad I did! 🤯
Back in day when football was enjoyable
I agree.
The way he lowered his shoulder the man was just a freight train! The reason I am a buckeye fan!
Maurice Clarett made one of the greatest plays in The Ohio State football history. He made a true football play he didn't tackle the man he got the ball back. He was instrumental in The Ohio State getting back to their National Championship ways.
clarett, he was a difference maker in any game
We needed him in the NFL
The only other thing more iconic during Tressel's tenure was his sweater vest. Clarrett was amazing!
Have ever seen a better runner of the football at such a young stage...film sessions must've been jaw dropping....HIS PLANT, PATIENCE n GO UN MATCHED...
imagine what could have been
the non padded chin strap turf toe era raw rugged the last generation before the newer gen of football. lots of memories was in middle school when clarett was buzzing.
Legend
Ridiculous! A beast!
The Sean Taylor appearance was great.
Just GREAT? .....CANT BELIEVE CLARETT STOLE BALL BACK..
My favorite rb in buckeye history. Oh what could have been
Reese was the best HS RB I’ve seen in person. Fantastic vision and instinct
Me too. I just knew he was gonna blow up at ohio state. When you watch hs football you can tell when a player is just special. Maurice was that in spades.
I enjoy watching RB majesty
Vlad brought me here
He was a monster in college but couldn’t stay out of trouble and had terrible combine. He never recovered.
God he was good. He had it all.
He only played in 11 out of 14 games, it was found out in court, that he never attended 1 class at Ohio State and Professors were told to pass him anyways, he only ran a 4.78 forty at the NFL combine, but he had an incredible offensive line to run behind, he always go caught later down field
Could you imagine Clarrett as a Junior had he developed each year!? Just looking back, he was much ahead of his time. Could you imagine if Mickey Marotti got ahold of him! Could you imagine his Junior year under Mickey!! What a thought!
Can you imagine if that AD didnt euin his life? He could've rhe best ever!
mya moore facts they did him so dirty
MoC is still one of my favorite Buckeyes. Yeh he had his problems but he was a stud on the field. Smart player.
One of the BEST Buckeyes and thats saying a whole bunch!
i met this guy he was probably the nicest guy ive ever met he told me about pursuing football and how size cant be taught
It's a shame things turned out the way they did..this kid was on his way to a great college career and who knows after that
He was the truth should have won the Heisman freshman year
It’s the combination of size (STRENGTH) and speed that made him so good. I’m SO MAD that he messed up his NFL career… 😡
Beast
So sad he did not reach his full potential he was a beast!
Maurice could have been one of the greatest. The Bucks would not have won the title without him. Too bad he followed the bad advice and made wrong decisions.
He's changed the trajectory of his life and has become a great ambassador for the University.
He just got a DUI 2 years ago dude. He doesn't learn.
@@cameronweber1228 that was 3 years ago dude
Andy Geiger derailed Clarett's career.
Maurice Clarett was great... to me he was a mixture of Jerome Bettis and Marshall Faulk...he could pound it out in the trenches & break tackles but also can catch out of the backfield and agile enough to make moves on defenders to get more yards and score 6...dude was the shit...im happy that he made the choice to bounce back...unlike like most dudes before him coming out of Youngstown,Oh ...who'll go to college as a blue chipper outta H.S. but always dont make it...and come back and just become failures...but now that has changed... acouple yrs ago i saw that Youngstown,Oh had the most players in the NFL at that time and Maurice played apart in that as far as breaking that cycle...if any college coaches reading this and your looking for dope fb players look into the mahoning/ trumbull counties those areas are full of talent and a good amount of those players are from Youngstown,Oh....and Youngstown Boys is my favorite 30 for 30 and of course im being biased
Absolutely hated everything Ohio St ever since Clarett. He was too damn good. Just a monster
The best true freshman performance in college football history capped off with a National title victory against the University of Miami hurricane. l started as a freshman linebacker l get what he accomplished .
Beat most dominant college back I’ve seen
Like he was shot out of a cannon if healthy would have gotten 2000 and would have won the Heisman people don’t realise how much hype and adoration he was being given too bad it all went to his head later but for that one season man was he special helped majorly bring OSU a National Championship along with Craig Krenzel Michael Jenkins Chris Gamble and the MVP punter Andy Groom
People forget they played 13 regular season games, so they had only one off week all regular season or none.
This dude was bigger than Lebron in Ohio and threw it all away.
Andy Geiger ruined Maurice's career. Research how before making such a statement.
I remember thinking he was going to be a bad ass in the NFL then heard he was locked up smh....would of loved to see what his career would of looked like.
The OSU AD, ruined him
Sucks man to see so much talent wasted.
Probably one of the greatest that didn't make it
I loved watching this kid pound the rock.
🔥🔥🔥
How firm thy Friendship O-H-I-O. Born Cowlumbus. Alum here from these days too. We have talent. I hear “Ohio” means beautiful in Iroquois too.
He was the truth
Had just as much talent as Adrian Peterson
Maurice and Adrian Peterson were grown men rb’s as Fr
Alright, check this out! I'll denounce my whole work! Anything included! The deal is, I get equal opportunity to get my "Frankenstein" on! Then I can see where I was so wrong that I was "X"ed out of everything mine!..... Deal or no deal?
Power speed vision...
ayeo philly hands, agility...he had it all
he tore up texas tech as i recall
"$hout$ out to the "Fairmount Hot Boy$!" This the joke they out there "Dying" to prove! I was never school, work, hustle, a game jer$ey, a fight, or a $tick! $ssstooop! Lol
SoCool...
wish the video was longer.....sad
He was do good tragedy smh could have been one of the greats
I can call off a whole 5 year game schedule! 12 games the 1st 2 years, 8 the 3rd, and 20 games the last 2! Bitch which 1 did you attend with my whole squad as the witness! Now do you UNDERSTAND ME?
No, I don't think anyone could understand that.
This was saquan before saquan
A true stud; however, he had too many people whispering bullshit in his ear. Thanks, Jim Brown for fucking up Clarrett's future. Part of the Kudabeen tribe.
Jim Brown was a terrible mentor for Maurice, but Andy Geiger is the true villain.
Well,.... I don't know! I don't even "Reality Kings"! More like "Drop Out Zombie Kings"!
Could’ve been a HOF
CollegeDays..
Ricky Williams was nasty at texas
What is funny to me is all his yards were against teams like San Jose State, Washington State, etc. Ohio State never plays anybody. He would have been average in the SEC.
Sounds like you're gonna cry
In my opinion maurice was better Ezekiel Elliott. Imagine what could of been.
A repeat in 2003
There's no doubt.
@@MrSuperman2307 very likely. That team was #2 going into the Michigan game that season. Clarett would've been the difference maker for that offense.
Are you outta your rabbit ass mind
Special. But Should’ve just calmed down and stayed for another year or two. Probably would’ve done wonders for him.
How could he do that when the AD derailed his career?
He missed some time and then played with a bad shoulder to boot.
damn shame he couldnt give up the street life
Incredible talent wasted
And you and dirty .ss gon' try to put me out there on some weird sh.. that ain't got nothing to do with this!..... I know where you want to be! Its obvious!
And I know you! Its eating you, you still want to prove something irrelevant! That's your downfall! You know the end of the Procrastination story!
Biggest waste of talent I can think of.
I know he was just a true freshmen but the top end speed is lacking. He looks good and all but I just don't think the guy seemed all that special. Maybe its recency bias having had Dobbins and Zeke. I think I would take Zeke Dobbins beanie Hyde George all before this guy. Great freshman year though.
You must not have been old enough to watch clarett in person. I've never watching Ohio State football since Eddie George. Eddie as a freshmen didn't compare to Maurice. Who knows what Maurice could've done had Andy Geiger not ruined his career. All the other backs you mentioned were not what Maurice was.
