  • We show the difference between the old and the new ways of programming. We chose a part and asked two engineers to make the same welds using two programming methods:
    - Teach-pendant programming that was developed decades ago by robot manufacturers
    - Automatic programming with ABAGY using AI and machine vision.
Watch the video and find out what the results are!
    00:00 - Programming Race. Rules.
00:48 - Weld Types. Tasks for robot programmers
    02:40 - Race starts
03:26 - How to program with teach pendant (the traditional method)
05:30 - How to program with ABAGY (the new method with AI and machine vision)
06:50 - Robot with ABAGY starts welding
11:04 - Task is completed. Weld quality with Abagy
12:35 - Tech pendant programming: need to program each point of the robot's trajectory
13:36 - Difference between the two programming methods
17:00 - Robotic welding vs Manual welding
22:49 - Tech pendant programming continues
24:29 - Finally, the tech pendant programming is completed, robot welds
25:38 - Race results: compare weld quality and programming speed
    About us:
We are a team of engineers who have developed cutting-edge software that makes robots more flexible and intelligent. In our lab, we test a wide range of robotic equipment. Join us! Let's share experiences in using robots and explore the possibilities of automation together.
Here are some of our topics:
    - How is robotic welding different from manual welding?
    - Main Types of Robotic Welding Processes, particularly Arc Welding
    - Types of Welding Robots, including cobots

Leave comments if you have any difficulties with programming.

I left a comment now it`s not there now. I was making a smaller one that would sell like hot cakes. It went in the Floods. If you could make compact one. I would make you guys money for sure. I would love to be the first to try it. Too much to write

Just found your channel. Very interesting. Robotic welding has come a long way in a short time. New subscriber.

It would have been nice to compare the robotic welding time with manually weld time. The manual welder should also be allowed to use a positioner as that would improve quality and speed. In my welding shop we still do things manually - with positioners. However, I definitely want to learn more about the technology. We have a structural plasma robot that does all our cutting and it is quite simple to program - we create DSTV files using SigmaNest from our Solidworks files. It seems to be similar technology but applied to welding.
For your structural steel solutions, do you supply software for any of the big vendors such as Voortman, Ficep, Peddinghaus. We are considering their solutions.

How would start implementing this into my business? I work in integration and we use vision however still program everything by hand

What`s the Price of the program or complete system. Could you make a smaller unit for Home use. If you could make a compact unit. It would sell worldwide. I love to be the first one to try it. I was working something like that but ran out money. Everyone love my idea. Lost it all in the Floods here in Australia.

Thank you for your interest! We also like to be first. Now we work only with industrial solutions.

Is the old method a coordinate measurement machine (CMM)?

In this video, we compared programming with a robot teach pendant and using software that does not require programming. We did not mention the coordinate measurement machine (CMM)

Great I would like to know how to get into the AI robot business. I have done some welding with ABB robots. It is not too hard.

Very interesting and impressive but they need to sort out the crater fill parameter, sounds awful.

Thanks for the comment. Welding knowledge and technology is extremely important. The production specialist knows HOW to weld and can set the correct welding parameters, and the robot can complete the task with those parameters.

When you have hundreds of components and a dozen robots or more to produce these components, the manual method is to slow, but it's good for small batches or one off's. The AI method is way faster and more efficient and flexible to work with and use.

Adaptive intelligent robots are most effective for high-mix production. The main advantage is the ability to easily switch from one product to another without robot programming. In this sense, a robot can be as flexible as a human.

and absolutely unreliable. but never mind that.
