I worked with her at Patheos for a year. I wrote for nearly 10 years for Patheos a column named "No Longer Quivering" Katherine wrote for around a year, fought with leadership at Patheos and was quickly gone. She constantly complained to me about people then turned around and plagiarized a lot of my content. She started calling herself a reporter/journalist when Patheos ordered us to rebrand ourselves from 'blogger', her choice was reporter/journalist, which was not even a suggestion. All of this is what I say about her, and will continue to say because I have some documents on this.
She also plagiarised the story of her son suffering through a heartbreaking condition and having to be in the NICU (I think that's what it's called?) from a mother who was documenting her own child's experiences and health conditions via a blog or some article that she had published. She also plagiarised from a website that discusses premature babies and never cited or referenced her sources... not that it would matter, she took the entire website and recited it word for word. I don't even remember if she spoke about her son and her own experiences as a mother with a baby that was a preemie.
She truly believes that she is way more important and significant to this world then she actually is. It’s a HARD lesson to learn but the world doesn’t care about you Katie. It just doesn’t. So all of this drama and stress that you put yourself into has got to stop. Aren’t you exhausted? I’m exhausted just listening to it.
She talks so much about other peoples problems and is such a Karen that she creates her enemies . Her defensiveness comes off as a guilty conscience. Granted I don’t think anyone should cause her harm, but that goes both ways.
The fact that she replied FIVE times, made fb posts (with SEVERAL edits), and did two lives about one request for a statement shows how little impulse control Katie has, imho.

While, I don't like her as a person, I feel that the way she's acting and how unhinged she seems might have more to do with a mental health condition that is either not being treated or hasn't been diagnosed. The way she becomes so obsessive, can't form healthy relationships with others, her rapid fire responses... everything else... it's not 'normal' behaviour whatsoever. Unfortunately, Katie is going to continue down this path until she either hits rock bottom or understands that something is wrong and gets help. She's never going to change otherwise. While, I don't like her or have any respect for her- the way she's heading makes me sad for her.
That's always been her biggest downfall. She gets worked up and CANNOT take time to cool down before getting her own shots in. An email unanswered is a failure, a loss. She has to feel like she's the one in control at all times and when that can't happen, she spirals. And her typing gets worse and worse over time, because she starts rage drinking... 😬 seen that cycle happen in real time one too many times!!

I cannot take people who use "I'll have my lawyer contact you" as a threat, seriously. It's an empty threat because they know they can't do anything, they just want to sound scary and stop people from talking about them. She has a lawyer, congrats, so do lots of other people, doesn't make her word law or her threats meaningful.

Well I followed and watched her for the Josh Duggar case. I hadn't unsubbed until the other day though. She is so messy and has to turn her chat to members only while doing a Livestream because she can't help but argue with people and have melt downs. And her drinking the "water" (booze) out of her sippy cup drove me nuts.
When I was deep in the Katie Joy drama there were times that I suspected many of her die hard subscribers of being either accounts created by her or her husband. I have seen some of these accounts being exposed and have noticed that her husband also exposes himself under these accounts, but outside of lives that are no longer up, social media posts being taken down, and accounts suddenly disappearing- there really is no proof. I think somebody was keeping up with things and exposing each of these sock puppet accounts but I don't remember who it was.
I only watched her during the Duggar trial, and I'm one to quickly subscribe to a creator whose content I'm currently interested in, and I just couldn't with her. I absolutely hate her intro and I just didn't like how she talked about stuff, I was just there to hear some Duggar snark. Hell, I'm subscribed to anti MLM YT that have less than 100 followers just for more anti MLM snark, but I just couldn't follow KJ. Now I definitely understand more why lol

I've seen about 15 or so of her videos and started to notice she always has a source that wants to stay anonymous and some of the things she says don't seem credible to me. I started following KJ all the way back at the end of 2018. What bothered then and still bothers me today is she has no problem digging into the lives of other UA-camrs and their families but no one is allowed to ever cover anything that she does. It's always been the hypocrisy for me. Only 20 minutes in, but you have done a fabulous job so far.

Who does she think she is? She thinks she has the authority to tell you what you can do with YOUR media on YOUR devices. If you want to take every device you have and have a BBQ, that’s your choice. You are not a party to any litigation unlike KJ. She has no authority to demand you do anything. I think that Katie absolutely calls herself a "reporter" to make herself seem more legitimate and give herself more "power." I was a subscriber years ago when she was first starting out but when she started going off the rails with the Tati stuff, I jumped off that train. She comes off as a nasty, mean person who just desperately wants to get her name out there by breaking the next scandalous story.
She did a live with her husband some time ago and he legitimately said “wait! Your not telling people your a reporter are you?” It was soo embarrassing. She tried to play it off saying “well, yeah! What else would YOU call it?” He scoffed and rolled his eyes at her. The secondhand embarrassment was too much. It was worse than Scott’s tots!

I’m sure you noticed that every time she’s caught out on the wrong side of the story (like when she claimed Dre shmurdered her husband), she claims she was “duped”, “tricked” or “manipulated”. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a real reporter or journalist make this type of claim.
My narcissistic former close friend (who ended up just being a bully) would claim she "didn't remember that happening" if I called her out on her shit, especially if it happened a while ago. It's a form of gaslighting - making you doubt yourself. Even though you know it happened, and you even have receipts. It's a thing narcissists do. They constantly have to be victims, so if they are called out (and they know it), they won't own up to it. They'll point the finger at others, usually they blame their victim, or use the easiest excuse, "I don't remember".

This vid is a year+ old by the time I viewed this and I'm honestly stunned she was even still on this platform since her flame out with the scientific communication community for her dangerous misinformation, as she poked some massive bears that she was incapable of facing let alone winning her frivolous lawsuit claims. Seeing her behavior in this interaction she clearly was completely broken by this point and had gone full ego death.
KJ calls herself "professional", "reporter", and "writer", but can't compose a grammatically correct sentence or a reasonably coherent statement or letter. She's such a disgrace, both as a youtuber and human being, not to mention a prolific liar. At least she now refers to her lawyer, singular, rather than her "legal team". Her use of the word false is certainly her subconscious reflection of her own video content and various absurd claims.

Also, the lawsuit didn't settle because there "was no defamation", there was a gag order and she wasn't allowed to speak about it. Informed speculation suggests they settled because WOACB ratted out her source who was Tati's business partner, which helped Tati in her lawsuit against him. Tati has that 2017/18 beauty guru $$$, I don't have a clue how many views WOACB gets, but she the way she threatens lawsuits if I didnt know better I'd think she was up there with Mr Beast. 🤣

I’m super late to the party because I only heard about WOACB about two weeks ago as I love trashy tv and she does all this sister wives content. She has me fooled about who she was as a person, I had no idea she was this loco. I mean she did seem to be a bit too interested in sisterwives every move but she tried to make it seem as she’s protecting women in cults etc. I think a lot of people probably know nothing of this and it’s why she still had a following. She is NOT a reporter, at all!!! A reporter is Collecting, verifying and analyzing thoroughly newsworthy information. Assembling findings into a stable story. Writing and delivering news stories with the reader's perspective in mind. That is NOT what she does at all. She definitely does not try and find the truth, she goes off and just goes with how SHE feels about the situation. She doesn't care to see both sides of anything. She is closed minded and does NOT like to be challenged on her beliefs, no matter how absurd or compromised her beliefs are.
Elle Bee once did a video over my company and the time Janelle Evans attacked me on Twitter publicly and I messaged her privately to clear a few things up and she was really professional and nice about it. She’s genuinely a good person and is very understanding from my experience.

Almost everything that Katie accuses others of she’s done. It’s my belief that people like this, who are so hate filled and miserable and seemingly so willing to try to destroy others lives for the giggles and money, think everyone else must be just as vindictive and evil as they themselves, therefor they’re using the same tactics as Katie herself does. Her accusations of others digging deeply into her personal life almost always come after she has retaliated for a comment or video being skeptical of her and paid for the entire background of the skeptical person to use as a form of retaliation. It’s her extremely well known modus operandi. It’s also why tens of thousands despise Katie, and one of the many reasons she’s currently involved in fighting so many lawsuits against her. You’d think she could connect the dots, but as a self described narcissist (in Patheos articles she penned) perhaps it just can’t register in her brain? Idk. Personally, because of the real life stuff and near constant doxxing I do want her de-platformed ASAP. Hopefully someone will bundle in youtube or Facebook into one of these lawsuits as they’ve all received so many complaints about Katie’s behavior that they’ll start issuing stricter guidelines about going real life and de-platform her themselves. We’ll see, but I’m not holding my breath. Great video, nothing new and way too much stuff for you to cover without dedicating a major portion of your life to Katie (which 9/10 doctors claim is detrimental to one’s mental health), but I truly enjoyed your perspective, and find your voice and mannerisms very soothing, which is so helpful after listening to Katie talk! @@CocoAvalon I don’t remember the name of that article, or the one where she admitted to being an alcoholic who couldn’t stop drinking after she had just a bottle of wine, but both statements and more are located in the series of articles she wrote for Patheos. If I were at my work computer I could look them up and search for that specific word, but I’m at home using an iPad. It should be quite easy to find if you’ve access to a computer. If not, let me know and I’ll start looking through the blogs she sold to them. They’re easy to find even though Patheos has dissolved their business relationship (for obvious reasons).

Personally, i believe she has narcissistic traits, but don’t know if she’s what a doctor would diagnose as a clinical narcissist. I liked her but started disliking her when she called Sophie a brat. Let's say, Sophie was acting like a brat. Sophie is a SA victim. I worked with her at Patheos for a year. I wrote for nearly 10 years for Patheos a column named "No Longer Quivering" Katherine wrote for around a year, fought with leadership at Patheos and was quickly gone. She constantly complained to me about people then turned around and plagiarized a lot of my content. She started calling herself a reporter/journalist when Patheos ordered us to rebrand ourselves from 'blogger', her choice was reporter/journalist, which was not even a suggestion. All of this is what I say about her, and will continue to say because I have some documents on this.

She also plagiarised the story of her son suffering through a heartbreaking condition and having to be in the NICU (I think that's what it's called?) from a mother who was documenting her own child's experiences and health conditions via a blog or some article that she had published. She also plagiarised from a website that discusses premature babies and never cited or referenced her sources... not that it would matter, she took the entire website and recited it word for word. I don't even remember if she spoke about her son and her own experiences as a mother with a baby that was a preemie.

While, I don't like her as a person, I feel that the way she's acting and how unhinged she seems might have more to do with a mental health condition that is either not being treated or hasn't been diagnosed. The way she becomes so obsessive, can't form healthy relationships with others, her rapid fire responses... everything else... it's not 'normal' behaviour whatsoever.
Unfortunately, Katie is going to continue down this path until she either hits rock bottom or understands that something is wrong and gets help. She's never going to change otherwise. While, I don't like her or have any respect for her- the way she's heading makes me sad for her.

Well I followed and watched her for the Josh Duggar case. I hadn't unsubbed until the other day though. She is so messy and has to turn her chat to members only while doing a Livestream because she can't help but argue with people and have melt downs. And her drinking the "water" (booze) out of her sippy cup drove me nuts.

When I was deep in the Katie Joy drama there were times that I suspected many of her die hard subscribers of being either accounts created by her or her husband. I have seen some of these accounts being exposed and have noticed that her husband also exposes himself under these accounts, but outside of lives that are no longer up, social media posts being taken down, and accounts suddenly disappearing- there really is no proof. I think somebody was keeping up with things and exposing each of these sock puppet accounts but I don't remember who it was.
I only watched her during the Duggar trial, and I'm one to quickly subscribe to a creator whose content I'm currently interested in, and I just couldn't with her. I absolutely hate her intro and I just didn't like how she talked about stuff, I was just there to hear some Duggar snark.
Hell, I'm subscribed to anti MLM YT that have less than 100 followers just for more anti MLM snark, but I just couldn't follow KJ. Now I definitely understand more why lol

I started following KJ all the way back at the end of 2018. What bothered then and still bothers me today is she has no problem digging into the lives of other UA-camrs and their families but no one is allowed to ever cover anything that she does. It's always been the hypocrisy for me. Only 20 minutes in, but you have done a fabulous job so far.

Who does she think she is? She thinks she has the authority to tell you what you can do with YOUR media on YOUR devices. If you want to take every device you have and have a BBQ, that’s your choice. You are not a party to any litigation unlike KJ. She has no authority to demand you do anything. I think that Katie absolutely calls herself a "reporter" to make herself seem more legitimate and give herself more "power." I was a subscriber years ago when she was first starting out but when she started going off the rails with the Tati stuff, I jumped off that train. I’m sure you noticed that every time she’s caught out on the wrong side of the story (like when she claimed Dre shmurdered her husband), she claims she was “duped”, “tricked” or “manipulated”. I don’t think I’ve ever heard of a real reporter or journalist make this type of claim.
My narcissistic former close friend (who ended up just being a bully) would claim she "didn't remember that happening" if I called her out on her shit, especially if it happened a while ago. It's a form of gaslighting - making you doubt yourself. Even though you know it happened, and you even have receipts. It's a thing narcissists do. They constantly have to be victims, so if they are called out (and they know it), they won't own up to it. They'll point the finger at others, usually they blame their victim, or use the easiest excuse, "I don't remember".

Informed speculation suggests they settled because WOACB ratted out her source who was Tati's business partner, which helped Tati in her lawsuit against him. Perhaps you could do another deep dive on the way she treats her subscribers! One of the worst things she has ever done is go off on a sub who was trying to sympathize with her. She was talking about almost losing her son, and this subscriber was empathizing with her, because she actually lost her daughter. KJ yelled at this poor woman and everyone else in the chat for "talking about themselves"!!!!!!! These people are who pay her bills and she treats them like dog poo on the bottom of her shoe!!!!!!!!!! That's a video just in itself smh

I’m super late to the party because I only heard about WOACB about two weeks ago as I love trashy tv and she does all this sister wives content. She has me fooled about who she was as a person, I had no idea she was this loco. I mean she did seem to be a bit too interested in sisterwives every move but she tried to make it seem as she’s protecting women in cults etc. I think a lot of people probably know nothing of this and it’s why she still had a following. That is NOT what she does at all. She definitely does not try and find the truth, she goes off and just goes with how SHE feels about the situation. She doesn't care to see both sides of anything. She is closed minded and does NOT like to be challenged on her beliefs, no matter how absurd or compromised her beliefs are.

Almost everything that Katie accuses others of she’s done. It’s my belief that people like this, who are so hate filled and miserable and seemingly so willing to try to destroy others lives for the giggles and money, think everyone else must be just as vindictive and evil as they themselves, therefor they’re using the same tactics as Katie herself does.
Her accusations of others digging deeply into her personal life almost always come after she has retaliated for a comment or video being skeptical of her and paid for the entire background of the skeptical person to use as a form of retaliation. It’s her extremely well known modus operandi. It’s also why tens of thousands despise Katie, and one of the many reasons she’s currently involved in fighting so many lawsuits against her.
You’d think she could connect the dots, but as a self described narcissist (in Patheos articles she penned) perhaps it just can’t register in her brain? Idk. Personally, because of the real life stuff and near constant doxxing I do want her de-platformed ASAP. Hopefully someone will bundle in youtube or Facebook into one of these lawsuits as they’ve all received so many complaints about Katie’s behavior that they’ll start issuing stricter guidelines about going real life and de-platform her themselves. We’ll see, but I’m not holding my breath.
Great video, nothing new and way too much stuff for you to cover without dedicating a major portion of your life to Katie (which 9/10 doctors claim is detrimental to one’s mental health), but I truly enjoyed your perspective, and find your voice and mannerisms very soothing, which is so helpful after listening to Katie talk! I don’t remember the name of that article, or the one where she admitted to being an alcoholic who couldn’t stop drinking after she had just a bottle of wine, but both statements and more are located in the series of articles she wrote for Patheos. If I were at my work computer I could look them up and search for that specific word, but I’m at home using an iPad. It should be quite easy to find if you’ve access to a computer. If not, let me know and I’ll start looking through the blogs she sold to them. They’re easy to find even though Patheos has dissolved their business relationship (for obvious reasons).

Btw - to be clear, the article wasn’t about narcissism, it was an article that included a line (or two?) where she described herself as a narcissist. Personally, i believe she has narcissistic traits, but don’t know if she’s what a doctor would diagnose as a clinical narcissist. The woman has some serious mental health issues imho, with that being simply one component, and they’re sadly all seemingly elevated by her drug and alcohol abuse. I’d feel bad for her if she wasn’t doing her best to spread her misery by trying to destroy everyone she comes into contact with in order to boost her own self esteem.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: Both of my parents were journalists. They went to Columbia Journalism school for their Master's degrees. They covered MLK, Kennedy, Watergate, and more. They understood what real reporting is.

I use to watch her and really liked her at first because it seemed like she had news no one else had. Then I started to realize that was because a lot wasn't true. Then when she started in on Tati, she was just nasty about it. What really did it for me was all the gaslighting she does. Literally lies her ass off about things she's said and done. Let's say, Sophie was acting like a brat. Sophie is a SA victim. At nine years old (when kj called her a brat) She is probably very angry, confused and hurt. Lacking the words to communicate her feelings about the situation. Which may come across as acting out.
I liked her for the same reason and then started questioning things when she would post 10 videos a day about basically the same thing from a “source close to the family”. Things got too repetitive and dramatic so I gave up watching
