Man me and my mom watched this video and read the comments ,first then we ran to the water heater and one minute later we had hot water. God bless you we are so grateful
THANK YOU SO MUCH! New, clueless, first time home buyer here. noticed my shower wasn't all that warm this morning and finally realized the water heater wasn't making any noise and the little status light wasn't on at all. within 15min you solved my issue and now my heater is back on and I know I did it safely. There's so much to learn but I'm excited to go on this journey.
Omg, thank you so much for posting this video. Single mom here with 2 kiddos and need hot water in the dead of winter. Very easy to follow your video. So helpful!
Thank you for the excellent instructions. My husband passed away recently, so I've been kind of stuck trying to do things for myself or having to pay to have them done. Yesterday my sump pump stopped working in the basement causing about 3 ft+ of water flooding it, got that dealt with, and the water out of the basement, went to take a bath and, no hot water, UGGGG lol. Yelp, the flooded basement got high enough to put out my pilot light. Thanks to you though it is back up and running and I should be able to get a good, relaxing, well deserved, hot bath soon.
I am very sorry! You definitely have a lot on you plate. I think after yesterday you need a vacation. I sure hope that life gets easier for you. I truly wish you the best!
Excellent instructions, this is a concise, orderly video. Our pilot went out, right as my daughter was taking a shower. She was complaining as usual, though in this case it was understandable. I was unable to figure out how to light the pilot and I was unable to find the instruction manual. I also called a service provider but as it was after hours no one was available. My son was clever, he looked for instructions and guidance for us. Using this video we were able to relight the pilot, saving us money on a service call, and more importantly, ending my daughter’s complaints.
Another satisfied customer! The thirty seconds holding was the key. Still took 45 seconds to a minute to work. I had no lights or anything until it just lit and turned blue. It was a new install so I would have sworn it was broken. They need better instructions for this. Thanks very much for the video and all you guys in the comments.
Omg, you're a life saver. I had like a week without any hot water, I would take the coldest of showers. I'm in California and this record cold weather was insane! I tried video after video and none of their methods worked. I was finally going to give in and call someone to fix it. But I thought, "just 1 more video then I'll call someone." Yay, it worked! Hot water shower here I come! 😅 THANK YOU!
Thank you! Spent almost thirty minutes fighting it just trying to read the instructions, which are not well written, and got it done before the video was even over
You saved me! Official instructions didn't work, and a couple plumbers said they wouldn't work on this model, so I was in the process of calling around when I found this. Thanks!
Well I've lit my NEW propane/LPG before and it lit off fine. This last time when I tried it wouldn't light. I waited the 10 minutes twice and it still wouldn't light. This time I tried your method, except I only waited 20 seconds and it lit on around the 4th push. Thanks so much, warm showers tonight! Best Wishes and Blessings. Keith Noneya
Agreed. After 20 minutes on hold for the AOC number, I just hung up and followed your instructions and all was well! Thank You very much--appreciate it.
You are a lifesaver! Thank you so much for this video! My grandpa wanted me to read the step by step an translate in spanish for him but it was so complex for me Im so glad you posted this video! Totally made it so much easier for us!!🙏🏻🙏🏻😇 God bless!!
Dude! YES! Thank you so much!! Can I just say, I tried a bunch of videos where these dudes apparently loved the sound of their own voices more than solving the problem! Every video I watched gave zero useful information. As soon as I saw the 2:53 timestamp, I knew you were my guy! Thank you so much! I can now take a now shower again! You are the best, my man!
I used this video after a wind storm and it worked the first time just as described but if your having issues not getting the boiler to light continue holding the pilot button down while pressing the electric ignition every second until the white light starts flashing then switch it to the desired temp setting. I had to hold for about 1 minute and click 20 or more times before it lit the pilot on a windy day.
May God and the angels bless you!! 68 yr old SF locked at home due to Covid 19 and no hot water! Needed every bit of your instructions inc holding on even after the white signal light flashes. Let go after 10 seconds and had to do it over, but because of your saying it could happen, didn't panic, just repeated and held FULL 20 and right now the sweet sound of warming water beckons. Thank you. May you and your stay healthy and happy. Thanks for being so helpful!
Thank you very much sir. My basement flooded and I’m still learning the ropes of homeownership. The instructions on the unit were not serving me well but your video got me going!
Liked and subscribed. Read the instructions on the water heater and was completely confused. Watched the video and 2 minutes later the gas kicked in the water is getting hot. I am the hero of the house right now, but I am gladly sharing the credit with you!!!
I love how easy you make it to follow what you're doing. I've tried this method multiple times and with no heat. I'm now realizing I'm not seeing a spark when I press the flicker. Should I just continue the steps until I see a spark when I press the flicker?
You're awesome. I have this same unit and the instructions to relight the pilot are very vague. I was able to get it relit thanks to you. It started with an error code and then went to normal procedure.
Thank you very much for uploading this video. I followed the your instructions and the light started blinking again. On the other hand the instructions on the water heater didn't help at all. Thanks again.
I have the same equipment but I found that when I hit the igniter button more than once, the pilot went back out. One hit was enough for my igniter. It all worked out. Thanks for this helpful video.
Omg thanks man. I tried it many times and it didn't work, I try your method and BAM! It works. Thanks! Saved me from an awkward conversation with my boss.
You are THEE man! God bless. We've had a natural disater here in GP MI and this has give me hope as the light blinked on for a few moments which is more than I've gotten all day.
I came across your video after a few and I am so happy I did bc it works after other fails! You didn’t have to do this but we are grateful you did!! Thank you!
Thank you so much! I watched a few other videos before I found this one, and they didn’t help at all! However, I followed your simple instructions and my water heater started!
I had a tough time turning on the pilot. I pushed in the button, counted 30seconds, push the ignition 3 times, counted 20 seconds, tapped the ignition 3 times again. Just kept on repeating the cycle, while the pilot button is pushed in all the time. After 2 minutes (4 cycles) the status light came on. Thank you for the great video.
OMG THIS REALLY WORKED!!! I had been trying since last night to light it but was watching videos saying you don't need to hold down the controller well UMMMM it works if you DO HOLD IT DOWN!!! and hold it down after for about 30 seconds ... thank you so much for this video!!
OMFG! You have no idea how glad I am to come across this video. I've been having issues with my pilot light randomly blowing out since last summer, ironically at the same time my then central a/c started craping out on me. I've always been able to easily re-light it on the 1st or 2nd try. I would do the whole hold down on pilot and immediately start pressing in quick succession of 3's and it would eventually re-light. Today, I tried that and NOTHING! I tried it like 4x, letting it sit for 10mins inbtwn tries and I was starting to panic. I just got my central air unit replaced a few weeks ago with a bigger/beefier a/c compressor unit, so I thought maybe that had something to do with why it wasn't re-lighting.....then I came across your video. Did the whole holding down the pilot thing for 15-30 seconds first and then I attempted to re-light and low and behold IT LIT!!!!! After spending well over 7K on a new A/C, the thought of almost having to call out a plumber on the weekend almost made want to die. Thank you so much for your contribution to society. You are a life/wallet saver!
Thank youuuuu soooooo much. This video was so effective and easy to follow. I'm a new home owner and this saved me a money of not having to get a someone to help me fix the problem. God bless
Thanks man. I followed your steps and turned on my water heater tank and got it on….got hot water when plumbers not come in….I pressed the ignition more then 5 times.
The Honeywell gas valve gets its power from the thermopile. The thermopile needs the flame from the pilot light to generate the power. It takes around 30 seconds.for the Honeywell gas valve to get powered up. The status light will start blinking once it is running.
This is exactly what I needed. My water was cold this whole week, so far. Looked at my water heater just a bit ago, and noticed the light is off. One question I have is, does a leaking pipe when the heat is on, affect the water heater working, in any way?
This was very helpful thank you. But my concern with mine, i have the same one as in This video but my light is blinking red what does that mean I’m trying to research it in the meantime
So my pilot light ignites but does not stay lit if I remove pressure from the pilot light button. I had the PL lit for a minute and never got a status light to come up. Any thoughts on what that could be?
Thank you for posting this video! My water heater has the instructions written on it, but (a) they are on a sticker that's basically posted down by my shins, so I have to bend way over to read it, and (b) there's a metal support strap obscuring part of that sticker. I squinted at it for about a minute before thinking "Check UA-cam for instructions, let's not blow anything up this early in the morning."
thanks for the video, it is very helpful. can you tell me the if I set it to HOT vs A is it going to be less hot or do I have to set it to either A-B-C or Very Hot setting ?
Man me and my mom watched this video and read the comments ,first then we ran to the water heater and one minute later we had hot water. God bless you we are so grateful
Glad you were able to get the water heater working.
I know this is an old video but you just saved me in 2024! It’s the weeked and no of the maintenance workers are answering thank you so much
Same! Thank goodness for this video!

Merry Christmas to you and your beloved 🎄

Thank you for this video!! The thought of a lot flame and gas SCARES the BEJEEBIES outta me but this was so simple and easy to follow!!
You are so welcome!
Thank you so much! I’m a single woman who recently inherited my late father’s home. Your instructions were super easy!❤️❤️❤️
You are so welcome!
@@sellgooddeals-DIY thanks for the video on by chance do you have a video on how to do a hard reset of these valves?
Thank you! Spent almost thirty minutes fighting it just trying to read the instructions, which are not well written, and got it done before the video was even over

Great job! They can be a real pain lighting them.

Agreed. After 20 minutes on hold for the AOC number, I just hung up and followed your instructions and all was well! Thank You very much--appreciate it.
Thank you for making this for us non technical people
Thank you for watching!
Thank you! I was afraid something would need replacing. I followed your video and the pilot light lit right up.

I just lit mine ,thank you so much ,I sure didn't want to wait till Monday to call a service person, you are a life saver !
Thank you. This worked perfectly, unlike the instructions on the heater itself. I just don't get how the pilot light just goes out.
Same, here.
I like how this is SO MUCH better than the instructions on the heater itself.
THANK YOU

Right. Me too. Wow. Amazing. No hot water is not the business.
I press electric ignition one per second until the light lit up but still hold down the pilot numb about 20 seconds more and release it.

Thanks for the note on holding it for 30+ seconds. Really key!
Thank you for watching!
I've watched other videos and yours was the only one that was able to help me turn it on
Life saver! I woke up in need of a a shower and it was freezing! Thank you so much
This is soooo helpful to a novice homeowner like me. Thank you for posting this video.
the amount of time i had to do this to get hot water in my dorm is ridiculous, thank u
Thank you, woke up after a big wind storm to no hot water with a new water heater, and these instructions worked like a charm!
I just want to say this is an old video but its still fantastic, im used to others but this did figure it out for me ty

Thanks brother. I wasn’t holding the pilot down long enough.
No problem 👍
Worked like a charm May 2023...
Glad it worked for you.

Thank you for explaining how to like my new heater not easy for a mom with children that have special needs
Thanks a million. They sure have made things much easier water heater wise. Great video.
Thanks so much! The key was holding for 30 seconds.
You're welcome! Glad it helped.

Glad to hear it worked, they can be stubborn.
Everytime I need , this guy always here . Thank you 😊

Excellent Job on the demonstration of lighting this unit.... 🙌🏽🔥🔥🔥🙌🏽
Thanks for watching!
So my pilot light ignites but does not stay lit if I remove pressure from the pilot light button. I had the PL lit for a minute and never got a status light to come up. Any thoughts on what that could be?
Thank you for the video. VERY helpful! Way better than the instructions on the side of the tank.
You're welcome!
Thank you I was so nervous and kids didn’t have hot water now we do thank you
Glad it helped!
Thank you!!! Thought I was gonna have to call a handyman but you helped me.
Glad I could help
Thank you for posting this video! My water heater has the instructions written on it, but (a) they are on a sticker that's basically posted down by my shins, so I have to bend way over to read it, and (b) there's a metal support strap obscuring part of that sticker. I squinted at it for about a minute before thinking "Check UA-cam for instructions, let's not blow anything up this early in the morning."
Nice job getting yours running they can be stubborn.
Thank you! It worked! Saved me from making a service call.
Glad it helped
This worked..thanks so much
