Answering your question: the price of Chanel 31 Rouge Cambon lipsticks is a bit exaggerated. As a customer, I think that is overpriced. I don't know who told you it is a British brand. Queen Elizabeth did wear the Ballet Slippers because it is a pale colour. It is part of their usual collection, not something special. I tried it, but found it to be too sheer.

I suppose at local retailers they thought it's a British brand because of the London based address. It may have something to do with import in Europe. My favorite color is lady like. I remember when this brand started - in the US! Like all independent makeup companies, it was eventually sold to a bigger company, making the founder rich! I love expressie, I buy it in the drugstore and bring it to the nail salon. It lasts for at least a week and dries in ten minutes. Usually the best colors are always sold out. When I showed it to my sister, she said “I’m stopping on the way home to buy it!” She was so impressed!

Tisse Rivoli is just a perfect palette. I also like Les Beige in Medium, but find they have very little pigment. You look very relaxed - so happy your holiday was such a hit! Of course Nick's relatives accepted you - why wouldn't they - I'm sure they were just as impressed!

It sounds like you had a lovely trip to make the most of the end of summer :) I recently traveled with my boyfriend's family (we all stayed in a lake-side house together) and it was just tons of fun. I think it's really special when you feel like you fit in with your partner's family... such a great way of making memories together. Essie Watermelon is one of my favorite nail polish colors EVER!

It turns out that Essie is an American brand but the story about queen Elizabeth wearing ballet slippers is true :) It's a very pretty color. One coat works great also to create classic French style nails with a solid white tip. I used to love this style in my 20s. Two coats look beautiful as well. It's a very elegant color. xoxo

Welcome back! As beautiful as they are, I was so sad to see the price of the 31 Rouge lipsticks after eagerly waiting their release. If our boutique is carrying them I might take a trip to see them in person. However, to buy blindly, picking a shade that may or may not work with your skin tone/looks different in person is a gamble! $195 is a steep investment. I'm curious to see what color you'd pick and would love a review, please!
Essie’s “Watermelon” is my favorite summer holiday color. Beautiful and vibrant. If you like “Ballet Slippers” you might try “Sugar Daddy”. Not quite as sheer, a slight pinkish undertone and still very neutral.
I never knew that Essie was a British brand! How cool! I remember it in the 1980s and Ballet Slippers was the most popular color and Watermelon was a favorite of mine too. It was a salon brand back then but sometimes the salon would sell the bottles so you could touch up your color. It was $4 a bottle!! 😅

I have Essie polish in Mademoiselle, which just a bit more pink. I just got Chouchette, but I don’t like pink lipstick with peach blush, I just look sickly. I need a red/rose or brick red with a peach cheek.
