that's what I love about him. He usually acts like a dumbass but in a positive way - just being himself all the time and he has a great sense of humor :) such a down to earth and funny guy. That's the basis of metal in general - act like a dumbass, have idiotic humor (in a good way) - not hurting and insulting other people around you, just making fun of yourself and especially being yourself all the time, which is, in my opinion the basis of any metalhead.
Randy Beltran he's amazing! Saw him last night! 2 bands played before him and he would come out running throwing water bottles to the crowed! He stole the show! Children of bodom were the headliners but they got alright half way thru the set. Abbath should of headlined
emilio olivas Children of Bodom headlining is 100% about marketing. So in that sense it was a good move, but Abbath puts on a fucking awesome show and I agree that he's way better
6:37 "try not to disappoint people" There's few people in the music industry with that mentality. And this guy happens to be one of the protagonists in the early black metal scene. This guy is my idol. A very humble, down to earth person.
What's cool with Abbath is that he appreciates all kinds of metal. Yes, Immortal were black metal, but they always drew a lot of inspiration from 80's bands, and even older eras.
Abbath got his start as a songwriter partner with Ted Nugent. Some of their hits include “Wang Dang Sweet Poontang” and “Yank me, Crank me”. They’ve been compared to Lennon and McCartney.
@NightWolf....Fair enough, it looks like all "godfathers" of BM aren't that serious as they would make it look 20 years ago.Fenriz claimed once wearing corpsepaint all day, everyday.Look at him now haha.King Diamond's a pretty cool and down to earth guy.Even saw Cronos eating chickensoup once at a festival. For years i thought he only drank blood of virgins...get it? It was more of a statement about the people behind the "vibe" of the music...
Abbath, 2016: [As musicians] "we're not here to fuck around." Abbath, 2019: "Ole, ole, ole, ole!" Dumps guitar, nose dives into the audience, cancels the entire show.
I kind of see him like the Beastie Boys. Early day godfathers that no one took seriously, until all of a sudden 20 years later, they're absolute genius!
@@Easun36 No bubble bursting here. I never gave a shit about the "evil" crap..Ofcourse Fenriz didn't run arrans with corpsepaint. I never believed that. "They" sold that shit to the world and i never fell for it. Great music (also by Varg) I get the whole thing about rejecting "sell out" Nonetheless is it awkward for an "outsider" like me to see those "evil" people being funny and light hearted. In opposite to their dark image and gimmicks they'd created. Thats all
He doesn't act so serious all the time, has a great sense of humour. Abbath is the king of the Raven Realms!
I don't think he ever acts serious :P

I wish more people behaved that way in life in general.

I think we can put "Abbath" in a dictionary with "A guy you can have a beer or two with".

Abbath is funny AF. I adore him.

What's cool with Abbath is that he appreciates all kinds of metal. Yes, Immortal were black metal, but they always drew a lot of inspiration from 80's bands, and even older eras.
Most of the second wave all grew up on 80s. Just an age group thing

That a guy like Abbath plays black metal is almost a paradox in itself hahaha..This guy is crazy!
I kind of see him like the Beastie Boys. Early day godfathers that no one took seriously, until all of a sudden 20 years later, they're absolute genius!
@@Easun36 The early BM scene were pretty serious about their "thing". Abbath seems to be a joker (not in a bad way) instead of a "grim" personality
