Awesome! Exactly what I needed. A lot more to in in HDRP. To anyone else creating their render texture in script, you need to set the format field to ARGB64.

Hello, what purpose is this for? Would it be for creating a map or is there a better tutorial for creating a map? Could it be for displaying maybe a character that you have in another scene in maybe a player menu? Thanks
Hello! so it can be used to display a character model in an inventory menu for example, or character selection screen, character customization screen, etc :)
Didnt work in my case, i set all hdrp profiles to R16G16B16A16 in color buffer and post processing buffer format and rendertexture to R16G16B16A16_UNORM and doesnt work either, it works fine in editor but not in build
did you managed to solve it?, im with the same problem, all fine in editor but a eternal black screen on the gameplay tab
