Jeep Gladiator Truck WAYALIFE Build by EVO Manufacturing DTD King Coilovers and Dana UD60 Axles

- Day 2 of our Gladiator build started off like yet another Christmas morning only this time, the present we got to open was a wooden crate containing our brand new Dana Ultimate UD60 front axle. Of course, our UD60 rear axle had come in the day before and so new EVO brackets had already been burned in and it was all ready to get installed. Being that there was a change in plans for the front, most of the UD60 front bracket would need to be trimmed off before we could do anything with it. And speaking of those changes, pretty much everything would need to be hacked off the frame as well and so that we could have EVO DTD or Double Throw Down towers burned in.
Now, Day 3 would take us out to King Shocks to have some custom work done to the bypass shocks that would be installing and while we were there, we got to check out how the world's most badass shocks are made. Once we got back to Off Road Evolution, our front UD60 was ready to be installed with our new Synergy tie-rod and drag link. In a nutshell, a ton of work was done to take our Gladiator to the next level and we hope you enjoy seeing the magic as it happens.

Actually, we're heading out to the JL/JT Experience in just a couple of days. Gotta drive this thing clear across the country to spend a week of wheeling. Of course, we will then be driving it all the way back home again LOL

From what I am hearing the 3.6l days are numbered anyways. Supposedly a new 3.0 I-6 Turbo is slated to replace the 3.6l. I think we will see it when the new Grand Cherokee makes it debut.

This is some serious engineering.
I can envision a Jeep JT Engineer sitting at home watching these video's with their eye's popping out..

Mel's engineer is a guy named Andrew and he is talented for sure. Mel is awesome that he's great at problem solving and there was quite a bit of that needed being that this was the first JT to be built with DTD's.

Thanks for the ride towards this transformation! That said, I miss the days of the progression from budget boost and winch plate front bumpers to coil-overs and diff upgrades.. I have very much enjoyed following Wayalife on the JL build and was looking forward to a similar build for the truck. I think many of us more relate to the choices of what to do first and the progression of the build as constrained by budget. I guess that is the challenge, continue to relate to the core viewers as popularity of the channel drives "sponsorship" Still, I would have never know how EVO stands above the others without it. Thanks again!
We are sorry to disappoint you with our build. So much of the JT is so similar to the JL that we felt it would be a waste to redo what we had already done. This is why we essentially picked up where we left off on our JL and went straight to 40's. I should also note that this build was a personal dream build of ours, one that was made possible with the help of Mel and Lisa Wade who are close and personal friends of ours and not necessarily a "sponsored" build. While we did get a lot of help, there was plenty we still had to buy to make this possible. We are NOT trying to sell anything or promote anything - we're simply showing what we purposefully chose to run on our own JT.
Watching this got all the gears in my head turning, thinking of the possibilities when I get mine after they release the diesel version. Great stuff man! Can't wait to see the finished product! 🤙

They are pricey and not something everyone needs but as far as crate axles go, they are one of the most affordable ones you can get :)

I’m always amazed how dudes get this builds, just to never go off roading.
LOL - oh yeah, there's no way we would ever take this thing off road let alone, a couple of days after finishing the build and in a place like New England where the rocks are slimy and trees tightly planted together. I mean, we might bash in the back of our bed or something.

I am a Raptor Owner, but i never miss and episode of your channel. They build series videos and the long excursion videos are my favorite, I think they are the best on the Tube. You and me both. If they hold up, they'd be a great option I could recommend especially being that you don't have to wait 2-4 months to get them AND you could save a LOT of money too.

I don't know. They're sure to cost $4-6k more than what we paid for our Rubicon and I thought that was a lot. For that kind of money, I'd rather buy a real diesel truck with real towing capabilities such as a 2500.
Light truck and passenger car diesel engines are more expensive to purchase, operate and maintain vs. gasoline. Yes, they have their pulling power but at a big cost. Emissions on diesels are getting tighter in 2020 through 2024 so likely the cost of them will increase as well as the operational costs. If diesel fuel were priced where it should be, $1 a gallon or less, and they got 20+ MPG like they used to, maybe the diesel would carry more value to the table than they have since 2008.

So, when all is said and done, you'd be looking at about a $40-50k build including labor.
This is a very aggressive build. I've never seen you attack any of your Jeeps like this. Good stuff.

I noticed that the builds were spread out. You just got the Gladiator and you are going all out fast. I know Moby and Rubicat were built, just not this fast.
