- Pat is back with another UPDATED version of her 6 Step Tote Bag Tutorial! We changed the recommended interfacing for these bags to Bosal In-R-Form Double Sided Fusible Foam. Sew-along with Pat as she makes one of her FAMOUS tote bags, using her fool-proof 6 step method! This tote bag is made with Cotton/Canvas Fabric, Vinyl, In-R-Form Double Sided Fusible Foam, and Webbing.

Supply List:
-2/3 yds Main Fabric (Print)
-1/3 yds Double-Sided Fusible In-R-Form Foam Interfacing
-3 yds webbing
-1/4 yd of Vinyl (OR 18" x 27" Precut)
-¼” OR ½” Double-Sided Basting Tape
Cutting Instructions:
-(2 pcs) 18" x 24" (12” ON FOLD) Main Fabric (Print)
-(2 pcs) 18" x 5 1/2" of Vinyl for bottom of bag
-(2 pcs) 42" Long of Webbing (2 pcs 24" for Short Straps)
-(2 pcs) 18" x 11 1/2" of Double-Sided Fusible In-R-Form Interfacing

PAT DAHLING! I JUST FINISHED DESIGNING MY SECOND TOTE BAG KIT (TASTE OF SPAIN) AND SHE TURNED OUT SO PRETTY! I PUT A VINYL POCKET IN THE FRONT, TURNED OUT FABULOUS, BUT I GOT TO GET MORE BASTING TAPE FOR THE WEBBING (I USED HEAT N BOND INSTEAD). I SENT YOU ALL A PICTURE OF IT. NOW I WANT TO MAKE THE SAMANTHA BAG. CAN YOU LET ME KNOW WHEN YOU GET IT BACK IN STOCK? I LOVE YOU GUYS!

this is an EXCELLENT TUTORIAL! And you hit it on the head about the more you make bags, the better you get in doing it. SO TRUE! I design and create bags, but i do mine a different way but i love this way also. YOU GAVE GREAT TIPS ON EMBELLISHING. AND YOU ARE RIGHT ABOUT "TAMING YOUR LEATHER" woo! Faux leather can be a beast in handling. but i just got a teflon foot for my Singer 4411HD sewing machine. i hope she works out with this.

Just finished my second tote. I finished the seams because it was canvas but then I made a binding to encase the seams. Love it.

OKAY MS PAT ONCE AGAIN YOU BLEW UP MY CREATIVE BRAIN TO SMITHEREENS! LOL! I JUST ORDERED THE "QUEEN PEACOCK" BAG KIT AND YOU GAVE ME A FANTASTIC IDEA ON EMBELLISHING THE BAG AND THIS TIME, I THINK I WILL GO WITH SHORTER WEBBING HANDLES (THE KIT IS BLACK AND GOLD (TWO OF MY FAVORITE COLORS BESIDES SILVER, RED AND BLUE) AND PUT SOME INITIALS IN THE MIDDLE OR A COOL ASAIN DESIGN (THANK YOU CRICUT!)

hunny! the baisting tape is your friend! it is so useful! i use it all the time in working with bias tape.

You can always just make the dimensions a little smaller! Happy sewing!
Would it be too bulky if you added an inside lining?
Since vinyl stretches, put the tape on the vinyl so it stabilizes.

Could you French seam ? Just cut the side of foam away from sides too? Loved video
Hi, we think that would work. Just remember your bag will end up being a bit less wide this way.

why are you putting top bag to bottom of vinyl
Are these bags lined?
They are self lined int he top portion. The vinyl bottom is not lined.
