Nice to see you out there still getting fish! Do you have a "How to pick your first bass baitcaster combo to buy" video? Or something similar, if not would make for a great video. Been wanting to get into it just not sure where to start. Thanks Tyler!
Good stuff. The pond for lure #2 is one in my neighborhood, and I'm relatively sure I’ve landed that same 3.5lb before based on the dark spot on the top lip on a similar shallow crank. It is cool to see water I’ve fished on the channel.
Love the content! Your positivity and love for Christ are always refreshing and help brighten my day. As a newer bass fisherman that just moved to Tennessee your videos have been a huge help! Keep up the good work!
Well ask and I shall receive. I literally was stumped today what to throw, was throwing a chatterbait but I got snagged on someone's lost line and broke off lol 🤣
Hey Tyler, if you get a chance to read this i got a question for you after watching this video and trying some of it, as well as following BassForecast recommendations. I'm just south of the wisconsin illinois border and i've been throwing my pumpkinseed-colored 1-inch squarebill, ned rig, wacky rig, frog, couple different spoons, thunder cricket, mostly just listening to the fall time recommendations, and... at my usual quarry lake i am seeing bass up in the shallows but when i drag whatever lure i'm throwing near them, i'm watching them actively swim away from it. Is this something i'm doing wrong in the retrieve, or is it lure selection? Or are they simply not hungry? What conclusions do you usually draw if you can't get a bite within an hour or two, even during a bite window, even on days BF has between a 5 and a 10? Hope all is well with you and yours, can't wait to catch up on 100 Ponds when the water starts to ice up 🙂 Edit: for context i should add, i have had a wildly successful year through the spring and summer following your tips and BF recommendations. The quarry lake i refer to gave me multiple largies over 3 pounds, which according to several witnesses might be among the biggest in the lake (it's not very big). It's only recently with the onset of fall that i've started having trouble again
Last month i was slaying bass with the mepps syclops spoon Gold color but then they stopped this last week, so i went out an got a sqaure bill crank bait and bam landed some mo sters today 😂 love your content ❤ thanks for all you do.
Just found this channel. Loved the video. I too fish ponds in North Texas. The issues is finding public places to fish. I appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Looking forward to future videos.
Glad to have you around! And don’t worry about “private” neighborhood ponds. I’ve fished hundreds in DFW and only been kicked out of one once by an overzealous homeowner
Thanks Tyler this helped me a lot going, fishing in a few days and this will help me know what to throw. Keep it up Tyler God loves you unconditional and never stop loving him.
Great and timely video for me. Thank you Sir for posting the content you do to educate an old man like me who finds a lot of value in your content. It helps me in many ways become much better and more informed. Much love!
Idk what it is but I feel most confident with a crankbait usually kvd sexy shad I miss the chartreuse one....I throw it usually year round prolly because I caught most my bass on it...I do have luck with the Googan squad bandito bug though also
Hey Tyler if your reading this I’m a huge fan and you have helped me catch some of my first bass and was just wondering if you had any tips on how to catch bass that are like very picky becuase I have a pond like down the street that I just caught my first bass in but I haven’t caught another decent size one like that. I was also wondering if you ever fish for saltwater strippers becuase that is my dream fish and I think it would be cool if you have tips on them too. Thanks a lot for the help
Nope! You can still catch em on topwater on a nice day, and a small crank, jerkbait, or vibrating jig until the water is in the low 50's, then a jerkbait really takes over
What are your thoughts on plastics like the senko for October? Took it out to my pond about a week ago and was catching bass left and right, but then last night I took it out again and didn't get much. Was still getting a decent amount of bites, but could barely get any hooksets for some reason. I only have two rods (medium light spinner & medium heavy spinner) so I need to be a bit more strategic with the types of lures I'm throwing. I usually have the lighter rod rigged for soft plastics and creature baits (texas rigged usually) and my heavier one is running a braid-to-flouro setup with a snap swivel on the end of the flouro for quick lure swapping.
Senko should still be working! Sounds like your issue is a hookset power issue. I’d recommend throwing soft plastics on a M at the lightest. Get you a 7’2” M Mach combo. Baitcaster. Will help you out tremendously over time
@@TylersReelFishing Good looks! I checked last night and apparently both of my rods are medium, but one of them is a bit longer. Think my smaller one is 6' and the larger being 6'6". Been looking into Baitcasters a lot recently so I'll give that one a look. Appreciate how active you are with your community!
Hey Tyler love the vids keep it up btw I recently got a Garmin fish finder do you have any important recommendations when it comes to using a 2d fish finder
@@TylersReelFishing so just know where water levels are so I know where to fish also my lake is lowering their water levels by about three feet and a decent bit of where I fish is shallow then drops off quick do you think that will improve the fishing bc they are more confined or will it hurt the fishing bc the fish will get stressed ?
I’m assuming by display you mean lens. Either a 50 macro, or a 24-70, and a slider so I can slide the camera in and out, at whatever focal length I want
i need you to come out to AZ plz!! i’ve been having trouble catching out i throw the whole tackle box and nothing! i’m sure my retrieval might have something to do with it but i’m sure you’d kill it out here, so plz plz plz😢
I think this advice is great but i have one question. where did you get the strike king bitsy dawg? i looked on takle wherehouse and the strike king web site and cant find it.
Crossposted on BassFishingHQ: You and BassFishingHQ released your Oct lure videos about ten min apart. You are all "downsize your lures" and he's like "the bigger the swimbait, the better". This is why i love fishing - the endless opportunity to tinker, tweak, and second guess yourself followed by the rush of getting it right once in a while.
For sure! Also, one thing that may influence his experience with this month, is that the bigger bait fish get active sooner up north than they do down here
The shad are in my river in Ohio so I have been using a strike king 1.5 squarebill in gizzard shad and sexy shad and catching alot. I saw a bass chasing a shad today and tossed out a bps tourney series bleeding shad popper and it hammered it. I got it in and it was a 20 inch 3lb 12 oz Fish Ohio Largemouth! 2 of my 3 biggest fish this year have come on that $2.99 popper! Lol.
I swear my pond is cursed. Afternoon on a 90 degree day I can catch everything on a Wacky rig, but if I try it early morning it's like I'm throwing cardboard. I'll be glad to see it cool down and test out what they want. The thirty degree swings throughout the day have them very picky at the moment, or they just have so much bait fish to feed on they could care less what we are throwing. -Southeast Missouri
Thanks for watching! Don't forget to shop for your tackle using those links in the video description!

Yes, here from Canada (Toronto) and this for sure helps this time of year. Thanks!

There is a need for light shallow spools for light lures. Smaller bearings also helps
Well ask and I shall receive. I literally was stumped today what to throw, was throwing a chatterbait but I got snagged on someone's lost line and broke off lol 🤣
I like the stealth chest mount for the go pro that is clever

Nope, I shop on Tackle Warehouse, and I would recommend you to as well. I always have my links in the video description

The corner videos were off a little bit, but another great video. Thanks Tyler!
The shaky head one isn’t out yet, that’s why they are off. Will be fixed once that video comes out
Enjoy watching this style of videos very helpful and helps improve my fishing
Glad to hear it!
another banger filled with tons of info. thanks, Tyler!

Great video as always Tyler. Im sure I can apply some of this here in Southern California
You should!
Love your videos. Great 👍 info, like the way you get to the point and not just talk to compleat a video. Tight lines
Glad you like them!
Tyler what lures can i throw when there are no baitfish or bluegill in my lake or pond? only bass

Howdy! Drop shot and shaky head. I have a shakey head master class coming out Saturday or Monday
Ok Thankyou
Tyler I caught my first October fish ever today and it was a bass on a crank bait
Let’s go!
Would you change your advice for colder water? I live in Colorado so the water is in the 60s.
Nope! You can still catch em on topwater on a nice day, and a small crank, jerkbait, or vibrating jig until the water is in the low 50's, then a jerkbait really takes over

I'm in Colorado btw so the temps are getting down into the 60s and 70s for highs, and 40s-50s for lows. I mainly go out at night.

Yep! Search “TylersReelFishing jig”
Awesome content like always. Keep up the awesome work ..
Appreciate it!
Nice video Tyler. God Bless.
Thanks, you too!

Learn your mapping VERY VERY well. That will tell you where to graph

What is your setup for those close up videos of those baits? Talking mainly about the display not necessarily the camera equipment
I’m assuming by display you mean lens. Either a 50 macro, or a 24-70, and a slider so I can slide the camera in and out, at whatever focal length I want
@@TylersReelFishing I just meant the background and area that you put the baits on to take the pictures
Tyler is that a new LEWS rod you were using in the beginning?????
Yep! The Elite rod

I think this advice is great but i have one question. where did you get the strike king bitsy dawg? i looked on takle wherehouse and the strike king web site and cant find it.
It’s not available yet. Thought it would be by now

I'm here before 1k views! That's cool! Hi Tyler!

It's disturbing how warm it is here today. 30C (86F). I'd rather have it be 14C to go fishing in.
(Smiths Falls, Ontario. Not far from Ottawa)
It will cool down… eventually haha
Let’s go to Somerville

You should offer a lures of the month thing where I pay $25 or whatever a month and you send out a package of this month's lures.
That’s what MonsterBass is for
