Now that I'm more experienced I've realized you can use whatever interfacing you are comfortable with, but when I was a beginner and had no idea I got so mad bcuz I didn't know what fusible was and didn't know the difference from interfacing and other things lol
Yes. I AGREE. I see so many tutorials, where they don't give you enough information and it just doesn't feel right. It seems obvious that they don't want to share any tips to help the subscriber to be successful!
These little totes are just so cute! Thank you for an excellent tutorial. You are a terrific teacher and give very detailed instructions. They’ll make great gifts for friends!
Thank you SO much!!! My little granddaughter loves "little bags". I am a quilter, and I have made big Tote Bags before, but I wasn't sure how to create a little bag for her, until I found you on UA-cam. I LOVE the way you describe everything in detail. It is extremely helpful. I have watched your video a few times now, and I am about to go and start the little Tote Bag for my granddaughter - Matilda Rose. Thankyou again!! I have subscribed, as I want to see what else you can teach me, even though I have been quilting for 16 years....I can still learn new things!! Love from Sue in South Australia xxx
@@chicnscratch Thanks Angie! I didn't start the Little Tote until quite late this afternoon, but I have all the pieces cut our ready, and ironed nicely, and I even made a little pocket out of the same lining fabric to put inside the bag for Tilly as well. (I had to watch a different UA-cam Tutorial to learn how to put a pocket into a bag for that!!) Ha...ha... I was pleased that I have at least STARTED sewing again, as I have been a Quilter for about 16 or more years, and I used to teach "Beginner's Quilting" at our local church, where I started up a Craft Group once a fortnight mafy years ago, that is still running. I did that for a long time, until my health put a stop to my teaching, as there was a lot of preparation etc., in that, as well as running the Craft Group. So today was the first day I have used my beloved Bernina Aurora 440 Quilters Edition for about 5 years!! I could remember most things, but I was glad my husband found the Manual for me, as I was having a bit of trouble remembering how to load the bobbin into the machine. I want to finish this little bag in time to give it to Tilly on Easter Monday, (that is a week to go from tomorrow, over here), when we will be seeing all the family and my 9 grandchildren...who range in age from 22 down to Tilly who just turned 6 :) We have 4 daughter's because my Husband had 2 daughter's from his 1st marriage, and we have 2 daughters as well. Hence the 9 grandchildren that are spaced out in their ages!! I am SO thrilled I found your UA-cam channel, and I have subscribed, and I can't wait to learn what else you can teach me, now that I can't go out to Classes any more! :) Blessings from Sue in South Australia xxx
Angie, I can't tell you how much you have made me as a beginner smile. You have explained this project to a "T". I will be making my friends one of these bags with little goodies inside (tissue holder & lipstick/chap stick holder. They will be impressed, because they know that I have recently started to learn to sew, and since I'm now retired, this is going to be a BLAST to make starting in the morning with my coffee. Thank you so very much for sharing!!
Thank you Angie, for teaching us the proper way to sew things and make good stuff♥️ You're very talented🥰 p.s. that is very smart of you to use a template instead of having to measure again. That saves so much time and makes the job much more enjoyable.
Great tutorial! I’ve been making quilted bags for nearly 10 years (had a shop selling them for a while as well) and this was a great video for beginners! :) Anyone can follow this and be successful. Oh, When the lining peeks through once it’s finished, I actually like that and keep it and then sew 🧵 a topstitch so it doesn’t move😊 Thanks again! You are helping so many.
This is my first (but not the last) purchase of a D U P B A G Y bag. For the affordable price, it exceeded my expectations! It's soft, the perfect size, and the color is gorgeous! Love this bag!
I really like the way that you explained the sewing of the handles to the bag. It made perfect sense to me, and that’s how I will do mine from now on! Thanks a million!😊
Just a fabulous tutorial! It's a joy to find a tutorial where someone has taken the time to talk you through each of the materials needed and clear easy to follow instructions. I'm off to have a go at making this cute little bag. Thanks Angie - I'm feeling totally inspired 🙂x
Just used this to make a tote bag for my granddaughter. Love your instructions and the pattern! You made it easy for me! Thank you! Can't wait to watch more of your tutorials!
Stumbled across your video by complete accident. But absolutely loved the way you put this together. Exceptionally clear instructions. Thank you and I cant wait to sew one 💗
I have made a quite a few purses and wallets from other tutorials (self taught myself). I have made a few totes from your tutorial and it has been the fastest sewing projects I have done. I have even doubled the measurements, which I was scared to do. But I absolutely love the big bags I make as well the smaller bags you demonstrate. Thank you. I wish I could show you the bag I just made
I never thought I would complete a sewing project ever, let alone a little tote bag and I just made one to put my bible in. Your instructions were super, easy to follow. Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing everything! Sewing is my hobby; and my mom was my "go to" for everything. Without her, I wouldn't know what to use; but with your details here, I feel she's teaching me. God bless your good heart. 🙏
As a beginner your video's are so easy and clear to follow! Love the very clear instructions on how to measure and where to keep the foot of the machine. Thank you so much! It's made me a lot more confident in my sewing. I've succesfully made a bag 😁
Awesome design! I doubled the bag in size, added snaps at the side, and it came out great. Using webbing for handles makes that aspect so much easier!!
Excellent tutorial. I got a bit confused on the way the handles should attach to hang properly but I think that's me just being stupid, after watching and readjusting I got there. Thank you for this video. I am very pleased with the way this bag turned out.
Thank you for your pattern and instruction. I did sew each of the handles together for about 4 inches in the middle as they are a little wide for small children’s hands.
I have never made a tote bag. I am taking an online embroidery class where I am embroidering an outside pocket on both sides of the bag, an inside pocket, a box bottom and of course, the lining. Your video helps me visualize my project. The class teacher is great at teaching embroidery designing but the construction techniques are not familiar to me. Seeing your detailed video helped me so thank you!
So i just finished my first one and I love it! Ive struggled with handles too but the way you folded these in and put the ff in there worked great! I’m going to make another one just for the fun of it. 😂 Thank you!
Thank you so much for this tutorial! I'm very much a beginner, and this was the perfect project for me to work on to improve some of my skills. You make things really easy to understand, so now I have an adorable little tote bag!
WOW !!! This is the first "quite in - depth" video about sewing bags I have found. This bag seems so easy to make with how you show us step - by - step just what to do, and, how to measure and cut the bottom part to get the box shape. I'm prob gonna be making at least one of these bags tomorrow. Am wondering, though, how it would work out if you put a snap or some kind of closure on the inside - top of it. Also, I'm no longer scared to use the fusible interfacing. TYSM for sharing this video with us. 😍
Thank you for this tutorial. I like how you used the machine for a guide in sewing and not complicated measurements. Im making this and I know I will not have any trouble.
Already made four of these! They turned out very nice! Used favorite team fabrics and have put fuzzy socks inside. For the gift tag I have found a printable that says “for your mistle’toes’ “. May include a polish and file and some lotion.. adorable gift! Thanks so much!
This is perfect for giving Christmas cookies, I cheated on the handles and used ribbon, I think it’s just the perfect size, thank you for the inspiration.
Thank you Angie for another amazing tutorial! I've made several of your other fabric tote bags but this one with the handles is adorable. I've made one for my Mother-In-Law and I've added several assorted handmade cards with envelopes inside the bag with handle as a Christmas gift.
The highest compliment I can give anyone! Thank you so much. I haven’t sewn anything in 10+ years and found this video this week. I made 6 bags this weekend from scraps that were in our old stash. This was so much fun. Can I attach a pic?
You made my day, your tutorial was so helpful and thorough that I was able make a bunch of these easily. Thank you for your excellent instructions, other UA-camrs need to watch this video to show them how to make a good instruction video.

I am so glad I found your channel. You are an excellent teacher and do beautiful work❤️I can’t wait to start making some of these awesome tote bags! Hugs from Fl
Decide how big you want the tote, add seam allowances. For the bottom/sides, you need to add half that measurement to each peice. Making mockups from old sheets is a good way to practice.
Angie, love the tutorial but I would like to know how to add a pocket on the inside if one wanted one? You explained very well making it easy to understand. Thank you so much for making this easier then it looks.
Angie,,,I am not a sewer,,, you have peaked my interest,,,Soo cute!!❤ I will share your video with my friend who does sew.. You are one talented lady!! TFS, Kathy.

I just saw discovered your videos. Such cute bags and clear instructions. I wanted to mention that I often don’t pin when sewing small pieces. For example, when doing those tiny handles they have been ironed and fleece added so the folds and sewing line are well established. I find that the pin makes a lump and then when I remove the pin it causes me to shift the fabric just the tiniest bit. just a suggestion for those who are new, try it pinning and see if it works better for you. I do use pins when piecing long seams.
Thanks Gwen, I will give it a try and not use pins on the small pieces.
I meant try NOT pinning. Geez.

So glad to watch this. Very well explained. Thanks so much. Just wondering how what size to make it bigger.
