Love the random generator/spin the wheel idea. I created one while watching and mapped it out on my planner for 40 days. It’s a great way to prioritize daily reading for me. Plus trying to get outside, to the library, and a coffee shop to read would be a welcomed change too.
Awww love the fair footage!!! When I was in Costa Rica for my internship a few years ago someone left an old copy of Sharks in the Time of Saviors at the front desk of a hotel and one of my teammates grabbed it for me 💙
Great video Gabby, I really enjoyed it! Love the random number generator hours of reading idea. It's always suspenseful what # is going to come up, and I love how you live up to it no matter what the number. I also like how did a variety of things -- went to a movie, read outside at that park, did a little swinging. Appreciated the dnf'ing and glad you found a few very good reads!
haha all the things you didnt like about I Was a Teenage Slasher is exactly why i loved it. on one level it was just a fun, well done slasher story. but i did connect to the characters and LOVED the friendship and the ending. it just all worked for me. but i also love My Heart is a Chainsaw, so i think you're comparison is accurate.
The Wedding People was so good so glad I took a chance with it, had me laughing and crying! Definitely agree with you that it was similar to Anxious People 💙
Here in Seattle, the storm was WILD too. Lightening all over the place! Our power flickered off once or twice and my internet box literally died???? lol. Had to go swap it out Sunday. Some kinda surge must have got it! But it was awesome to have such a storm.
I’m glad you liked The Wedding People. It made me more excited to read it! I just got I Was A Teenage Slasher, so I’m not gonna make the live show. Your review makes me lowkey not want to read it…but I’ll still give it a chance. I liked Bye, Baby. I feel like Carola writes suspenseful drama. I like her books tho. I like this challenge, I think it’s fun! 🥰🥰🥰
I got Bye, Baby for my birthday earlier this month and I'm even more excited to read it since you rated it highly 😁 Have you thought about trying to read 1 book a day? 7 books in 7 days😁
I love your vlogs! This was so fun to watch. You made the right choice in dnfing the Shari Lapena book. I read it and I was disappointed with the reveal. It's also written differently from her other books and I didn't like it
me and you have super similar ways we dnf or don't vibe with a book. Some people will say if you listen to books at 3 time speed, you miss out on what is said. Like it's too fast to grasp what is said. No. I hon in on what is said and I can get what is said. Not accents, some times I have to slow it down to get what they are saying. If I am not caring what they are saying, I am not enjoying a book. If it's interesting, it'll pull me out of a slump. It will make me care. If not, dnf and move on.
I love this challenge and I’m hoping to give it a try. I also want to do the swapping screen time for reading challenge too but they are such commitments 😂 Great vlog, Gabby!
the wheel really went hard on the first couple of days HAHAHA i wasn't initially interested in The Wedding People but now i am intrigued 🤔 also you are so good at dnf-ing???
I really like this reading challenge. I have been in the mood this week that everything I pick up I just don't feel like reading. So I have mostly been reading extreme horror. It's short and keeps me entertained. I have The Night Guest on hold on Libby. I am excited to listen to it. I was wondering whether I would like Not So Perfect Strangers and after you talked about what it is about I think I would like it. I really liked Bye, Baby. I read it last year, I think. I am older than you, but I have never wanted kids either and people always look at you like what is wrong with you. But I have always been happy with my decision.
Adding I was a teenage slasher to my tbr really like sound of that one , also I love love love deadpool and wolverine movie best film watched for a long time and that intro 😍
I'm so sorry you didn't like I Was A Teenage Slasher. I was surprised how much I loved that book and how much I loved Tolly and Amber. It was certainly confusing to understand if any of the things were *really* happening, but once I leaned into it, I loved it.
Omg I knew that was going to be your feelings on the pairing!! It definitely gets better and made me shed a little tear. But overall it didn’t do it for me either I’m so sad 😭
I call your experience with Shari Lapena the Mary Higgins Clark effect. She was my first thriller writer who wrote such shocking stories that were amazing until I realized about her 20th book that they were now formulaic. Heck, they are so predictable they keep publishing new books, and she has been dead for quite a few years now! Fun video, glad you brought back this style back!
You’re definitely not alone in having seriously kinda somatic issues with the description of vomiting!! I cannot even stand with unrealistic situation like something happening in possession kinda horror movies… I’m so sorry that you had to experience that through the slasher book…
I dnf the pairing as well. And I dnf, 3 books this month. One was a just for now dnf. And I am in a reading slump. But I have been in one, all summer long. I finished only 4 books. Luckily, nothing that I finished was below a 4 star. Love these types of vlogs.
I stopped reading books written by North Americans set in Europe because they always get me so angry. I'm an European myself and I have yet to find one that isn't either full of stereotypes or annoying 😭
I love your videos but unlike most of your viewers I watch your videos so I can check out all the books you hate because I have learned that if you love them I hate them but if you hate them I enjoy them 😂
Girl you DNF almost ever book is putting me into a reading slump 😩I actually kinda wish your wouldn’t add them in I’m only giving my opinion bc you asked last vlog
I love this video so much. I love this reading challenge, love the park scenes, and the fact that you painted your nails to match the book cover I’m dead🤍 Gabby do you have a P.O. Box address for fan mail? Sorry to ask publicly. Feel free to ignore.
Look at Tank just gazing out the window in the sunshine. That's me at work today. 😂
For sure want to see you do another one of these videos!!! Love them! All the reading vlogs from you this last couple weeks 👏🤗💜
Aw thank you!!!

I love that!!! 🥰
The Night Guest is my favorite horror novella this year-the short chapters really add to the tension, and the ending is really thought provoking!
I had to dnf 7 books this week so I love you mentioning what you drop.
I can’t imagine dnfing a book at 50%! I’d have to hate read it to the end at that point lol
Nope. Not me, I’ll def DNF and move on, too many books to get to !!
@@tc8404 yes I dnfs book 70% in idc I will just read spoilers
Yep! That's me. I'd have to power through in case it got better and ends up paying off at the end 😂
@@saly4762 exactly. 👍
@@saly4762 I dnfed The Cruel Prince at 70%. One scene sent me over the edge and I gave up. No regrets
“The writing style is a choice…” please 😂😂
You swinging in the park was the most adorable, wholesome thing ever!❤️
i applaud you for powering through this week because if i had that many DNFs i would’ve given up 🤣
I loved the new Deadpool movie too!! And now I’m really excited to pick up The Night Guest for spooky season! Enjoyed the vlog as usual 😊
So, The Wedding People has "dry humor" ? I love that. My turn on Libby just came up for the audio YAY. I'm in the mood for this. thanks Gabby
Every time I see Tank my heart swells with so much joy.
Obviously here for you and the book content but the FOOD… everything you eat looks incredible! 🤤
I’ve heard such amazing things about the wedding people!!
I DNF all the time. I will not waste my time on a bad book. Also, love these reading vlogs.
TBR is way too big to suffer read
Great vlog. So excited autumn is almost here 🍂🦉☕🍁🍄🎃📚🧋
I dropped everything to jump on this Vlog 😍
Thank you!!! ❤

I really enjoyed the Wedding People. I guess I need to try anxious people
Your description of I Was a Teenage Slasher makes me confident I'm going to love it 😆 I can't wait to pick it up!!
Not knowing what you’re in the mood for is so relatable.
Loved everything about this vlog!! ❤
I'm so glad that I waited for your review before buying The Pairing.
I'm from Iceland and you read an Icelandic author :D
queen i LOVE when you tell us why its a dnf and why you liked or disliked a book

not a fan of weddings in books, but "Rainbow Rowell meets Fredrik Backman"?! sold.
What a colorful vlog this was! You got through a lot of different things!
I love your vlogs! This was so fun to watch. You made the right choice in dnfing the Shari Lapena book. I read it and I was disappointed with the reveal. It's also written differently from her other books and I didn't like it
Yayyy new vlog! I've been waiting for a new upload all day ✨
🥰🥰🥰
This was so good! Love these videos, shame about The Pairing though, I may still try it but maybe just from library

Thanks Marcy!!! I’d love to watch you do a vlog this like 😍
LOVE THIS !!! Please more video like this 😄😄😄
Love love your reading vlogs!
Thank you!!!
These reading challenges are great :)
Don’t mind Tank, who has Gabby’s back 😂

girl you need to try avocado toast with feta and siracha drizzled on top. LIFE CHANGING.

Yikes I’m definitely skipping I was a teenage slasher but I’ll be there for live show 😂
Your fair seems so much more chill.. the Del Mar Fair in SoCal (maybe you went back in your SoCal life?) is always so insanely packed.
I 100% agree, I'm on page 97 of "I Was A Teenage Slasher" and I'm really finding it hard to follow 😕
I dnf the pairing as well. And I dnf, 3 books this month. One was a just for now dnf. And I am in a reading slump. But I have been in one, all summer long. I finished only 4 books. Luckily, nothing that I finished was below a 4 star. Love these types of vlogs.
Just want to say that I need that Pillsbury monster cookie dough! I haven’t seen it in stores where I live.
I stopped reading books written by North Americans set in Europe because they always get me so angry. I'm an European myself and I have yet to find one that isn't either full of stereotypes or annoying 😭
I might check out not so perfect strangers i rewatched strangers on a train last night i still enjoy that film
7 hours! OMG!
I Was A Teenage Slasher was a let down. Not sure what I expected but that wasn't it.
You should try no longer human by junji ito
I hated the other 2 Lana Ferguson books I can’t with that author.
We have similar taste in horror books and I disliked My Heart is a Chainsaw. I was thinking about reading the new one, but it may be a pass.😂
Good book 📕
I love your videos but unlike most of your viewers I watch your videos so I can check out all the books you hate because I have learned that if you love them I hate them but if you hate them I enjoy them 😂
I agree with your thoughts on The Pairing, just yuck!!!
💜💜
I pushed through the pairing and let me tell you, it was real boring. i should’ve just DNFed it. 1/5 stars
💛💛💛
I hated I Was a Teenage Slasher lol, the writing was boring and confusing
Hi
Girl you DNF almost ever book is putting me into a reading slump 😩I actually kinda wish your wouldn’t add them in I’m only giving my opinion bc you asked last vlog
Listening to audiobooks at a ramped-up speed is skimming, not reading.
@@donreadsalot4932 it’s definitely reading lol everyone reads at a different pace
10000000000% agree
It’s reading. Absolutely
I love this video so much. I love this reading challenge, love the park scenes, and the fact that you painted your nails to match the book cover I’m dead🤍

Thank you so much, I appreciate it!! And sadly I don’t have a PO Box, but I appreciate it ❤❤❤
