On the subject of a Kingdom Hearts I remake, I’d only want it if it’s outsourced or doesn’t take up too many internal resources from the KH team. We rarely get mainline titles as it is, and we don’t need a remake taking away development resources from new titles.
I think it would be great if an internal team did a remake of it - just not the main KH team. Have a smaller team of younger members working on it and cutting their teeth on the project, similar to how P3 Reload was done. It gives them experience with how the KH team constructs the game, combat system, etc. and experience in doing their own project. Then they can jump into the next project that will hopefully not be a remake but perhaps a KH mainline or spinoff or similar title that is more their own with some confidence from all sides as well as synergy between the teams. Now, do I trust that they would actually do this given how SE has handled projects recently? Of course not. But I do think doing something along these lines would help them create more games with less down time between them and build their next generation of developers that they wouldn’t get by outsourcing projects or putting their main teams on these projects.
Also regarding a remake of kh1. PERSONALLY for me, kh1's battle system is just too archaic. The battle system between 1 and 2 are lol let's just say kh2 has more pizzazz
Okay, so, I've never been one of those people who thinks that a game is too sacred for a remake or that somehow the remake will ruin the original. So in that regard, there's no reason to not do a KH1 remake. There's no denying that the battle system is a bit basic after KH2 and the movement set is a little clunky. But for me, I don't really think a remake is necessary. The game is still perfectly playable and aside from the fact that they wouldn't be able to add Tarzan in, like you said, because Disney no longer holds the rights, I just don't trust the KH team to do it justice. There is so much charm and detail in KH1 that I don't think the current KH team could ever emulate. Did KH3 show that they can get better with worlds? Yes, but the amount of disparity between good worlds and bad worlds was insane. In KH1, aside from the puzzle platform style of traversing the worlds, there's just all of these details. Like in the highest point of one of the "secret" areas of Hollow Bastion, there's an amazing cathedral point with stained glass. It's gorgeous. Or that you can grab onto and shimmy along the ledges of Traverse Town in the first district. Or that you can shoot the bubbles of Hollow Bastion with blizzard to allow you to stand on them. I just don't think they could do it well enough. I could be wrong. And if they did do it, I wouldn't think it'd detract from the original in anyway. So I'm not a vehement no. But it's not an enthusiastic no from me, either.
The problem FF has, I think, for the general audience is it isn’t a must play franchise. The games that most players probably know in the recent era 13, 15, 7R, and 14 are more often than not filled with really cheesy dialogue and bad writing. Look at how Capcom and Persona became successful in modern era. Release many titles that are consistent and have engaging must play dialogue and stories. FF still isn’t there yet since X. Looking at Giant Bomb, Minnmax, etc do their GoTY videos and Rebirth is not liked by the majority of those reviewers cause story and pacing. On top of that each game in 7 trilogy is going to have less players cause the bar to get in is even higher. 2 massive 60-100 hours to get in and even then the story requires you to know the entire compilation.
2035 i will be here ! Whishing peace and love also as long am alive for 3rd installment of ff7 let them blow all the world all i need its ff7 just one last time ..happy 2025 to All
