Hi I like your stove my camping stove is a token of history,is that butane gas? I really like your dog nice and a great company. I used to van life many years ago, with my kids when my ex just left us without warning, got homeless just glad I had a minivan, we used rice cooker for the most part and boil eggs ,tomato, tuna,sardines,salmon,bread,butter etc, I took off off one seat it’s an Aerostar, put cushion lots of pillows, sleeping bags, we’ve survived until I got on my foot worked and able to buy a house in the process. This was in early 90s. Now my kids are all grown up,on their own now except for one still with me,he turned to be all good man. Your video brought back memories of those days. I stay in motel 6 at least once a week for showers all of us 5 people w a baby. So thankful my mom is with me those days, twas a big help. Twas fine in the van cozy ,took my kids everywhere ,stopped sleep in the van in truck stops,and that time I used to have casino free hotel offered and took advantage of it,my kids had fun. Got lucky in slot machine. Those times free Buffett too. Your vanlife kinda brought me to those bittersweet part of my life adventure with my children and mom. Now kinda thinking probably will try to just go camping and vanlife weekend and go home. I was glad I had a van those times when my ex left us. Doable life.

Hi Rowan and Ruby….I absolutely love the Avenue of the Giants. My late husband brought me to CA many times, and we almost always found our way to the Redwoods area if possible. There was another cool place to check out in the redwoods where you walk paths and they have different clusters named ….I’m so sorry that I can’t remember the name, but I bet if you google redwood sites or sites to see, I bet it would be listed. Thank you for bringing me down memory lane. I relate too well on the major losses. My husband and my mother were both diagnosed with different cancers within 3 weeks of each other. Both doing treatments at the same time. My husband made 9 months…..my Mom was still doing treatments, and 7 months later she was gone. Sending comforting hugs and good vibes.

I really enjoyed the Redwoods I hope I get to visit there sometime. I have a tip for opening jars that I came upon by serendipity. The health food stores have these waxed pieces of fabric as a substitute for wrapping sandwich type foods instead of wax paper. I had tried one of those one day when I could not get the parts of a new immersion blender to come apart for cleaning. It worked and it has worked for jar lids and tube lids and anything I have tried to open. I have cut it into smaller pieces to have pieces for non kitchen use and others for kitchen use. I keep a piece in the car and my bag. As an artist, it has opened paint tubes. That wax on the fabric grips without hurting anything. Safe travels to you and Ruby
I love your videos and your lifestyle. Wish I knew how to start, seems so overwhelming to me to start the process. I yearn to live a simple life and rid of all the "stuff" I just had to have but it means nothing. I want to see things I've never seen, be out of the city and actually be by myself. I always wanted to see the giant red wood trees. They are beautiful. Thank you. I live in SC and have never traveled much. I’ve been to Pennsylvania, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and spent one day in Tennessee, pass through Louisiana only because we missed our turn going somewhere else.

The first trip we brought my family dog on after getting him was to the redwoods, probably very near where you are here... He had a lot of herding dog in him and we were able to just let roam off leash, he had the time of his life running around that forest, climbing over logs and herding us down the trail. He passed away this last September. This brought back a lot of good memories, thanks for sharing.
That was one of my most favorite trips on the west coast- the Redwoods and where they meet the sea at Trinidad, (2 hours south of Oregon), so beautiful, SO Beautiful.❤ I remember that the people there were warm and sweet and friendly.
I have wanted to see redwoods since I was a little girl! I can't wait to make the trek from VA to WA to see them one day! Thank you for sharing your time in the redwoods with us!

I feel like shes missing out not looking out the window but she has to do her thing and thats laying next to me. You are so brave driving so far and never acting like you're nervous to miss a turn let alone sleeping in you van. I admire you for going for life. You're special and i love your character! Looks like you got a hair cut? I love the layers makes you look younger too! I get to see parts of the country following you. Ruby is so happy! I love watching her run! She's so well behaved also and comes back to you as soon as you call her name. I've been trying some of the tea's you drink. I fine your philosophy interesting. You remind me of a modern Nomad.
