Remember when Punk said he had to pay for his own surgery in AEW and when Tony Khan was asked about this he said he'd look into it. Was there any further information?
Probably not
Perhaps Tony said he would pay for it but realize the doctor Punk was using charged more than he wanted so he told him he’s on his own…..😂 I remember a Nazi guy telling a Jew that once involving lawyers.
Can’t wait till Rock comes back and CM Trump whines that a colour man stole his ME spot at WM again
The disciplinary committee looked into it and officially stated "punk is a liar, liar pants on fire and furthermore a big doody head".
^Daniel Bryan actually said that on twitter
Holy Tony is a mark. Imagine fumbling the biggest return of all time.
Imagine spending a small fortune for guys like Daniel Garcia to walk out to the ring to no reaction
@@16dwreck facts. Guys in WWE are probably pissed, he making the same doing less work
Can’t hate unfortunately they are getting paid and I’m feeling jealous asf
True but his career isn’t going anywhere under Tony Kahn and he’ll never be in the hall of fame
Or the collective amount spent on keeping Action Andretti, Pizzeria Uno, and guys like Miro who don't even wanna be there anymore on the roster, on the payroll.
While WWE locks Rhea, who is well deserved to a 5 year contract, and pay raise @Punkinlunk
Tony pays wrestlers to hang out with him backstage and if they don't want to hang out with him, he pays them to stay at home. I think maybe he didn't have any friends before he started paying for wrestlers to hang out with him.
He was a very lonely child, I don't even think his parents hugged him.
@@DavidDexterGaming Also it's like emotionally he never got past the age of 11.
Hell I'll be his friend if he pays me. I could use the cash 😂
@@DundaMifflinhe is a 42 year old man with a 12 year olds mindset and a 7 year olds body.
😢Sad but true
That's a lot of fucking money just to draw 300,000 viewers.
Right? Lmao 329k viewers for their main show is HORRENDOUS!
@@THE_SKiZzLe23 It is worse than that because how these tv shows get sponsors is really done through the demographic numbers. Having a "demo" that is as low as 128,000 is horrific. Meanwhile people like Adam Page, The Young Bucks and Christ Jericho are making shitloads of money. When it comes to drawing numbers and merch those workers are a perfect example of the worse case situations in the company in terms of returning value.
@@prideglory99 Sasha and Okada are right up there too.
I'm amazed they can even get that many people to watch this shit.
Maybe Tony does a stripper equivilency in his maths. You know it costs $500 for a stripper to watch tony, so paying $500 for a person to watch aew is fair...
And Yes tony pays strippers to watch him, sources close to the situation have confirmed this.
Meltzers AEW contract is expensive
The way Daniel Garcia's new contract has been reported you'd think AEW had just signed The Rock. Not the same guy that's already been in AEW for years.
Aew acted like wwe wanted Garcia. No, they didn't. I don't buy for one second wwe had any serious interest in Garcia. It's just aew hyping themselves up for a reason only known to tk and his sniffy dust dealer.
Dont gell me they give MORE money.
@@richardcelaya7361If what I’m hearing is true
it's almost like a bribe when the person isn't worth nearly as much as they're offered
Rock’s ex-wife, Dani Garcia, has more name recognition despite not even being in the business.
None of AEW’s “talent” are big global stars. Nobody gives a shit about Orange Cassidy or Daniel Garcia, and if you showed a picture of them to someone on the street they’d say, “Who the hell is that?” They’re just glorified indie guys that were given a platform by the biggest wrestling mark of all time with the richest daddy. As it stands I wouldn’t even take the time to go watch Daniel Garcia perform in my local high school gym, much less fight the crowds and traffic to get into an arena and pay those prices. And the guys that AEW does have that could be considered stars, were already stars before they got to AEW. None of them were made “in house” so to speak. Historically their top draws have all been mostly ex-WWE guys. But they’re not focused on creating stars that will carry their company into the future like WWE is, Tony Khan’s just focused on smashing his real life Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay action figures together and watching them do a bunch of kicks and flips. AEW is the television equivalent of a Michael Bay movie, all style with no substance. It’s an expensive ass sports entertainment mud puddle that’s a mile long but an inch deep.
Just pay me 60k a year and I will sit around and do nothing... That's a bargain of the century if I do say so myself..
Nah I’ll do it for 50k a year
I’d be a seat filler for 60k a year.
I'll take 40k to sit at home 😂
Give me 60k a year and I'll make sure Dynamite is playing on a TV in my house every week.😂
Iron Sheik/WCW
Punks comments this year really summed up AEW as an organization. It’s not a business that’s meant to grow, make money and evolve. It’s Tony Klown’s boy hood dream of making fantasy matches come true.
They fired the only person who drew them ratings and was actually worth the money he was getting to do it (Cm Punk).
AEW's slogan should be; Overpaid and under qualified
The woman in your profile picture is stunning.
thanks guys
Wait until Cornette hears about the fact that the reason Tomy froze Rey Fenix and Penta’s contracts is (wait for it) he wanted to show the AEW wrestlers that he wasn’t a pushover.
Which is like Brian Cage trying to prove he’s all natural.
To add to what you’re saying I would assume that those two didn’t hang out with Tony that much so they were the perfect ones to make an example of
@@FantlinePenta and Fenix seem like actually cool guys. No one cool is friends with TK lol
😂
The only way Tony can show them that he aint no pushover is to put the AEW title on Bobby Lashley by booking him to squash Danielson on his debut.
AEW is a great pay day, but in 20 years nobody is going to want to sit in line for 2 hours to get an Orange Cassidy autograph....but I bet The New Day will make mid 6 figures for life just based on conventions signing boxes of cereal.
Keith Lee will be doing a gofundme in 5 years while Poor Walter is a multi-millionaire

@darrenpurves6150 I literally just saw all 3 New Day members in an Old Spice commercial. They’re more famous than anyone in AEW at least.
Keith Lee will become the next Ahmed Johnson! 🤣
Cannot wait for Jim’s reaction to this weeks ratings! 😂😂😂
Tony Khans' idea of negotiating with the talent is to ask how much they want and then give it to them 😂.
"He asked for less than I was guessing in my mind. I did GREAT!"
AEW is viewed as a "Utopia" because wrestlers can get all the money they want with minimal effort, regardless of their value to the company.
Or literally no effort in some cases, like Miro, lol. All he has to do is say "no" to Tony's creative and he gets paid to sit at home.
Andrade had a pretty cushy gig in AEW, too. Got to punch Sammy Guevara in the face AND got a vacation out of it.
Tony is a glorified piggy bank at this point.
And that causes them to believe they are bigger stars than they actually are ...
AEW started going downhill once Cody left.
It picked up when Punk showed up but it’s cratering now.
It's been down since the first battle royale.

Schrodinger's Wrestling
@@thelocalhero6036 How a company exists if no one is watching?

I look at it in two ways: For one, there are a LOT of wrestlers on the roster who I feel aren't worth what they're getting paid. When you look at the numbers AEW pulls in, you can't sit there and tell me that Swerve Strickland, Will Ospreay, Daniel Garcia, Mercedes Mone, Chris Jericho, Jon Moxley, and a number of others can justify the money they're making in AEW.
However, here's the other way I look at it. I'm glad for them because it's not their fault or problem that Tony Khan is an idiot and a glorified money mark. Pro wrestlers are supposed to milk the marks and, in this case, the biggest mark in wrestling is Tony Khan himself. As long as he's foolish enough to pay some of these people what he's paying them, then they should take him for every dime they can for as long as they can. As I said, it's not their fault he's stupid.
I don't even think those examples are the worst (minus Chris Jericho). The Young Bucks along with Hangman Adam Page have some of the worst rated segments and make more money than the rest of the talent. What do they bring to the table?
“All about the game and how you play it” 🔑

AEW have a wealth of young talent Yuta, Garcia, Fletcher, Top Flight and Private Party. But their stop-go pushes do harm.
If you can stomach an episode of Rampage you'll notice Top Flight and Private Party are completely washed. They've lost that explosiveness they had 5 years ago while never getting a chance to change their style or presentation.
EXACTLY. They can have a strong mid- card. But the young talent are same spot after 5 years cos AEW motto is do same thing; refuse to grow. As well, signing stars like Ricochet for that pop instead of pushing e.g., Dante ain't it.
the amount of talent isn't the issue per se, it's Tony's booking, he just puts matches together
Laundry list of problems but they keep quadrupling down.
Chris Harrington has my dream job... business strategist for a guy who doesn't care if he makes money. It's like being "procurement specialist" for the kid from Blank Check.
Except unlike Tony Khan the kid from Blank Check has kissed a woman.
So we know that everybody makes 6 figures in AEW. Let`s take Hikaru Shida as an example. She has worked 14 days so far in 2024. Let`s say she makes 200k a year ( I am sure she makes more as a former AEw womens champion). That would mean she gets paid more than 14k per match. Ridicolous.
I swear so many on the AEW roster are going by the phrase "work smarter, not harder." Okada is getting paid good money to barely lift a finger and he's one of their champions.
Hey hey it's not easy flipping the bird mid match and saying bitch like a villian😅
How dare you according to Dave Meltzer they are the most profitable non WWE company of all time and made a gazillion dollars profit??
AEW is a private company. They don't have to reveal finances like publicly traded ones. He can make claims all he wants, but AEW doesn't have to declare anything.
AEW does have to file taxes with the IRS. I can only imagine the write-off Shadid is getting.
Guy pays like 80k for guys like Malakai buddy to sit in catering and wrestle once a month lmaoooo
the gal with the horror gimmick is smart, she works once a year on hallloween and gets paid the entire time
Comment keeps being deleted. Jim should review CM Punk talking about how he became a Paul Heyman guy. Jim is mentioned.
On the No-Contest Wrestling Podcast recently. Just search on YT for it. Love to hear Jim’s review of it.
290 people divided by $60 Million is about $206K per person.
Not quite that simple. For example, all the "security guards" who get beat up will be in there even if only hired for a night.
Yeah there's no way AEW is making profit with these expenses and with a shrinking audience is almost guaranteed they never will turn one.
The snowmans aew playhouse lmao ☠️
...and they can't count on 5,000 consistently...
Gotta be honest… that’s less than I thought it would be, given the kind of numbers that have been thrown around for the contracts of Mercedes Moné, Kazuchika Okada, Will Ospreay etc. … I mean Okada was widely reported to be in the region of $5m a year, Ospreay was reported to be one of the top earners so he’d be somewhere around the $5m mark, Mercedes Moné was reported to be around $3m a year, so that’s something in the region of $13m per year just for those 3, with Moxley reportedly on $6m per year, Jericho I saw $5m reported in numerous places… so either the reported figures were incredibly wide of the mark, or potentially they aren’t listed as Independent Contractors and are instead listed as Employees
I've long been wondering if TK has access to injured athlete salary insurance policies through the Jags organization. There seems to be no worries about injuries, and lots of extended absences, unexplained illnesses, and people living off of Lanny Poffo deals. Would some of these be employees, or contractors? Are the Lucha bros on one of these agreements?
You would think. AEW supporters need to remember the Khan family are worth more than the WWE and UFC together. They aren't some rinky dink promotion started off by some guy who won the lottery (Wrestlelicious). If AEW allows access to good bennies and the company does payout, good on Khan/AEW.
"AEW will be profitable in 2025" maybe, maybe not. The business model isnt going to change, he will just have more WBD money coming in. AEW could be profitable now off the current deal if TK had a better business sense and didnt hire 300 wrestlers and pay huge fees for special theme songs and other nonsense. But we know thats not going to change he's just going to be emboldened further and soend even more
No way that includes all the talent, 30 million a year for 290 employees would average $100k a year per employee. We know the top guys are making millions and there’s probably 10-15 people making over a million. That has to be just like actual employees that work for AEW and not their talent.
The Plumber The Bucks and Jericho make 6 million a year alone each lol
Miro got the sweetest deal ever. Paid to go back to his home country 🤷♂️🤣🤣🤣
More profitable than WCW's entire run and whatever time frames Dave picked for WWF
AEW HOUSE!!! You're on double secret probation!!
Only TK would look at Marko Stunt, Banks and Jericho and think money well spent.
I'm waiting for Jim to talk about the Ratings like a Child is waiting for Christmas.Lol...😂😂😂
Boy Cody realised he was gonna end up in federal prison sticking around Tony Clown.😂😂😂😂
It's crazy how much B.S has gone on in AEW since Cody left crazy.
Trash.
RATINGS CORNY WE ARE WAITING 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
are we allowed to point out how silly it is for a country to have different laws in different areas allowing people to cherry-pick where they want to be prosecuted?
We all want wrestlers having options and multiple places to work but the contracts this dork is handing out are hurting the business. He's not hurting WWE, he's hurting the Indy feds who have no hope of coming close to Khan family money. Wrestlers making more money is ok but these people are making obscene money so they'll be TK's friend and it's kinda gross.
Right, overpaying hurts the business in the long run.
Love these graphics man, always the best
Punk literally brought Dynamite a MILLION viewers over their now so time low 😂😂😂
I don't blame someone for wanting more money, but I can't imagine goin out and working for aew and small ass crowds and low TV ratings
I didn't know Uncle Dave had a side gig of wrestling employment agency.
Tony giving out $ willy nilly
"You were under Vince. When did you crawl out?" 😂😂😂
There must be random wrestlers on that roster that gets paid every month and the company has forgotten about them
Like Penelope Ford. I forgot she was still in AEW .
Daddy Kahn is gonna get tired of Tony spending money
how has he not died of embarrassment?
He won't his money is increasing regardless. Crazy luck of fools to invent something that will be used for years..
All this paying for talent and yet none of them made a difference in the ratings cough mercedes mone cough maybe tony should stop hiring people and focus on the talent he has now even though the creative sucks tony is becoming vince mcmahon creatively speaking.
Or he could do something crazy like spend money on a training center so guys like Scammy Guevara won’t give out concussions like toys on Christmas.
Vince mcmahon’s wwe in its prime was a lot better than hhh’s will ever be
@@scentofslaughter8854well yeah but tony cocaine try to replicate that vinny mac formula and failed
@scentofslaughter8854 LMAO aw bullshit triple H has made WWE'S product 10X Better than vince did triple H knows what he's doing vince didn't tony khan is becoming vince because AEW'S product feels like what WWE was when the previous administration was in-charge so much for AEW being an alternative to WWE they through that shit out the window.
@cordero6960 vince mcmahon being removed from WWE is the single worst thing to happen to AEW because when vince was in-charge of creative WWE sucked and AEW was the alternative now that's not the case since triple H has changed WWE for the better.
Seems TK is hiring anybody for any kind of wrestling position. Which tells us what we already knew, he doesn't know how to run a wrestling company or book for a wrestling company or anything remotely related to wrestling. Instead of asking someone to run it for him and give the book to someone who knows what they're doing he instead hired the elite and all their friends and they made it about them instead of being a legitimate alternative to the wwe or trying to stand out in an already over saturated market for not just wrestling but any kind of entertainment or sports.
i think Tony could cut half the AEW roster and the TV product wouldn't change a bit. He pays so many people to just not do anything lol
He is an SJW . Firing talents every year is a Vince McMahon thing . Tony doesnt want to be seen in a negative light .
If the wrestlers want a potential opportunity to win a lawsuit, then they should sue for the work they do while in the state of California. Some minor league ballplayers sued MLB in California for being underpaid and won. Now minor leaguers make more money, are provided housing during season, and were permitted to join MLB's player union. California courts are far more worker-friendly, so maybe they'd rule that wrestlers are employees, not contractors. The only reaction that the promoters could have is to pay an employee compensation package for the wrestlers for their California work, or just not do business in California. I doubt that the promoters would want to lose several major cities by avoiding California, Idk. A wrestler-friendly decision by a California court should make it possible for the wrestlers to be admitted to the actors union as well...
5 years and 100s of millions down the drain and aew haven't created 1 major star comparable to any wwe top guy and still rely on picking up ex over the hill wwe talent while year on year all areas of his business is declining what a shrewd guy he is😂😂
But but they created MJF. But looking at it now, he starting to appear and disappear like the Ultimate Warrior. Booking him against Daniel Garcia didn’t do both wrestlers any favors. Then disappearing again.
Shame Tony can’t spend this money on good causes, instead of wasting it on this shit!
Between this lawsuit , legal fees , massive wrestler contracts...does that totally negate this yearly tv deal?
Thrown in production, other aew employees, etc then yes, that tv deal means nothing. Not that aew cares since it's all daddy khan's money.
@@NotAdultingToday oh jeez. Yeah. Renting empty arenas
I mean the TV deal was already meaningless. They only got a slight bump with wb taking more. If Tony didn't spend insane amounts of money then it would be a profit but as it is the company will never be profitable

I hope it’s 100
''A corporate disclosure statement filed by AEW confirms that the parent company of All Elite Wrestling LLC is Beatnik Investments LLC, and no publicly held corporation owns ten percent or more of its stock. The disclosure is a requirement under the rules of federal court, where AEW is trying to get the defamation and misclassification lawsuit moved.
This suggests that if Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD), a publicly traded company, holds any stake in AEW at all, WBD would have to own less than ten percent.'' This was the last source on AEW %, i suppose those 175 million on the renewal were to pay all the wrestlers because every single one of them is earning like 1 million a year. EVERYONE...
Garcia is an embarrassment to wrestling. You shouldnt be tougher than the wrestler you watch on TV.
Let’s be honest the more time goes by wwe got the biggest break by missing out on the bucks hangnail and the missed free agent ie ocody and ceo, the only one I think wwe would take atm is mjf and omega and they haven’t be on tv hardly

When you have that kind of money, it doesn’t matter. Hard to wrap your head around that kind of money.
8:35 Lmfao
If the wrestlers sole or majority income is from the promotion, the company legally has to cover workers compensation.Thats the part of the lawsuit I'm watching.
Everybody talks about the wrestlers being made employees but there's also another way to address this issue. They could keep the talent ad independent contractors but allow them the rights and freedoms that are supposed to go with that status.
They would never do that, because an independent contractor has a right to work anywhere. Tony would never want any of his talent showing up in wwe at the same time they work for aew. As unlikely as it is to make them employees that would actually happen before they let work wherever
Oh one thing aew gets right is that they’ll definitely take care of their talent. They’re paid very well. That is the one thing I could never criticize AEW about.
Crazy to know these days Hughie & Butcher is gunning for Tony Khan’s bank account.
It’s as if WCW didn’t die. It just evolved into a bigger mess. Are you sure Vincent Russo isn’t booking the matches while Tony Khan is hog tied and gagged in a giant trunk in the AEW office?
Pa sucks
Some of these men and women are being paid like main event stars and haven’t been on tv for months.
How many Vice Presidents do they have?
call it what it is, a bribe to be tony's friend
Logic would be make you're cheapest wrestlers employees first
Rumor is that the WWE is interested in Luther. According to my sources, WWE plans to sign him to a long term deal.
Disclaimer: WWE also expressed interest in Jericho when his contract comes up. WWE feels like Jericho will not be resigned worth seven figures a year. (WON)
Man I wish I could run a dirt sheet. I could make wrestlers rich!
All Expenditure Wasted.
AEW itself hurts the wrestling business just by existing when it shouldn't. It's not a business, it's not even capitalism. Other companies have to worry about making money and all sorts of other variables involved with profit, while AEW doesn't have to worry about any of it. It's bad for wrestling in ways AEW fans can't even fathom.
There SURELY must be somebody out that cares enough to want to pay Shad Khan and buy AEW, just to fire Tony and save the company, right? Right?!
Farbeit from me to defend Tony Khan and AEW. But who are they to make anything a class action suit? 2 wrestlers 99% of Wrestling fans wouldn't know looking at them, and one E String announcer?
The dumb thing is, had these issues been dealt with through HR, this stuff could've been avoided in court. The wrestlers felt slandered or defamed after Khan mentioned them. Tony, whose family owns businesses worth billions of dollars, should've known to SHUT THE F--K up about terminated employees.
How much will TK dole out to KO? 7-10 milly?
The problem for AEW is every real big name WWE has that could’ve went happened already, so now what lol
After WBD’s cut, whatever remains of 175m a year will cover for Tony’s toy collection.
rememberthat he 290 is over 2 yearas. doesnt mean 290 completely diffferent people, could be 100 or 125 that are the same people BOTH years, leaving the difference for 1 shot or sshort term workers. these, naturally would account for a smaller amount of the $60mil then the the contracted/long term workers who would really be employees in any other type of business.
$60mil diivided by290 workers is $209896.55 per person. I doubt jobbers or 1 shsot pull ins would get that much.
Can you imagine the premiums on. Pro wrestlers health insurance? Lol. I guess they could self insure.cnot really big enough tho.
Did WWE/Vince McMahon pay for Roman Reigns' leukemia treatments?
Dong Castle?
Explains why Wrestlenomics are so pro-AEW
“If he gets a brain tumor…”, most of the AEW guys wrestle like they have brain tumors, maybe that’s why they’re getting paid so much.
I find American attitudes to unions and workers rights so strange.
Propaganda corporations show to workers and people pass on to people. Plus there are some unions that are corrupt. I’m part of one and I hear they make side deal agreements with upper management so they can break the contract and not pay out grievances for breaking them. It’s sad though. But the system that runs everything made it so. Billions flow into our elections every time for that reason to keep the status quo. You can get a President who’s pro union in the US and he’ll force a contract through for the name of saving the economy. F the workers accept the deal.
The guys in Jacksonville they make anyone and everyone over there no respect for this thing of ours
