Great product. It works. Thank you
Great to hear!
Great video man !
Thanks! I appreciate that.
In order to remove the oxidation, you have to use a 0000 Steel Wool Pad with Heavy/Lights Metal Cleaner or An other Metal Cleaner. The 0000 Steel Wool Pad removes the calcium covering the oxidation. Simple Chemistry Folks!
Thanks for the info!
I hate chemistry but it works well..
Just use rust stain remover. Coat it with it for like 5 minutes. Wipe it off, then polish with good paste. Put something like Coatz 02 Absolute Metal Coating.
@@jameshenderson5385 guess it’s not simple chemistry lol
@@jclasshawkins5952more like dumb chemistry lol
Thanks for the video. I'm gonna do this to my 09 c350 benz
No problem 👍
I will be picking this up today. base on another review, they used grade #0000 steel wool and tape for no mess. My 2013 Buick and my fathers Passat both have white stains on our window trims. I'll be trying out the Passat first since it looks like it has heavy water stains, in some spots it looks like the coating itself may be coming off. Hopefully I'll remember to come back on the video after I do mine.
That sounds like a good plan! Yeah, use the tape LOL. I had stuff in the cracks for weeks... Good luck! Thanks again for checking out my channel!
Haha, I tried a polish today. No good. I to saw the video with 0000 steel wool. Will try again tomorrow. Makes sense to work as I’ve polished other things with steel wool. So steel wool then polish is the go I reckon.
Ben Howard Good luck! Hopefully you have good results 👍🏽
The ppassat trim is marred, but the white oxidization is removed, whatever was on it it ate into the clear coat. The Buick cleaned up, but in some areas is better than others. Do a good job taping off. This shit is a bitch to get off if you accidentally leave some on rubber. It worked well cleaning my exhaust tip.
@@nenadmomcilovic9133 Try some mineral oil on the stained rubber trim.
Thanks for showing me that this was a waste of time and mentioning getting wrapped cuz that’s what I’m doing now
Stomach Hurts LOL...Yeah, wrapping it is the way to go. Besides, I think the black trim looks better anyway. Good luck! 👍🏽
It does work great... Thanks. What about the front chrome grille? It seems to be another material... How can I repair it? Is it plastic with chrome plating?
Glad to hear! Yeah, the front grill is plastic with a chrome plating.
I tried this with the trim on a junky car same as mine to test (late 80s GM). Worked very well, but I think I may have actual metal trim. Some of the really rough spots required the 0000 steel wool, which left faint scratches but still looks 95% better than before. I did it by hand, and using a little bit of water with the polish and steel wool. The jar says it has to turn black to work, and if it doesn’t turn black then stop or you’ll ruin it. Mine turned black.
Mine turned out to be a mirror like finish very quickly. One thing I found was getting it to show on photo/video was damn near impossible. What looked brilliant in person still looked dull on my phone. What I had to do was put a dark object to reflect against, then the shine really showed. Or get it at a really shallow angle.
I put some wax over it to hopefully seal it from future tarnish. If that works after some time I’ll do this on my good car.
That’s awesome! Thanks for sharing your experience.
I have the same problem
Used this to restore my uncles exhaust tips (chrome) but it didn’t do a thing for the window trim. Still hazy and no reflection
Yeah, it help some for me. But there is still room for improvement...I actually changed mine to black with Superwrap sprayable vinyl wrap. ua-cam.com/video/lAI47vSHrwU/v-deo.html
How can I make my window trim chrome ?instead of black ? some of it peeled off but I just want all the trim to be chrome
I think most of the window trim nowadays is plastic with a chrome film over it. So getting it “rechromed” may not be an option. You might just have to just replace the trim. Or maybe you can use chrome vinyl wrap (instead of black) to wrap the trim. Probably will have to wrap all window trim so it matches.
i use turtle chrome polish on my 2008 bmw . i get good results. i use a very thing layer while application and let it totally dry to a haze, like waiting 30 min before starting to polish, and then i polish with much rapid hand movements like 5 strokes up and 5 strokes down per second using light pressure. sort of like shining a leather shoe. you will get much better results, like mirror level shine. good luck.
I love that stuff 💯I was wondering you think it works on plastic chrome trim? Like those newer Hondas?
Didn’t work for 2014 Chevy impala 😞
Oh no. Yeah, it had mild effects on mine. Others have suggested using a steel wool pad.
clay bar works great
Thanks for the tip!
I tried it, it does nothing
@Sean _ soapy water works great
@@shegzr7812 yup same here
Hi sir.. you can just open the door and easily wipe window trim.. wasn't that hard. 😅
Lmao. Was waiting for this comment
what scared me from using it is it literally says not to use it on chrome on the bottle
These are not chrome. These are aluminium trims.
It's not chrome. It 's abs plastic with chrome coloured paint on it.
Takes for leaving a comment. 👍
So does it mean it's risky to polish it in case the chrome paint layer rubs off?
@@bowieknife you can polish it a bit, watch out it dont gets to hot.
@@E36andE46vlog thanks
No it still looks the same lol
It didn't work 😊
Try Aluminum Restore. Instant shine. Leave trim on car.
Thanks for the tip!
Aluminum restore
Waste my money its not working
U funny looking bro 😂
Could you fill it more out of focus, I can still make out that it's a car. thanks 👍
too much speak for easy job
Thanks for feedback
Others prefer details. It's impossible to please everyone.
BRO TRY WD40 it does the trick man!
Thanks! I’ll have to check that out
I've heard this as well. I know it serves as a great cleaner for plastics.
Don't get WD on your car paint. Over time, it will lift up the paint slowly but surely. In about 6 months you'll notice where the WD-40 seeped through.
