I just started building confidence in jigs this spring. Decided to make my own. First day fishing with a jig I made I caught my new pb. A 5 pounder. Thanks for always putting out this top quality content. Definitely the most educational fishing youtube channel.
I’m a 48 year old woman who really appreciates your content. I have learned so much from you! In fact I greatly impressed the guy at Scheels when I bought a new pole and rod last night! Heading out to do some jig fishing this morning. Wish me luck!!
I love the 100 ponds series. I jist wish I had access to better ponds where I live in Wichita Falls, Tx. We have 3 in the area but only 1 really has some decent bass in them.
Caught my Pb on a 3/8 jig. 12 pounds 20 inches around, 26 inches long. Was the greatest moment fishing and it was just early this month. Cant wait to catch another chunk.
I watched this as well as read the many comments from folks saying they did the same, went fishing and finally made a good catch/multiple catches, and sure enough I can now say the same. Snagged my first catch with my 1/2oz standard jig, a 4.3lb bass yesterday. Was stoked. Thanks for the great tips!
I've recently started fishing a 5 to 6 acre pond near me. I've caught a number of 1lb and less bass but nothing big. I knew there had to be at least a 5 pounder in there but there was no real discernible cover I could see. There was however a wooden depth pole in the middle of this small bay. It was 13' deep. I had just seen this video so I tied on the exact same jig and craw you had, threw it right to the pole and let it sink. That bass grabbed it and took off before I even realized it was on there. It was more luck than skill on my part but I reeled in a 4.5 lb largemouth. Not bad for Colorado. The 5 pounder is still in there waiting for me though. I definitely need a stronger rod and heavier line. A medium light spinning rod and 8lb fluorocarbon isn't going to cut it day to day. Thanks for another great bank fishing video.
Well holy crap dude! After watching all of your jig videos and applying it and learning it I've developed some confidence in this lure. Today though... I caught my new PB, a 7 pound monster! Yeehaw!! I was shaking, screaming and hollering once I got her in. Thank you for your tips and keep them coming!!
honestly i have been looking for over a year for this kind of video. I don't have access to a boat, and this is exactly what I was needing. so Thank you for this.
Thanks Tyler! Love how you show techniques from the shore and boat. Really appreciate what you do and how well you explain everything. I’ve been fishing for many years but never had any confidence with jigs. Will definitely give this a try at the pond by my house!
Thank you for stressing the fact that jig fishing takes time to build confidence. Spent all winter watching your jig (and vibrating jig) videos and committed to working both this year. I have caught some monsters (for northern Indiana) and catch when everyone else is scratching their heads. Thank you!
It's great seeing your enthusiasm without going overboard. I do love throwing jigs, all styles, it's probably the simplicity of the lure I like. Thanks for the info. and keep up the good work.
I don’t really trust a lot of advice but Tyler you have changed the game for me. You know your stuff, wish you all the success man. Support from Texas!!
Hi Tyler. Tonight I caught my first bass of the year on a jig from shore. Then I caught five more. Your video helped give me some confidence to fish a jig. Keep up the great content!
Perfect timing on this video as I just ordered 9 jigs and 400 yards of 17lb fluorocarbon last night. Summer is coming and a Jig is my confidence lure this time of year.
This is the video that helped me catch my first jig bass last week!! I've always been a chuck and wind fisherman - throwing swimbaits and lipless cranks - and learning to be patient and slow hop a jig was excruciating but man did it pay off! I appreciate all your instructionals. Thanks for all your hard work :)
Black/blue jig with a purple or some kind of junebug trailer is MONEY. 1/4 oz is also a pretty sick weight too if your body of water is super pressured as the slightly slower fall rate can get the bite when the 3/8 just doesn’t
Thanks Tyler, I wasnt sure about which trailers to buy for the jigs that i have, this video taught me exactly what i needed. Love your knowledge bro, THANKS!!
I have yet to catch a bass on a jig. I'm a pond fisherman. I just bought some skip jigs. Please do a session on skip jigs and your technique. I'm 85 but I can still learn.
Hey thx ima be buying the pb&j I never had luck with black and blue jug there’s big bass at this pond like 12 and 13s caught out of there trophy bass pond hopefully I catch one on a jig
I've never had luck with jigs; however after watching several of your jig videos I went out today and caught 7 bass. It's tricky feeling the bite. I lost as many as I caught but I can't wait to go out and do it again.
I love me a jig, I've caught more 3 and 4 pounders on a jig then any other lure and it always seems that no matter what, I can catch them on a jig! Great video Tyler, awesome info and the quality of this vid is S tier! Keep it up!
I use a PBJ jig. What color of trailer would you recommend. I live in Lake Havasu. I like your instructions. Unlike some of the other videos where they just show people fishing.
Your like a younger version of flukemaster haha love the channel I found a perfect pond jig this year it's a zero gravity jig falls super slow but the bass hit it on the fall worked really good in the spring when you need to keep it in that zone a little longer
Awesome! Hope my videos can help! And if you decide to purchase some jigs, enter tackle warehouse through the links in my video description for literally anything from any company you purchase 👍🏼
Thanks for video I do pond fishing I don't have a boat I've used a jig but no luck maybe I'll try it again.i love using soft plastics better more luck on those but I'll try a jig again
Hi Tyler, one time I Texas rigged and creature bait vertically instead of horizontally. I caught 5 bass that day. That might not seem like a lot but that was that nature camps record
Ive fished jigs all my life my personal fav being dnl jigs but no matter what jig I fish I've never been able to catch them on it a pond this video really helped
I just got a bitsy Bug mini jig in white and red the other day, 1st time out caught 2 3lbs bass in the first 10 casts by just flipping it by cover and hopping it. I think I fell in love with Jigs
Ha! Just posted about this before I saw your comment. Have same exact problem with snot weed or algae or wHatever that stuff is. I have to use swim jigs only.
@@DavidBronstein1961 haha yeah i feel ya. like i said the 1/4 oz doesn't always come back clean but better than a 3/8. and i still feel you can get those bigger jig fish on a 1/4
We are in New Hampshire and do lots of pond fishing. Lots of grass and Lilly pads and some stumps here and there. The problem we run into is the ponds aren’t deep, maybe 8ft at most and the bottom is always mucky and weedy. Hopefully we can learn from this video on how to fish jigs
Green pumpkin jig and rage craw has been the most bitten bait in my bag at the very pressured local bass ponds oh and a Whopper plopper(almost bone color from walmart)just after sun down landed my pb from there 5lb.
