    Girl, get a public library card and hook it up to Libby. You get audiobooks for free ninety nine instead of paying for Audible every month. Get friends in other states to share their library cards with you, too, and you'll have an endless supply of audiobooks and ebooks.

      Yes! Love for people to spread their knowledge about the public libraries! Also if your local library doesn’t have a book you want on Libby you can request for it to be added. It’s better to borrow a book than spend money on one that you might not even like.

      I was in New England visiting a friend about 2 1/2 years ago and saw her at an Ulta. I heard her laugh so I knew it was her but she is both a different shape and size, face shape and head size, and voice. I also married someone from just outside of Boston and I can tell you her accent is WILDLY unreal. she'd have to be from the STICKS in like, New Hampshire, to sound that awful. even that's pushing it. anyways she's about 5ft maybe, very short, but about a size 16 or 18. VERY large head. square jaw. normal voice, no accent. her laugh was more mild in person but undeniable. I didn't really know much about her(I don't wear makeup and I don't have tiktok) at the time, but my friend recorded her and I was like "what is going on" lol. She explained who she was and then I realized oh I do know who that is, but barely.

    13:34 You ask here if the brands care or not about her using filters? I think they don’t. Late 80s/early 90s, makeup brands were finally forced by huge fines from “truth in advertising” laws to stop using false lashes, filters, and other “creative techniques” to lie about the results of their products in their ads. My theory is that brands *want* beauty influencers to use filters and falsies and touchups and catfishing because the brands themselves used to. This way, the brands “comply” with the law, and the influencers “break” the law, and the consumer keeps getting lied to.

    • @Griefandgroceries
      @Griefandgroceries 2 місяці тому +21

      I’ve shared this same theory.
      Brands are saving millions by using Influencers to advertise their products.
      They aren’t interested in being friends with this Catfish, or even liking her.
      She advertises and sells their products.
      They will use her until she stops moving product.
      It’s not personal, it’s business.
      And you’re correct, they definitely want her Catfish version to advertise and sell their goods.
      Mikky’s attitude problem however; is that she’s constantly and desperately insisting that everyone believe that she really is an attractive person.
      But she’s not at all good looking IRL, she’s just very good at filtering herself to look like she is.
      She exists in an inauthentic bubble of angry denial.

    I used to follow her around the time she started dating her husband and it made me lol that she’d post photos where she looked perfectly smooth and Cody was all red, sweaty, and had visible texture in his skin. Like bruh at least edit him too so it isn’t so obvious! 😂
    It drives me crazy that she denies using filters and says that she just has good skin when she literally got famous for her cystic acne cover up videos!
    Also, I _think_ it’s possible that she’s a 4 or maybe a 5 because she said she’s 4’11. If she was 5’2 or taller then yeah she would look a lot slimmer but at her height, a 4 is big because she’s so compact.

    I've always had issues with my body and not seeing myself with kind eyes.
    I went from 385 pounds to 135 pounds. It took 10 years of learning balance with food and movement. I'm glad I did it before Ozempic and the surgery era. I found recovery for my ED. But a quick fix would have really set me back because I would have never been able to learn or grasp true balance. It took years, and still today, I work on my skin and toning because I will forever be transforming. The difference now is I want strength and longevity in my health. Like under 5' and saying she's a size 4? I'm 5'6" and wear a 4 in dresses so I know she definitely doesn't and agree it gets me in my head like "am I? Reading labels wrong or? What? How????" and wish her luck in recovery to get to the point of being comfortable with her actual size (not even like sharing what that is, she doesn't have to if she doesn't want to, but just not lying about it)

      @funsizedi88 2 місяці тому +2

      I feel like vanity sizing makes saying "I'm a size 4 dress" vs "I'm a size 4 in jeans." It could mean a lot of different measurements/body shapes depending on the brand and type of clothing. That being said, I know she's 4'10" but I agree, there is no way she's a size 4.

    • @averyelliott5645

      @@funsizedi88 I mean, even with the difference in dresses and jeans size (which I get, I'm a 6-8 in jeans and a 4-6 if it's really tight in dresses, I just have hips lol) there's no way she's a size 4 in dresses either. And y'know, that's not the problem. There is zero shame in not being a size 4. Again, for me, it goes down to saying she's in recovery but then making these claims and editing her body. If you're in recovery, you're absolutely allowed to struggle. However, as an influencer that's lying at worst and not setting a good example for others in recovery at best by not acknowledging that she's edited and not the size she claims to be while claiming body positivity and ED recovery

But moving every day helps me getting rid of extra nervous energy, healthy foods keep my intestines work nice and I know damn well if I'll start overindulging too often... just pure pain in the guts, pimples, grumpiness and wish to take a long bear nap to digest the extra calories. I live much better since I started overindulging only for October (for Halloween), a week in May (for my birthday) and a day once a month or similar and skipping the overeating mayhem of December altogether. I am a provider in aesthetics. Something I learned through many patients over the last decade is that many influencers and celebrities etc. don’t see themselves as looking that different from their filtered image. They have basically positive body dysmorphia. They think they are just not photogenic and they are only changing the photos to look like what they think they look in real life. They see themselves as looking like their filtered photos when they look in the mirror. So they don’t feel they are lying.

    • @Emma-se5wm
      @Emma-se5wm Місяць тому

      Sending kind thoughts to you and your little sis. I hope she understands that the adjustment period is REAL and any discomfort experienced now will manifest in a more comfortable life in the long run! A longer life. A life with less joint point. A life with less risk of certain health conditions. But it is hard to put in lots of VERY HARD WORK physically, mentally, and emotionally so soon after a major procedure. Someone else suggested therapy, always important. Does she have creative hobbies? It is never to late to start one, particularly ones that keep the hands busy and mind busy. Helps turn off the impulse to "self-sooth" with food and keeps the mind stimulated so less "head-hunger" moments can get triggered.
      There are all sorts of handheld, creative, hobbies that don't break the bank getting started. Embroidery, crochet, scrapbooking, whittling, drawing, painting, origami, certain instruments, writing, nail art, etc, so many that I can't list them all, but anything that uses the hands, keeps the mind focused, and has a tangible result for effort spent. If there's an activity you both find interesting, you could try it together (IRL or by sharing updates virtually). If she already has creative hobbies, hopefully channeling energy back to them and having loved ones ask about her progress might help since she can take pride in her talents & interests that make up part of her skills + identity independently from her body.

    I've been so excited waiting for this! ⚡⚡⚡
    Just wild she's claiming to be a size 4... All sizes are beautiful but to straight up say the most ridiculous bullshit is insane...

    That angle to make yourself smaller I am SO guilty off. I call it the millennial myspace angle … minus the inverted knees

    I would be so terrified to be caught in the wild if I did this level of filtering online.

    Not me but my friend is an events manager and had a chance to work with her and other influencers. She told me she was nice but looked VERY different from her online appearance. At least she was friendly to staff.

    I think what bothers me the most is her trying to pretend she’s all about mental health and body positivity. Then edits herself. The lying about it. All that bothers me more than any other part

    It's funny how all the filters at 14:33 make her look more & more like a Kardashian. All the kids think they look like Kardashians from being on facetime & constantly looking at themselves through filters 😂
