Makes no sense for a garage door opener/unit to be broadcasting wifi. smh.
Future generations will look back on how stupid we were to be covering every square inch
of our lives in harmful wifi/RF radiation.

A very timely video, Cathy. There is technically no reason that a garage door opener must broadcast -- it can listen passively for a 315 or 433 MHz key fob signal, or the infrared you mentioned. Or a coded hardwired press-button outside. I, too, fondly remember opening up the garage door by hand ... a rite of passage for a teenager and a prerequisite before getting trained how to drive. I am interested in which modern manufactured models in the US have zero WI-FI or Bluetooth components. These days, "newfangled" is so often associated with "injurious", sadly.

Crafty sleuthing.. Thanks Kathy! Very interesting.
In this age of the "Internet of Things", nothin surprises me anymore. And of these days we also need to be mindful of common devices participating in temporary adhock wireless mesh networks and other nefarious privacy invasions against our will.
I wonder if these devices have version 6 IP addresses rendering them uniquely addressable (from anywhere).
I'm interested in what I saw in the video around 3:23, on the stairs behind you. It's some sort of wispy black item that appears very briefly over your left shoulder (the right from our view). And very shortly thereafter, it also appears over your right.
Kinda looks like a projectile sock or a cat.... hopefully not a "metasticised mutant mass of wireless IOT widgetry gone amok", or something like that. haha
