I still remember the final season when it originally got cancelled. Sylvester McCoy was the Doctor with Sophie Aldred as his companion Ace. It was made on a shoestring budget and the BBC seemed to actively hate the show at the time. But you know what? The stories back then were better than anything that's been coming out since the end of Capaldi's run. They have stopped focusing on the story in their race for the DEI Gold Medal. This is the hollowed out shell of what used to be a really unique show about adventures through space and time.
Of course 15 will encounter racism if he goes to certain time periods. But the thing is that racism is pretty much an 18th Century to mid 20th Century thing. How often has the Doctor been to those times in history lately? I think the racism question is a legitimate question for Gatwa. It would be appropriate to show in Doctor Who but I don’t expect it to be handled well, sensitively, or accurately. But who really expects the Doctor to visit the Deep South or Jim Crow America?

Doctor Who has been shown on US television since the mid 1970s. Admittedly, in the early days it was on PBS which did not get a huge viewership. But there is no reason to disparage US fans, Doctor Who is enjoyed the world over.
A lot of the movies and TV we see on British screens, come from across the Atlantic, so I always get a kick out of seeing British exports being enjoyed in the US. I'm sure we still make some great shows, although I can't think of any right now. 😟

I've said it before- if they did a British Doctor that was actually WHO THE CHARACTER WAS before Whittaker, regardless of race, no one would care. But this to me is just the next stage of BBC DEI, which perfectly aligns of the stated goals of the WEF and their 'reset'

Britain outlawed the purchase of slaves from Africa in 1807, abolished slavery in 1833 and set up the West African Squadron of the Royal Navy in 1808 which over the next 50 years freed 150,000 Africans being shipped to slavery in the Americas.
@@TheZodiacz I didn't mean simply the British purchase of slaves. Specifically I was thinking of the influx of african slaves that the British promised to free and take back with them to Britain if they turned against the American colonies during the revolutionary war. There were former African slaves that fought on the side of the British and when the war was done went back to Britain along with the other white British soldiers. It doesn't get mentioned a lot in history books

Oh my god really, ok to those who say this how can we talk about P@listine how can we have an opinion about anything unless we from there, i mean how ridiculous. We all have the right to an opinion so long as your not disguising your opinion to attack someone which i have seen on this channel and i will call you out on it because well someone has to purely because if we are passive and let the little things go they only grow bigger and get normalised in society any everyone has the right to articulately challenge anyone as long as its not abuse or attacking someone. I think they only this to you because they have no other argument to be honest.
How many times will the villan be a white man? I will not be wasting my time with this ..loved dr who for over 50 yrs... If the stories were well written...but they wont ..not paying to be 'preached to' ... Going back to the Classic Dr Who, when it was entertaining!
