I have been slowly moving away from Chanel makeup. I just don't find it inspiring anymore. But my top 5 are Chanel No. 1 foundation, eyeshadow quad in Clair Obscur, old blush formula in Pink Explosion, Coco lipstick in Mademoiselle and the eye makeup remover which is amazing!🎉
Hi Allison great video my top Chanel products are Ballerina nail polish like you I love it! The Le rouge duo ultra teneu I love it it’s so easy and last all day. Chanel’s hydra beauty nourishing lip care which in my opinion is great but it doesn’t get lots of attention… the rouge coco flash in boy, love it and the les beiges highlighting fluid in both shades are fabulous…. I am also loving their new formula for their new bronzer which is great. Love this type of videos you should do more videos like these with Dior and Chantecaille! 😉🤗🥰
I love the water fresh tint. I use it all the time. I’m on my 2nd bottle. I use it under foundation but sometimes I wear it by self and I enjoy it both ways. I have to try the Camilla water cream. Sounds like something I would like. love Thanks for sharing your top 5 and bottom 5.
Thanks Alli! I loved your red eyeshadow montage 😂 I agree with you on the water fresh tint. It’s my most repurchased product (across types of makeup) of all time. I use it daily there’s just nothing better for my skin. My other favorite Chanel would have to be the Rouge coco in Adrienne; it’s my favorite neutral lip. I hope you’re resting well! 😘
I didn’t buy the water based blush, and heard they are not too good. Totally agree on the cream eye shadow- have a pink one and can’t believe it dried up so quickly! Frustrating…
Hello Allison. I agree with you about the chanel blush. I find after rubbing the brush on it, it almost feels coated and I have to scrape the surface to get product off. My favourite chanel blush is the fantasie chanel one released in spring, it is so so beautiful. Also the Tisse Vendome is one of my favourite eyeshadows xx
Hi dear Allison, how are you doing today? Hope and pray for complete recovery after your surgery!!! The video was so beautiful, and great explanation, as always, thank you!!!!🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩At the moment Chanel tired, as they ruin accounts of creators on IG, when they, as i understood leak the info themselfves... But of course i have a few Chanel products that i still use: Chanel Sublimage concealer, have 2 colours now, it's that good! Chanel Rêve de Camelia Highlighter, Chanel Fantaisie blush from this spring, and the corresponding eyeshadow quad no. 68. And the Chanel Mediterrannee eyeshadow quad from last year spring, wow! Also love their Naif lipgloss 804 that Michele recommended, although, Pat McGrath, she has an amazing lipgloss formula and always reductions! The Chanel tweed collection from last year, so, so, i expected more. Their waterproof eyeliners need an update as they hurt my eyes, can be me, have sensitive eyes, decluttered almost all my PMG/ND/SG shadows. Biggest disappointment: the shade range of their bronzers, and why they cannot make their complexion products sensitive skin approved, it's like they really don't want to listen, i gave Chanel no. 1 foundation away. Only the Sublimage foundation i can handle, but quite heavy, even me, with dry skin, i cannot always wear this, prefer Suqqu over this one. But many brands can learn from Suqqu, especially eyeshadows, i never think, this is so, so. But lots of EU brands as well as Tom Ford with their lavender oil, they cannot stop putting bad stuff in their products so i will not purchase primers and foundations until they come to their mind about this. I was born in 1970, Allison, Chanel is less boring as they were the decadees before but, hit or miss, like almost every brand. Well, Suqqu and Chantecaille make amazing makeup mostly! Sending you lots of love, get well soon!!!😘😘😘😘😘😘
@@AllisonChase more than welcome dear Allison!!! That's so great to hear!!! 👍 No, red eyeshadow is not for everybody, well, on brown eyes with lighter complexion looks mostly great! Really beautiful it looks on people with brown eyes AND deeper complexion, in my opinion than. Yes, hit or miss, Chanel, like many brands. Have a wonderful day!!!😘😘😘😘
Allison, I enjoyed your take on the red eye shadow!! So funny! A few months ago, I picked up a blush in Jersey and an eye shadow quad in Spices. I love these shades, but like you, I feel like I have to scrape the powders to get color on my face! After seeing your Tisse Vendome, I would be happier with that one. Are the eye shadows with “Tisse” in the name a different formula? On a positive note, I also purchased the Sublimage concealer and a Rouge Coco lipstick in Michelle which is a brownish coral/red shade and I’m really enjoying both products. The jar of Sublimage will last forever, but I will repurchase the Rouge Coco in Michelle. Such a beautiful formula! Hope you’re doing well in recovery. Thanks for the great video!
Great video. I love Le Blanc essence lotion, so great as hydrating toner, on 3rd bottle, and water fresh tint Le Beige. Not wild about the rouge coco flash , it just disappears but love rouge allure velvet lipstick, it looks wonderful.
Hello, Chanel expert. Love that intro. I finally ordered Eden Roc and Dior Riviera. Thanks for the Chanel top 5. Agreed, that less foundation makes you look younger as it is always good at 60 to look 40 ;-)
You’re absolutely right about Vitalumiere. I used to wear it years ago, and absolutely loved it. And then they discontinued my shade. 😭 The next options were too dark or too yellow. I’m so happy that I now found No 1 de Chanel, and can get my BR22. It really reminds me of my discontinued Vitalumiere, in terms of how it makes my skin look.
I love Water Fresh Blush, it takes time to apply though and yes, I use it on bare skin . Works perfectly well and looks very natural, like my own flushed skin, but better.
I love it too, I have no problem with application..half a pump on the back of my hand and I use a brush, the brush which comes is also good for it, it need to be break up before applying it on the face and its better to stipple on..I don't know why people don't use the recommended application..it has a meaning, why companies recommended it..
Hello, you are 100% about the single pot eyeshadows. I purchased No.802 Undertone shade very soft and beautiful BUT the sales lady at the Chanel store here in Sydney did tell me that they tend to dry up very quickly, and I paid attention, I have kept it in its little box with the little brush and have always taken good care of it and closed it hard but it dried up pretty much as soon as I opened it. What a shame. I still use it but it’s a bit of an effort to get the pigment from it. What a bummer 😏
Great video! Water Fresh Tint is awesome! I will have to try the Hydra Beauty Moisture Creme. I totally agree about the formulated Chanel Joues Contraste Powder Blush. It is awful. I bought two and gave them away. Fortunately some in the old formula were still available in a few department stores so I was able to get a backup of a few of my favorite colors.
Dear Allison, Great video🤩I absolutely agree with you, the new blushes are dry and have a little pigment. Mascara is very strange, it's just not good. But I love their LES BEIGES Sheer Healthy Glow Highlighting Fluid. Both versions are great. I am greeting you😘😘😘
Great video Allison, so my top 5 would be Chanel long wear foundation, i love that foundation mostly in cooler weather, or i want to have more canvas look, so certain blushes, for certain looks would really show up. , then water fresh foundation as well. Chanel allure lipstick from Lucia Pica era, “First light” , i cant find it anymore, although i have 2 back ups😜 i also love Chanel water fresh blush and new Chanel bronzer cream, and Chanel allure mascara. I got both in black ( makes lashes shiny, like laminated) and red oh that one looks so beautiful it doesnt look like sick or clownish, it looks very sophisticated . I loved to wear creating “cold girl look” in cool weather.mine it did not dried out. And if it does i am buying again, especially red one. I think it is LE so i need to get back up soon. Although i know that most of ppl didnt like, this mascara, so probably Chanel will discontinue 🤔😔 Have a blessed day🙏💗
I totally agree! The less foundation you wear, the younger you look. Especially as you get older. I use the Hydra Tint for the same reason. And the Complexion Touch can be used to spot conceal for redness. It's a great line. But, for older lips, the sheers all feather. So I need lipstick that stays put. That's why I choose the Rouge Allure or even Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue. However, Chanel ruined their nail polish. I tried Activiste. Beautiful color, but chips every single day. My old bottles last a week to ten days, no matter how deep the color. Curious about those new gold foiled eye shadow palettes. Thanks for the video!💚
My pleasure! Oh that’s disappointing about the new nail polish 💅🏼 I’ve tried a few shades and they’ve lasted me about the same as the older version but I didn’t try that specific shade that you mentioned.
@@AllisonChase If you've had good luck with other shades, maybe it's just that one. Although I've heard other influencers who've had the same sad experience. I do my own nails too. And Dior was my other OG. So I'm using all my older colors until I hear more. And I'm going to try Londontown, which I've heard good things about.
Just a tip ,the blush it’s pretty much tint too, so it’s meant to be use by itself not on top of foundation, it’s more for people who doesn’t enjoy the foundation at all but the want some natural color and you can use first serum with dui finish let it set ,and after several minutos after apply the blush and use your fingers like tapping the small amount of product and blend well.
Hi Allison😄, Thank you for t thehe good, bad and the ugly😅. For the good, Water Fresh tint is unlike anything I tried. I ended up getting the Complexion touch, which covers redness better etc and it works great☀. For the bad, I ordered Chanel blush in the spring and got suprised, shocked and frustrated😳. But as a person, who does not give up easily or is a little bit mad, I tried few tricks. First I scraped the top layer off with kitchen knife, it helped, but not enough. Then I scratched the surface with needle, drawing a grid. And Voila, it worked! I can actually get some color to my cheeks with a brush😊. What did I learn? Never to order Chanel blush online, but only from store and even then, I wish to try the blush I am getting💮
Hi Alli, great video as always! I enjoy hearing your thoughts on whatever products you choose to speak about. Edited to add: the red and the biscotti blush was so funny!
I love the water fresh blush for no make up days. Just a little concealer, the blush , and mascara. But it doesn’t last long- seems like I use it a few times and I’m halfway through the bottle.
Hi Alison I totally agree with you on these products. I have been a Chanel addict for many years but recently came across Charlotte tilbury and I tried two products which really worked on my mature skin. I was really surprised so I am going to try more. The quality and packing is very nice too. Have you ever used this brand if so could you show me the link. I’d love your take on it. Thanks 😊
@@AllisonChase Hi I purchased the travel magic cream, magic serum and collagen facial oil in a kit. Plus Beautiful skin foundation and radiant concealer. I already used the the airbrush setting spray which I love but I am the opposite of an expert. Ha ha Im 65 and just learning the new way to apply makeup. I watched a UA-cam from another Chanel adduct and was really impressed. So I’m trying to learn more about the eye palettes mascara and the brow looks interesting as the brush is tiny so less clean up than with the Chanel gel brow, for me anyways. Every other product I have is Chanel. I really like your style and honesty. Have a wonderful evening. Thank you
My favorite 5 are the sublimage concealer, waterfresh tint, No1 foundation, Mediterraneen quad (I’m close to finishing 2 of the shades 😢) and the blush from this spring. I have other loves such as the le volume mascara but think other brands are close. I agree with you on the new powder blush and I just don’t understand the new mascara.
Agree with you about the blush. My favorites are the oversized powder bronzer and Suzanne hydrating formula lipstick. I have repurchased those 2 and 3 times. Great video again!
I agree with you that new Chanel blushes are awful! Im cherishing my older formula of Malice, Rose Initiale, Friviole, In Love and Rose Bronze! ❤ Hoping not to hit pan too soon! 🤞
I just recently got into makeup, and thank goodness I got some of these iconic products before the reformulations. Including Dior eyeshadow, Chanel blush, and Dior concealer. :/
I also love the Water Fresh Tint but I get the same effect when I mix my Hydra Beauty Lotion Very Moist (which has a gel like consistency) with my No. 1 foundation and these last forever since the Lotion is 150ml and very very hydrating. The watery blush I didn't get cause I also thought I would not be able to work it on my skin, that it would disturb the foundation. I can understand how you feel about the new blush formulation. I always use a spoolie first to scrap the top and then dip my brush in it lightly though otherwise I become red. Can't wait to finish this one, to be honest I don't think I will as I don't use it that much. But I have some oldies which I love. I love the Rouge Coco lipsticks and I agree I find them more comfortable and hydrating than the Allure ones. The mascara I didn't get, I didn't really like the idea of pumping air into it which I gathered when I saw the mechanism. I very much like the Base Mascara, it makes my lashes really long and I do like the Hydra Beauty Tonique, the Lotion Very Moist and the cream. I enjoyed the Le Lift line but then found out about the alcohol in it which is so obvious you can even smell it in the new Le Lift Pro Serum. In general I tend to buy more Dior products lately and you have to try the Lancome Triple serum which Angela Van Rose uses a lot. It is amazing. It evened out the tone of my skin and really soothed it down after the use of acids which had made it aggravated.
I have save problem with the blusher. For years my ride or die was 'reflex' but I get halfway down the pan and it just refuses to budge. Its like it goes on strike. Also I have exact same eyeshadow pot as you. Is there anything I can do to rehydrate it coz its a gorgeous colour?. I dig around in mine for little product. 😪
I absolutely love the vitalumiere foundation. It’s the only foundation I’ve tried that gives that Angelina Jolie glow. I live in Geneva and they have it everywhere in 10 shades. The sales person told me that there don’t seem to be any plans to discontinue it.
My favourite Chanel makeup-product bar none is the Le Rouge Duo Ultra Tenue lipsticks - they are absolutely incredible! As a teacher I can't freshen up during the day as I run from class to class, so these are perfect. However - I have now been waiting since January for Chanel to restock their online boutique in my neck of the woods here in Northern Europe. It is so frustrating, 90% of the shades have been sold out since January and no signs of ever restocking. I have written emails to the customer service every couple of months or so (no reply to any of them). Sadly, no shops sell them here, so it's a frustrating wait. I am even flexible within some 5 shades but permanently sold out.
My favorite: Chanel’s eyelash curler. I use it every day. I know what you mean about the new blush formula. I own a single shade (Brun Rouge). It’s fine, but nothing special. Luckily I stocked up on shades in the old formula, because when I swatched some of the new formula shades in store, I got nothing. I thought they were dried out displays. Seems not. Such a shame.
I loved loved loved silver pink as a one and done. Agree it dried out fast though. But I so wish it had been improved upon, and NOT discontinued. Also agree the red mascara wand … not the best. But why mess with perfection… The LeVolume mascara is in my top 5.
Omg! I love the Vitalumiere foundation, but it’s been discontinued. My SA told me you can’t buy it anymore. Makes me sad! Sometimes in the winter that’s all I can wear.
I agree, the water fresh blush only works more or less well on bare skin. I do not use foundation, and still, it tends to be difficult to blend, and if I go over it for the second time with the brush, it lifts. I started to apply directly the color spheres on my cheeks to get better color paid off, but I won't buy it again.
I love Chanel but not all products work for me. I love the water fresh touch and the water fresh blush in intense coral works for me. Love the Camilla cream, and I love the lipsticks. lip gloss too. I don't like the mascara, and not crazy about the under eye concealer and corrector I purchased (it is not the Sublimage). I hate mostly the spotty inventory the dept stores. Makes me walk away from Chanel, after all there are so many great brands out there putting out creative new products.
I love the new Sublimage concealer, also the Sublimage foundation with the pump. ( I get compliments on my skin all the time while wearing these products, how smooth, etc). I love the Le Rouge duo ultra tenue, the BEST out there, and I have tried every liquid lipstick. Also, the Coco, and Rouge Allure lipsticks, great colors, and last decently. I have the Arthur lipstick as well, love it. I do not care for the rouge coco bloom, and the coco flash lipsticks. They only last a minute on me. I haven’t tried their eyeshadows in years, I love the Natasha Denona eyeshadows so much, I’m thinking if be disappointed in the Chanel The powder blushes used to be great, but I have not tried the new o es, unfavorable reviews.
Yes! I enjoy hearing top 5 and bottom 5 of brands we all use - like Chanel, Dior, etc.
Thank you 😊

They changed mademoiselle in recent years. It’s more mauvy now. I used to love it.
Their old blush formula was amazing. I hope they reformulate again back to the old one 😂

Thanks for sharing!! I love your list 🥰
Agree with you about the blush. My favorites are the oversized powder bronzer and Suzanne hydrating formula lipstick. I have repurchased those 2 and 3 times. Great video again!
Thanks for sharing!!
Great idea for this video. I agree with most of your points!
Yay, thank you!
I agree with you that new Chanel blushes are awful! Im cherishing my older formula of Malice, Rose Initiale, Friviole, In Love and Rose Bronze! ❤ Hoping not to hit pan too soon! 🤞
Hold on to those for dear life 😂
I just recently got into makeup, and thank goodness I got some of these iconic products before the reformulations. Including Dior eyeshadow, Chanel blush, and Dior concealer. :/
That is awesome! I’m glad you got them before their reformulations.
Totally agree with you about those cream eyeshadows but they are amazing so why don’t they just design a new lid that won’t dry the product out.
Right? That would be perfect.
Oh that's good to know! I know Angela likes Lancome a lot 💕
Darling you look so beautiful in this video i hope you feel betteri❤i adore tisse vendome it's one of my favourite palette🥰
Thank you so much! I’m starting to feel like myself again 🥰
Love your eye make-up!! Love you ❤
Love you too ❤
I have save problem with the blusher. 😪
I’m not sure it can be rehydrated at this point. Describing the blush as going on strike is excellent 😂
@@AllisonChase 🥰
Maybe try breaking down the cream blush on the inside of your hand? Try that and let me know if it works better to break down the blush’s pigment?
Yeah that’s not a bad idea.
I absolutely love the vitalumiere foundation. It’s the only foundation I’ve tried that gives that Angelina Jolie glow. I live in Geneva and they have it everywhere in 10 shades. The sales person told me that there don’t seem to be any plans to discontinue it.
Oh good to know! 😁
Ugh that is so frustrating 😩 But I agree with you that it’s an amazing long lasting formula.
I’m wondering if this still a pre film I do love it. Wondering how you are
Pre film 😘 I’m feeling better.
Absolutely true , these Chanel blushes are not the best in the market at the moment
Yes you have to scrape it to get some color out of it
It’s so annoying 😩
Merci Allison pour le partage🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺🌺
De rien ma belle 🤩😘🥰
My favorite: Chanel’s eyelash curler. I use it every day.
I know what you mean about the new blush formula. I own a single shade (Brun Rouge). It’s fine, but nothing special. Luckily I stocked up on shades in the old formula, because when I swatched some of the new formula shades in store, I got nothing. I thought they were dried out displays. Seems not. Such a shame.
That was smart to stock up. At least we can breath a sigh of relief knowing that they will ultimately change the blush formula again.
I use the peach color in the eyeshadow palet also as a blush
Oh good idea!
I loved loved loved silver pink as a one and done. Agree it dried out fast though. But I so wish it had been improved upon, and NOT discontinued. Also agree the red mascara wand … not the best. But why mess with perfection… The LeVolume mascara is in my top 5.
Me too! I love a one and done. Especially from Chanel because I think of them as an elegant brand.
Omg! I love the Vitalumiere foundation, but it’s been discontinued. My SA told me you can’t buy it anymore. Makes me sad! Sometimes in the winter that’s all I can wear.
💔💔💔
So when you want a tad more coverage which foundation pairs well over the water tint ? Or can you just spot conceal? Thank you ❤
You can do both, but I go into Ultra Le Teint for full coverage bit.ly/2WPqGuG
Hahaha the red eyeshadow😂😂
😂😂😂
Love your video. Agree on the Chanel blush. ❤❤
Yay! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing!! I’ll try it that way to see if it helps.
@@AllisonChase I break the spheres with the brush and never rub the product, but I spread it in a stippling motion. 😁
So make up artist Nikki La Rose suggested spraying “Hydration” mist from Jouer on this eyeshadow pods…I tried it and it worked!
Oh interesting. I’ll have to try that with the blush.
Chanel bronzer is amazing.
Same on the waterfresh tint ... I was so excited for the idea but its never worked for me.
I’m going to keep trying to make it work 😂
Hi Alli you too funny and cute. Loved this video
Thank you 🤗
Sublimage concealer, Ultra Tenure LS, Matte Velvet foundation. Only three, but a girl has to budget
We have to be smart 💸
Camellia water cream was the worst for me. It actually dried out my skin, I looked much older 😢
Oh no! 😩
I stopped using Chanel after changed there blushers made great ones into awful ones made them more expansive
That’s fair 😘🥰
I love Chanel but not all products work for me. I love the water fresh touch and the water fresh blush in intense coral works for me. Love the Camilla cream, and I love the lipsticks. lip gloss too. I don't like the mascara, and not crazy about the under eye concealer and corrector I purchased (it is not the Sublimage). I hate mostly the spotty inventory the dept stores. Makes me walk away from Chanel, after all there are so many great brands out there putting out creative new products.
Oh same! It's so annoying how they've always sold out of so many items.
🖤
😘🥰
I love your top picks! I can’t wait for cooler weather to wear that foundation again.
Hi allison ,l,m first you are gorgeous 😊❤ xx
