Jeep Gladiator Truck Overland EVO First Time Off-Road NORA New York Nitto JL JT Experience Part 2

- After spending the better part of 4 days on the road and covering almost 3,000 miles along the way, Cindy and I finally made it out to Newburgh, New York, the starting point of Lobster Quest - the Nitto JL/JT Experience presented by KMC Wheels! As always, the first day was a fun one being that we got hook up with old friends and make some new ones as well and being that this was the year of the all new Jeep JT Gladiator, it was great to see PSC, Skyjacker, Drixtin and even Randy showing up with theirs. Better still, most of these trucks were running EVO suspension systems, one had a Hellcat HEMI under the hood and all were running Dana Ultimate UD60 axles pushing 40" tires. Of course, being that we were in Newburgh and staying at a hotel right next to the world famous Orange County Choppers, that's where we got to finish up our day and complete with tour of their facility and dinner as well.
The first official day of Lobster Quest took us out to Ellenville, New York and to an off-road park known as, Northeast Off-Road Adventures or NORA for short. I should note that this is a private park that does require a fee to use but it is one that offers 4WD training, driving tours and event programs on it's 75 acres of trails. Given the limited amount of off-road options available in the New York area, it really is awesome that the good people at NORA have created this place for people to use. For our purposes, we were truly grateful that they would allow us to take on their trails, soak in the beauty and shake down our Jeep JT Gladiators (most for the very first time) and JL Wranglers on the fun obstacles they had.
We hope you enjoy watching all the fun we had and hope you'll check back soon for more.

I want to know who drove the blue jeep with the old gladiator front end!! That was AWESOME
That would be Chris Durham. He came as part of the support crew.
Hell yeah! the Jeep that Jeep should have made. Gorgeous!
And who says a Gladiator can't wheel? Lol
Hey Eddie, can you start making 1 hour videos? These are too short and can't wait for more videos!! Please and thanks!
HAHAHA!! And here I thought we went a bit long on this one. So happy to hear you enjoy our videos :)
@@wayalife it long enough ;) Anyways, I always enjoy watching your videos, it's relaxing and like seeing a big community get together and enjoy beautiful and wonderful sight seeing! Can't wait for next part!
I love the 30ish minute ones but I'm with you, I can watch these for hours on end. So well done and entertaining!
Wayalife I think 45 minutes would be a great sweet spot, however you have the analytics and know best as always great video
@@wayalife muchas felicidades Saludos
Holy poop I’m from Kingsport, TN too LOL just got my JT and freaking loving it and love watching all these videos. I just went to my very first Jeep event in Maggie valley was super fun 🤩
That's awesome! Congratulations on your new JT! 👍
I am from Johnson City 20 min from Kingsport just got a JT and a JL
Much props to NORA! They're pretty much responsible for teaching me and countless others in the tri-state the basics for wheeling 101. I'd probably still be mallcrawling if not for them.
Awesome! They are good people for sure.
Hahahahahahah, I looked all over for a white JKU and couldn’t find one when I bought my 2016 Hydro Blue JKU. But, I have a white Challenger and Ram.
So fun to watch y’all being spoiled on this adventure! Didn’t realize how big the OCC building was! ❤️🐞
Glad you enjoyed it and yes, the OCC building was pretty damn big, bigger than I was expecting.
Ferraris of off road trucks, these things are fucking badass man
Very Cool...I lived up in that area in NY...5 minutes from Orange County Choppers...for 20 years.. moved out of NY in 2014...
Very cool!
Great video Eddie & Cindy thanks for sharing! Check the time line at 19:43, looks like Mel owes the Synergy guy a new tail light..... LOL
LOL - they just clip in on that side. Nothing was broken.
Having just watched a video on the RC version of the truck (Axcial SCX10.lll) I saw the thumbnail thinking it was cool looking RC version but no, it’s the real deal. Daaamn! Real nice and real big money, think I’ll stick the RC and dream on.
Cool event, as someone who used to do events and exhibitions, I appreciate what goes on behind the scenes to make it all happen.
LOL - didn't even know there was an RC version! Glad you enjoyed the video.
Lonnie McCurry great to see Skyjacker in these videos great family and great business 👍🏻
Great Video!!....Can't believe you were only 20mins from my house its nuts!.....And I'm friends with John
No kidding, how cool is that!
Great to see you guys hitting some northeast slippery rocks - very little crawling lots of bumping! The forest trails are tight enough in a 4 door, pretty stressful in a JT! You did awesome! Can’t wait for the next video!
And this was the easy stuff. Got real as the week went on. Tough terrain to wheel for sure.
i saw a bunch of theses jeeps sitting on top of Hogback mountain in VT, when i was working. on route 9.
Hey, that would have been us :)
Hey Eddie! Just wanted you and Cindy to know that this series is so very therapeutic. I watch this Lobsta Quest series at least 5 times a year. Always fun, lots of laughs, great scenery and great people. Your channel is amazing and my wife and I really appreciate what you and Cindy do! 🤘🏻🤘🏻. Hands down, you have the BEST Jeep related UA-cam channel out there!
Truly humbled that you would say as much and so happy that you enjoy our videos.
That first obstacle made those 40's look like chump change lol! I believe everyone high centered lol. Good stuff
Can I have the Matchbox!!! lol looks like a great time
Sure is beautiful out there. I think we are spoiled with our rocks out west (moab’s sandpaper and the sierra’s granite slabs). I doubt I’d be a fan of sliding around although, Ray would likely have some great fun in it. Thanks for sharing! Already jealous of the rig and location. 👍🏻 Top quality video.
Thanks Rachel! It's challenging stuff out there for sure. So glad you enjoyed the video :)
Once again, you two post a great video. Looks as though the JT can handle its own on the trail. Chomping at the bit waiting to take possession of mine, start modifying and hit the trails. Thanks for sharing, stay safe and enjoy some lobstah.
Thank you and so glad you enjoyed it :)
Badass jeeps: check. Epic road trip:check gorgeous trails:check. And to think... all of this wrapped up into parts 1 & 2. I’ll just eagerly sit and wait for part 3 like an kid on Christmas Eve.
LOL - thanks Casey, so glad you enjoyed it and more is coming your way soon :)
Once you get the first few scuffs in there then it's easy you don't care no more it's just that brand new untouched Feelin you got to get over. It's only paint. Keep on Wheeling...
Wild Turkey 🥃 Earned you my sub. Plus all the great Jeep content. 😉
Awesome! Thank you!
East coast wheeling! Everything is slippery. Trails in PA and NJ are like this
So I've been told. Heard it was like that even without the rain.
That was a serious goodie bag!
The Catskills are beautiful in the fall. I lived their for 5 years. Miss it at times. Have fun.
It really is beautiful out there.
im not one to want to rock climb and wheel like this and no chance that beautiful truck id do that!! I know you all do it regular and enjoy it. Enjoy trip
Glad you could enjoy seeing this :)
hope to meet up with you all sometime .
That's New England wheeling for you. Much different then out west. Slick rock out west, in NE it is actually "slick" rock. Everything is always wet. Lots of leaves and pine needles covering everything making it slippery. Crawling doesn't often work. Much different approach needed. Fun all the same, just different. Glad you guys got to experience it!
Oh yeah, it's totally different out there. So glad we got a chance to experience it for ourselves.
I'd be excited just to get a goodie bag not mention getting to do the whole trip 😂😂
LOL - you should sign up for the next one :)
@@wayalife its gonna take awhile to get the tons and ls swap for the jku. But I will once its complete for sure!🤙
Totally awesome! Cant wait for the next part !
Thank you. We're so glad you enjoyed it :)
I've seen so many scenarios where the Gladiator conquers an obstacle where the Wrangler has serious troubles. This video is just more proof of it.
Hayy edhye, im from indonesia... Rubicorn Nice car...
I think I take west coast traction for granted some times.
Oh yeah, dry, all the stuff you see would have been easy stuff. Add a little east coast slickness and the rules change.
Come to the North West - same traction issues.
@@Casey250 We've wheeled there and you're right, it's similar.
@@wayalife "Dodging Trees" also becomes a newly learned skill set LOL
Jeepers Creepers !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That’s crazy I live in that area I know exactly where you guys are lol
Awesome! It was nice to be in your neck of the woods :)
Jeep needs to release the 2door JT!!!
Wife kicked me out of bed because of the music that keeps repeating so ima gunna finish this one on the couch in peace ✌🏽
i just waant one of those goody bags
LOL
Agghhh....Brand new rig and endless trees. Reminds me of how burned out you are after going thru trees on the Dusy! Your rig looks awesome!!!
LOL - yup, something like that only not as long as the Dusy :)
Nice video, that is Some other stuff than Moab..... have fun. Greetings from The Netherlands. ❤️🇺🇸✌️🥇👍💪
LOL - kind of like the exact opposite of Moab :)
AWESOME AMERICAN JEEPS
Awesome video! The first time I ever wheeled was at NORA 👍🏻
25:40 Epic indeed, Eddie I'm digging your Gladiator man, awesome!
Thank you :)
20:08 " ok well watch the f*ck out" I dont know why but I laughed so hard at that. Just the way he says it so nonchalantly
Yep, that'd be Dave :)
@@wayalife well Dave is hilarious
Well when ya gotta send it, there isn't much else to say. 😁
I was thinking that was a hold my beer moment!
did you air down your tire guys ? nice location and awesome video
How does one sign up for this event, or events like this?!
What Frank Parrish said, you need to go to the Nitto JL Experience website and apply.
I was wondering this same thing...would love to do these types of things, even though I'm getting a jk not a jl
Watching carefully, you can see just like the 4 door has advantages over the 2 door, the JT has the advantage over the 4 doors in anything involving climbing.
Oh yeah, where the JT has a disadvantage in the trees and with break over angles, its long wheel base does give it an advantage on climbs.
That had to be the fastest 28 minutes ever .
I take it you enjoyed it :)
What a cool video, we are from New York but from Long Island. Welcome to Mew York.
Thank you. Had a great time out there.
Another great video 👍
AND, the icing on the cake for me is I was born in Newburgh and I’m pretty sure that marina at the end was where my grandmother kept her sailboat docked.👍👍
No kidding, that's awesome.
Air down take a leak do whatever you gotta do another amazing video love all the Jeeps 👊🇺🇸
LOL - glad you enjoyed it :)
Glad to finally see you guys wheeling on the east coast. I see you guys “crawling” all the time and I’m like “can’t do that shit out here”.
LOL - wheeling on your slick and slimy rocks is a challenge for sure. Wait till you see the next video :)
Super Super video
Cheers 🥂 Eddie! Keep up the videos coming!
Looks like a great trip. Fun times.
Thanks! It really was a blast :)
Shoot I thought I blew my rear axle but turned out I was dragging my chain.😂🤣
LOL
Hi Eddie, could you make a video for newer wheelers, and explain how they can get involved with rides like this; like what rides are available annually, who to contact, what items you bring along, minimum build required to make it thru, etc. I have a feeling I'm not the only newbie. Thanks
Sure, I think we can manage to do that sometime. :)
@@wayalife - Thanks, I'll look forward to it.. Thanks for the response.
Do you have different tires installed on the 1991 Land Cruiser? How much does it cost with tires, and does it arrive in Saudi Arabia?
Its always fun to watch all these rigs that are use to crawling through nice sticky surfaces, come to the raining mossy trails, and what would look like a small obstacle can give you a hard time.
Yup, it was a lot of fun being able to play out on this slick terrain and really, this was the easy day. It only got harder or should I say, more fun from here.
where do I find one of those multi advertisement decals with skyjacker, pelican, ect. I want to deck out my jeep with what products I use but i cant seem to find them anywhere.
Glad you enjoy the videos and the decals are provided by the Dirt Experience when you attend their trips.
Awesome!! Ive been wheeling there, live not far from there and just bought a Gladiator Rubicon!
Awesome :)
hey Eddie Hyong! :)
its 1 of my Bucket list ( driving from West to East ) one day!
please make your episodes more longer haha !
LOL - glad you enjoyed our video enough to think it was too short :)
Hey Eddie,
nice build Gladiator!
I‘d love to go wheeln with you and the crew....
Nice rigs anyway!
Can‘t wait for next part....
Glad you enjoyed it and maybe someday we could hit the trails together.
Great video! Seems like the gladiator is doing extremely well with all the modifications you have done👍
I must say that I've been quite happy with it :)
Very nice ride. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it :)
I have lived in New England my entire life and I do not think many of us enjoy our steaks as hockey pucks lmao.... Medium cooked for me. In our neck of the woods, 2 door Jeeps shine the best with their tight turning radius and awesome breakover angle.
LOL - Oh yeah, taking a bigass Jeep Gladiator through your neck of the woods felt like driving a bull in a china shop. That being said... we did do it :)
@@wayalife Haha! Props to that. I am glad you made the trip out and shared it with us. Looking forward to watching Part 3.
Very cool to get to enjoy such an awesome experience with old friends and new. CONGRATS
Thank you :)
We were just there , off roading with Scott. it was part of the OctorberFest event they have there every year. Took my SuperCab Raptor joining 12 Jeeps for 6 fun hrs. Scott dint think i was going to make it through 2 spots, but then he didn't know who was talking to. One slight scrape of the passenger side step, powder coating still on. Lots of branches for pin-striping, but then my Vehicle is completely Wrapped In Xpel Ultimate. Im still washing it and trying to clean off all the mud on the under carriage...lol. Cool Video..Keep it up. We were on a different trail, more like Mud and logs and rocks, not like the one you're on with Boulders!
Awesome, glad you got to get out there and enjoy it :)
New York and Pennsylvania is nice this time of year. I deliver up that way a good bit. Hope all y'all have a good time looking forward to the next video.
Oh yeah, loved it out there!
@@wayalife glad to hear that I don't live far from Skyjacker and Superlift in Louisiana so glad to see a Skyjacker JT up there.
Wow, what a great video! Thank you so much!
Glad you liked it!
Ah the Jeep that drags it's balls over all the obstacles. The 2019 Jeep Gladiator.
Josh Lewis pretty sure there were a few JL’s doing the turtle thing too.
Hey guys I am to the other side of the world, "The Old Boot" - Italia
On November 4th I am taking a ferry boat from Genova-Italy to Rabat-Morocco, Africa.
Driving south all the way to Mauritania.
And than to the North in the Sahara Desert. Yes we are talking about Real Stuff. Overlanding for real.
6.000 miles of real punishment for my JK Rubicon 2 doors. Ciaoooooo.
Rear steer would be great for the truck in the tight trails.
That or an Atlas would have been nice so that we could do front side burns.
Can't wait to get mine 👍
Midnight Cravings can’t wait till we get them in Australia
That gladiator you guys have is a total beast. Absolutely beautiful rig and it looks like a total blast to wheel!
Thanks! Took a little getting used to but now, I LOVE the thing. So much fun to wheel :)
A lot different terrain wet leaves rocks etc a lot of sweet rigs great job to all gladiator rocks
Thank you :)
I miss that east coast granite. I used to think rocks were slippery till I moved out west.
Love your videos!! I have to ask: Is the double throwdown clicks when you are driving normally on the road? I'm really interested in this suspension but would like to know this details. Thanks!!
Any coilover system will produce some sound when driving normally.
To long of a story for me to tell all of the how's. But I traded a 2dr wrangler for a jt and have super bad buyers remorse. I hope I find some positive attributes soon. Glad you had fun and thanks for sharing 👍 😊
I suppose we're fortunate in that we still have both. I don't know if I'd want to give one up for the other. That said, it is a Jeep and there are lots of ways to make it more to however it is you want it to be.
I was looking for this update all weekend! Crazy right?
Hope you enjoyed it :)
That’s how I call having a good times . Hip Hip Hooray I want my Jeep gladiator too . Lol
Awesome! So glad you enjoyed seeing us having some fun with our Gladiator :)
Eddie i am with ya buddy on the Lobster ! Im 54 and my crown jewel Lobster was a 5 lbs fella from up north, best meal of my life i ate every bit 🤘 , your JT and that Skyjacker hellcat are still my favorites , although they were all beautiful rigs ,, one day Eddie one day lol...
Since i don't have the sway bar disconnect and the lockers on my Gladiator, would I have had trouble getting over those ledges in the first trail you guys took shown in the video?
You can manually disconnect your sway bar links but without lockers, it would be a lot harder to get up these ledges.
I want to have a jeep. so that I can, explore the beautiful nature.
A Jeep will help you do that well :)
Well it looks like you need to go back to the drawing board with more ground clearance! Thanks for sharing ill make some adjustments on my Gladiator.
more ground clearance is a double edge sword.
Hello I would just like to know how you installed and ran your wires for your CB is it possible and/or do you have a video of doing so if it's no trouble to you can you describe and/or show how you ran your wiring for the antenna thank you
Most of what you're wanting to know can be found in this video ua-cam.com/video/8J-CEYysATY/v-deo.html
I ran the antenna cable the same way, through the roll bar trim and then slipped it in between the hard top and the body right where the seam is near the corner.
The Catskills, Adirondacks , and Finger Lakes are great areas of NYS. Shhhh! Let's keep it our secret.
This thing is bad ass
Glad you like what you see :)
Nice work again Eddie and Cindy!!
Thank you :)
Glad you guys got up to New England area. Not sure of your itinerary, but hopefully you’re headed to Mohawk Mountain in Mass- lots of good trails there.
I'm right in the other side of the bridge in beacon!
Very cool. Beautiful area.
I have a feeling the same conversations were being had about the longer wheel base in 2007.
Oh yeah, I was there when it all happened. Hell, I was there when people were bitching about the TJ coming with coils instead of leaf springs LOL
I agonized over getting the long CJ7 instead of a CJ5 back in '76.
My black JL is hard as heck to keep clean but looks badass when it is. Wish Cindy was a little taller for videoing purposes. 😍
This is making me cringe. I’d rather not attempt to break a 40-80 thousand dollar vehicle.
LOL - the whole point of building up a Jeep to this level is so that you can push them to the limit and without breaking them.
Can you get rid of the tacky music? Been on a few videos now and it’s not great. Mostly annoying. The rest is fab.
Can you not be such a self-important internet bitch. Turn off the sound on your computer if you don't like what you hear. Problem solved. :)
im over here crying wishing i could be out there like eddie with my dad in our jeep gladiator and im over here crying cause i cant believe my school district took off my welding classes but i kinda know why,its probably since im not there cause of my broken ankle and big bone
Eddie, I would say the JT's faired better than the JL's!... Just say'n...
Where tight and narrow trees weren't an issue the JT did seem to have an advantage. Especially on the big climbs.
I could have swore everyone was going to get in a circle
Man a two door with 37s would have been perfect there. Too bad they were all as long as a 4 door f350.
LOL - well yeah. The whole point was to see IF a long truck like the Gladiator "could" do any this stuff.
Another great video / love the guy in the synergy Jeep“ just lay into it? Alright watch out”
Veo todos tus videos pero lamentablemente no entiendo el ingles
