Most videos showed what kind of bait to use but yours was the first video that actually showed how to properly use them. Turns out i was doing it all wrong. Im excited to take him out after watching this and learning how to do it right. Hopefully we will actually catch something now.

Great video!! It explains everything really well. However a great tip on the Texas rigged baits if your fishing around a lot of cover or grass I’d recommend after you run the hook through the last time on the bait to pinch the bait forward and have the tip of the hook just barely in the skin of the bait. This will make it totally weedless and also keep you from getting hung up and losing money.
The first bass I ever caught was with a whopper plopper. I’ve been hooked ever since. I had it for a long time. Bought two weeks ago I was casting under a bridge and broke the fin on some rocks

A lot of influencers post videos on lures but not many actually show people in detail how to present the lures with what you should do with your rod. You NEVER disappoint. Keep up the good work and God bless.
Literally watched this before I went on lunch, I walk across the subdivision and fish on lunch. I cut a 6 in red worm down to about 4 inches and split the tail (cut most of the long tail off, left about 1.5 inches), did your "let it sink then raise it 2-3 feet" and draw in the slack method. Caught 5 fish in the first 20 mins and a total of 7 on my lunch hour. Jesus were they destroying that worm!!

Thanks for the refresher. This is a great video, and I appreciate what your doing. I'm getting my son into fishing and he likes watching these videos with me. He loves the underwater videos where he can see how the lures react in the water. Do you think you can start adding some underwater footage?

Now that I have retired I want to learn as much as I can and have even more fun fishing. Thanks for taking the time!
Fished as a kid but just now got back into fishing as an old adult. This is by far the absolute best video I found for us beginners. Had to watch more than once. Soooo much information.
How do you switch lures if you use a hook and put a plastic worm and then switch to a spinner bait bc with the spinner bait you have to tie it on, do you just cut it off?
Palomar has been proven to be the strongest knot time and time again. Also worth noting that for braided line, there are really only 3 knots that are actually slip proof, again, Palomar being one of them.
Man I love the way you break down how to fish... your info is more educational to people that are beginners who need to learn how to rig, retrieve, and use the gear to make them a better fisherman thanks
Love all your videos! You have great energy. The only thing sticking out in this video is that you’re referencing clock position wrong. Imagine the clock facing up with you are at the center of the dial facing the top of the clock at “12”. Six O’clock position would be behind you. Anyway, keep up the great work.
Excellent video! I have no idea why you do not have a lot more Subs Sir. Continue creating great videos and teaching us new anglers amazing techniques and skills.
Your videos are awesome. Thank you! Just started bass fishing and I love your beginner related stuff. Very helpful. Already having success out on the water! Now I'm hooked 😉😁
I am all about that bass and you can sure catch em I made a bass video lately caught over 50 smallmouth bass I 2 hours mostly around 12 inches but it was a great day but now with winter approaching all I can do is watch others fish lol I would do ice fishing but I am only 15 so I can’t drive to a spot!!
I live in Wester Oregon, all our ponds this time of year full of weeds. From my experience anything with an exposed hook or wire gets hung up, i say for that matter anything below the water. I have just been using top water frogs as it's the only way I can figure out how to fish bass without spending time between each cast pulling a pile of weeds off. I am new to larger mouth fishing and am super frustrated. Most days I can't get a strike on the frogs. I have watched countless videos including many of yours and I don't see people on UA-cam fishing water that is like in Western Oregon. The ponds are shallow most are 6' or less most are less. Any suggestions? Worms work great before the weeds take over the ponds.
Man!! i've just started fishiing, i've been using these all wrong on top of being impatient.....lol thanks for being so thorough in the explanation. just gained a subscriber
In your beginner tackle box video you purchased two different weights. I watched the linked video on how to fish the lures you bought but never saw you ues the weights. Do you have a video on weights, when to use them and what size ?

Even for someone whose been fishing for years, bass fishing for little under 15 years; this is always nice for refresher. Might use it for pond hopping backpack kit!
First off thx for all your videos ! I think I may have a good idea for you. Especially for beginners… let’s say a fully spooled 6.1.1 gear ratio for example and a half spooled 8.1.1 in comparison what does this equate to? As obviously the amount of line on that spool should make a difference in how it actually does what it is designed to do? Or am I wrong ???
You’re not wrong! Spool filling affects ratio for sure. I don’t see the need for that video though, as I always recommend filling it all the way anyways so the gear ratios work as they are supposed to
Bill Dance taught me one of the most important rules of thumb. when fishing any lure if you even think for one second you're getting a bite simply set the hook like you know it's a 10 LB bass. More times than not you will hook a fish. IT Don't hurt NOT ONE LITTLE THING to set that hook even if no fish is even there. Most times there will be fish
It's been forty years since I've targeted bass. But thanks to you, watch out bass this spring. I'm ready to get back into it. Keep at it young man. Your going to go very far in your career.
Randy you can watch videos where to generally locate bass in different seasons. During spawn season the best lure to use is top water. Walking baits buzz baits spinning baits. Also, a bobber 2 inches below the bobber a swivel with 8 inch 30 lb leed line with a baitholder hook with a ribbon tail worm with proline nightcrawler attractant. Kvd splash is an amazing bait to use in spawn an during the summer. It imitates a minnow by keeping line tight an snapping rod tip like a jerkbait. Also if you have a slight amount of slack jerking the rod tip it makes a unique sound like a bluegill. A shallow diving jerkbait can work well a suspending jerkbait for shallow water if your a shore angler.
When locating fish 1 cast on spot. Retrieve bait fast, also vary retrieve fast from 2 to 4 seconds then pause. Vary pause times. If you get a bite in an area then you fine tune retrieve by going fast 2 seconds super slow 2 seconds then stop. Vary pause times start with 3 seconds then vary it. When tracking bass don't try to catch them yet your just locating where the bass are. Using this what is mentioned works awesome I've used this an this helped me catch alot of fish. Once you find an area where bass are fish for 10 to 15 minutes then move if bites die down. When picking a new spot retrieve fast for 2 to 4 seconds an vary pause. If you use same lure an no bites switch lure or soft plastic.
Earned a subscription good videos man. My dad died when I was super young his favorite hobby was to fish today was Father’s Day I went fishing in memory of him. I caught 0 fish but found a Native American spearhead!
definitely earned a sub here. I also recently got back into fishing and am trying to learn as much as i can. Since i've been out i've had 3 fish on that all spit the hook in one way or another (2 were smallmouth that got it out on a jump) so please please please do the line tension video. And if i could make a suggestion for that video or even a separate video, could you (if you haven't already) go in depth into line poundage, and how you can know when your line is at its limit weight-wise? I've always been paranoid about snapping my line trying to get a snag loose even though its never happened, and i think it's causing me to use line that's too heavy for a lot of the fishing i'm doing. you do great work, and i'm about to binge like a dozen more of your videos. the clarity of your explanations is simply fantastic and the presentation is great. I'm glad i found your channel!
Shake rod tip 2 to 3 times to see if it's stuck on brush or grass. If you get feed back in rod tip as it begins to flex then suddenly the rod tip flexes deep an bends quiet a but that's how you'll know. Always shake rod tip slightly that's how you'll kno if it's a fish or not. Pretty easy to figure out. It's fishing basics to shake rod tip
Your knowledge and how thorough your explanations are really do help beginners and the average angler. I've always pissed on and off my whole life but in the past year I recently got a small bass boat and have been trying to fish every chance I get. I needed a refresher and this video was perfect
Thanks for the video! I have just started fishing and had to hit pause due to weather but I plan on getting my gear ready for next season. I am so excited learning so much about this hobby. It seems my next trip to Bass Pro Shops will be inducing some pain into my wallet but hope the initial hit is just that and then the spending tapers down. I'd like some feedback as literally I have just fished 4 times EVER. I plan on three rods (already have them, just saving up for my last reel). One is for lures I didn't know about all these types. I think the plopper would be my best best (surface) I plan on buying one light color, one dark (blue/black per your other video recommendation). Then for the second rod I would use a hook with a plastic worm. Although I am thinking maybe I should use the jerkbait instead also Texas Rig. Quick question, do all Texas Rigs need the weight? I bought some red tungsten weights, they looked cool I don't know if I should get black. And also I will get one bag of each light color and dar. Finally I will have a third rod with a slip bobber setup, which is how I started fishing, to use with nightcrawlers live bait to get small fish when I go to small ponds. Hope you are not super busy and can help with tips. Keep up the good work. I saw your music channel so blessings to you as well. Cheers, Javier
Thanks as always for the great content. What rod or combo are you using to throw your jerkbaits? You're throwing them weightless, and they have so little weight to them...what are you using to get some distance (and no bird nests!)

ya love to see a trf upload
He should do it more 🤨
I do it 3x a week homie!
Just getting into fishing, found this all very informative! Thank you!
Heck yeah! You’ll really enjoy the last year of content I’ve made then 👍🏼
Great video Tyler, I wish they had these when I was learning. That being said, I always pick up new tips on all your videos.
I think we all wish we had these types of videos!
Thanks for the refresher. This is a great video, and I appreciate what your doing. I'm getting my son into fishing and he likes watching these videos with me. He loves the underwater videos where he can see how the lures react in the water. Do you think you can start adding some underwater footage?
I try to when I can, but I just don’t have access to a pool, or any kind of clear water to swim in
I have fished as a young man but only followed what I saw, never learned much about how to fish. I found your videos a few days ago and they are amazing, I am a beginner even at my age but I have already learned a lot. I have subscribed and joined! Now that I have retired I want to learn as much as I can and have even more fun fishing. Thanks for taking the time!
Hope you enjoy retirement!
Awesome video!! Really enjoy the details on using the baits.
Glad you’re learning along with us!
keep it up! this is amazing to watch. Getting into fishing and going out with my daughters i need to look like i know what im doing haha.
So glad that my videos can help y'all!
Dude I wish I had seen this video a while back
Palomar has been proven to be the strongest knot time and time again. Also worth noting that for braided line, there are really only 3 knots that are actually slip proof, again, Palomar being one of them.
I love the palomar
When the pond or lake that you're fishing is low do you change your technique compared to when the water is up higher?
All depends on if the water took certain grasses or cover out of play. Usually it does, so yes it changes my plans
This kid is amazing.
Great job on this one man. Awesome video for these guys just starting out. Fundamental reminders for more experienced anglers well. Nice man nice!
Thanks bud!
I tried a whopper plopped for the first time after watching this and caught my PB largemouth at the TN river near Neyland stadium at 6.2 pounds.
Very helpful. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Man I love the way you break down how to fish... your info is more educational to people that are beginners who need to learn how to rig, retrieve, and use the gear to make them a better fisherman thanks
That’s my goal! So glad you are enjoying the videos
Good stuff
Thanks for doing these informative videos. So very helpful
And thank you for watching and commenting!
Love all your videos! You have great energy. The only thing sticking out in this video is that you’re referencing clock position wrong. Imagine the clock facing up with you are at the center of the dial facing the top of the clock at “12”. Six O’clock position would be behind you. Anyway, keep up the great work.
You got what I meant though lol. Thanks for watching!
"Let it sink." Great news for me as a beginner who birds nests my bait caster every 5th throw. The line has plenty of time to sink while I fix it!
Haha great!
Thank you. Fantastic Video!
Excellent video! I have no idea why you do not have a lot more Subs Sir. Continue creating great videos and teaching us new anglers amazing techniques and skills.
I do have a lot of subs! Keep sharing my channel with all your friends though and I’ll grow for sure!
im gonna send this to my friend who is just starting to fish
Heck yeah! That’s a great thing to do
Your videos are awesome. Thank you! Just started bass fishing and I love your beginner related stuff. Very helpful. Already having success out on the water! Now I'm hooked 😉😁
So awesome! I’ll be doing plenty of beginner videos this fall
@@TylersReelFishing I look forward to it! I like them all. Especially the uncut stuff.
You can certainly fish it fast and swim it my friend.....slow down dont be so xxxxxx
Yep!
Whenever you have a fishing question or technique you want to learn, search “TylersReelFishing ____” and in that blank, put the topic you are curious about. Odds are, ive already made a video about it👍🏼

Tyler come to East Tennessee. Do like a fishing meet and greet. You are my favorite you tuber to learn fishing techniques.
I might next year!
Heck yeah Randy!!
Awsome video man keep up rhe awsome video man
definitely earned a sub here.
Just watched this. Very well done. Thank you. I am now a subscriber. 👍👍👍
Heck yeah great!
Dude Tyler sorry I’m 10 months late but this helped a lot I just caught a 5 pound large mouth bass
So cool! Congrats!
is sinker required for bass fishing? if not, how to cast the lure further? pls kindly explain, thanks!
The format of this video is excellent 👌...more like this please 🙏
I will!
Arguably the most helpful fishing lure video on UA-cam 👏
Wow, thanks!
Search “TylersReelFishing weights”
Thanks as always for the great content. What rod or combo are you using to throw your jerkbaits? You're throwing them weightless, and they have so little weight to them...what are you using to get some distance (and no bird nests!)
