Yeah, she's got class like being friends with Cuomo, being an "animal rights activist" for PR but then being paid by a fur company to work for them, etc. etc. etc.
@@whodeycinbengals …. Your point is probably true as the financial burden doesn’t exist, but her comments do indicate some sentimental attachment and appreciation for certain watches.
that story with the Italian's GMT was epic. highlight of the vid! I even looked him up (Roffredo Gaetani Lovatelli), he's a count and died in a car crash. A boxer, Ferrari dealer who dated Ivana Trump at the time of his passing in Tuscany

I love watches and I absolutely adore, admire, and respect Brooke Shields. I worked with her on "Army Wives," and she is a true giving actor and human being. Her professionalism, kindness, intelligence, and work ethic, is only mirrored by her passion for a positive life, and that energy and spirit shows in her watch collection. Thank you for sharing a beautiful journey and collection through the eyes of a beautiful human being.
Great episode. I can watch this episode over and over. Brooke is so genuine and passionate about her watch collection. She loves her timepieces. What a beautiful collection of watches.
Classy women of my contemporary had a natural connection to watches like jewelery. Great to see her again in her mature age. I bet Cindy Crawford has an amazing collection as well.
Really enjoyed hearing the stories behind Brooke Shields' watch collection. I like how her collection reflects the evolution of both her professional and personal life. Completely unpretentious and totally authentic. Thanks for sharing.
Brook just got way cooler in my books, I've always admired her appearance but never got into any of her shows or movies, but because I like watches and seen her in my youth and decades later find out she's into watches, she's really cool. [Edit] I really loved her stories about her mom, grandma, and dad and how they were into watches and her progression from the brand, to stainless, to gold, then diamonds that is awesome especially if you're able to do that. On another note I like the new interviewer, he's pretty cool too, nice one Hodinkee!
I’m 57yrs old and like many others had a crush on Brooke as a teenager ( we’re about the same age ) now seeing she is a watch enthusiast kinda brings back that old spark! By the way she is still gorgeous .
The fact that she tried to return the GMT to the guy's brother highlights just how different this was to the Talking Ex-Boyfriends episode. Lovely collection, and such a cool, classy woman.
I grew up with a crush on Brooke and after watching this video Brooke hit a wonderfully cool level with her humor and how well the watches are worn day to day. Fun video, really enjoyed it!
This is one of my top 3 episodes . Its gives me more happines rewatching it maybe more than the john mayer even. I am not a woman but maybe its because i like the style of the watches so much. And the conversation definitely. God bless her and Hodinkee.
Awesome, everything you'd hope for a watch collection to be- glamorous, storied, classic, beautiful. The 80's gold has such a warm tone now, looks great, like Brooke .
It's fantastic that she connects each watch with a particular phase of her work life. It's these connections that give these inanimate objects meaning to our psyche.
This is way better than the Bethenny Frankel Talking watches. I know there are all kinds of watch collectors but Brook Shield seems to be less superficial about her enthusiasm of high horology.
This is still the best watch series. People with real stories about watches. Love her collection because it shows that she appreciates the pieces and actually wears them
This one was great! Lots of interesting conversation. The one with Bethenny Frankel though… one of the worst UA-cam videos I’ve had the displeasure of watching.
To me, she is one of the most classically beautiful women of all time. Then, to find out that she is not only a watch collector, but also a watch WEARER (I didn't see any case queens in her collection), well, it's game over. What a lady!
Hodinkee and Brooke: what a pairing. Enjoyed the article, the video, and most importantly you bringing the collection to us. Brooke has always been someone with impeccable taste, who knows what she likes and has the ambition to get it. I am so impressed with each of the pieces, the stories behind them (the GMT, wow) and her pairings at the end. Well done. If I had a fav I’d say the 34mm AirKing: the fact that it was a wedding present makes it amazing, and I love the dial color.
She is so much more than just 'an actress I've seen here and there over the years'. She is JCV, Magnum PI, and Princess Diana... amazing episode, thank you so much!
Just when I thought Brooke Shields could not get any cooler. She so is and super creative. What a queen and goddess, her personality and laugh is the best. Adore her watch collection, they are badass, fashionable and glamorously in a masculine way stylish. She is 💯 a Gemini! My faves are retro vintage looking ones. Thank you so much for this! 😍🥰😘👑💎🏆⚜️😎
Firs time I’ve ever commented on your channel and the reason why … What a beautiful woman and I would of never guessed that she was a watch collector… 😊
Love that we went from “the face” of the watch to dial within the vid. Thank you, Hodinkee. I cringe every time I hear the former, while the latter confirms true appreciation of the timepiece being discussed.
Yep, I admit I do the same. Can’t help but think they aren’t too dedicated as an enthusiast because they haven’t done their homework. Not a huge deal and to each their own, but does make you wonder. Some just aren’t into the technical aspects when appreciating watches.
The fact that she tried to return the GMT master after the original owner passed away just shows that she’s got class. A lovely episode of TW.
Yes, not many people would ever do that!
Yeah, she's got class like being friends with Cuomo, being an "animal rights activist" for PR but then being paid by a fur company to work for them, etc. etc. etc.
Absolutely! and the brother's response was pure class, too
Googled the name. He was like 11 years older than her. Knowing her history in Hollywood that icks me the wrong way :/
You can really tell she wears her watches and doesn't baby them. Very cool interview and great to hear Brooke's perspective on watches.
I assume most celebrities don’t baby their watches as they can, more often than not, easily replace them.
@@whodeycinbengals …. Your point is probably true as the financial burden doesn’t exist, but her comments do indicate some sentimental attachment and appreciation for certain watches.
I'm a woman watch enthusiast, so I'm very happy to see Talking Watches with a woman. More please!
This was actually WAY cooler than I thought it would be.
Brooke Shields strolling around with a GMT-Master is a level of cool I can only imagine. Great video!
Way before it was popular too! Haha
that story with the Italian's GMT was epic. highlight of the vid! I even looked him up (Roffredo Gaetani Lovatelli), he's a count and died in a car crash. A boxer, Ferrari dealer who dated Ivana Trump at the time of his passing in Tuscany
It had to be an italian to do such crazy thing to impress a woman :). And that worked ! she remembers him decades after.
class and honesty. She is a great and humble person. Well done Hodinkee.
This is what watch collecting is all about, regardless of gender, status or age! Well done Brooke - all class!
The fact that she contacted the brother of the man who gave her the GMT so he can have it back speak volume about her. What a fantastic woman.
Pure class
Finally! A woman who appreciates watches that didn't get them from a boyfriend. Please more women that know about watches like ms. Shields herself
But she did get the GMT from a boyfriend though.

This is my favorite interview yet! Brooke is such a genuine person and her collection seems so personal to her. Keep up the good work Hodinkee.
Great interview. I really appreciate Brooke’s collection. Each watch was carefully thought out and had an interesting story behind it.
One of my favourite Talking Watches, not pretentious, fun, and definitely an enthusiast. Would love to see more like this.
Props to Brooke. I really enjoyed this episode. Great timing dropping this during the holiday season , somehow feels right.
Great episode. I can watch this episode over and over. Brooke is so genuine and passionate about her watch collection. She loves her timepieces. What a beautiful collection of watches.
I have always been a huge fan of Brooke. Now that I know she’s a ‘watch girl’ I love her even more!!! Excellent video. Thanks Brooke for doing this!!!
Wow, what a warm soul and she’s a great representation of a true collector.
I love how she has watches from her teenage days still with her! Such an awesome collection and interview.
What a fantastic collection full of stories since she was a teenager.
This episode is so much better Than the “talking ex-bf” ep; it’s not even close. Another great ‘talking watches’, thanks hodinkee.
Agreed 100% much better. going back to its roots
They def learned their mistake, aand i guess Cara quit Hodinkee because of that video.
Which video are u referring to?
All the Hodinkee soft boys who won't let that other episode leave their minds & have to bring it up every time are so sad. Move on.

What a class act Brooke is. Thoroughly enjoyed this episode.
Very cool to see that the watches get worn and enjoyed as everyday essentials. The dings, scratches and residue show proof of that…

Legitimately one of the best Talking Watches episodes to date. Love that all her watches are super well worn
Great episode! It's nice to hear from someone who values the emotions and experiences you can tie in with a collection.
A most perfect Talking Watches episode. Thank you, Hodinkee.
Captivating and insightful, and wonderful to watch and appreciate. Thanks Brooke and Danny, IMHO this is going down as one of Hodinkee's best.
Refreshing to see such a spectrum and history, especially from a lady like Miss Shields. Great video, Hodinkee!

What a lovely lady and interview. She seems so warm.
I got the notification for this and was like, "okay." I'll check this out and I'm glad I did. She's definitely an enthusiast.
Thank you from an American former New Yorker living in Morocco. I love all your watches and descriptions and stories behind them.
I really enjoyed her enthusiasm. And I like how she describes Rolex as a blend of rugged and luxury. That combo is why I love the brand, too.
What an amazing collection! Every watch represents a snapshots of a life well lived. Perfect interview and a wonderful person.
