Some air horns are audible up to a 1/2 mile. I encourage you, if you haven't already, to purchase 1 for your vehicle, and one that goes with you anytime you hike. The incredibly loud sound can deter many predators. More importantly, if a creature has you or Ruby in its clutches, this sound will most likely get the predator to drop what is in its mouth and run away from this sound as fast as possible. When I consider how much nature you and your precious 💞Ruby cover on a daily/weekly basis, it occurs to me that this device can preserve both of your lives. Be well & take good care, Joy 🌊
Just a idea but get small towels and wet them with cold water. Then put them in ziplock bags and place in cooler. You can use them when you and Ruby need cooled down. We always put on the back of neck.
Yes, this! My German grandmother did that years ago when she visited us in the Florida summer. Putting the cold washcloth on her wrists and the back of her neck. 🤗
There’s a cooling vest you can get for Ruby. You soak it in cool water and put it on like a harness. It cools the dog’s body throughout the day. REI Carrie’s them.
So true cause I had a neighbor that slept in her car for a while and she was abruptly woken up at night sometimes by security in parking lots cause they get to know your vehicle
You put the plug in the fridge upside down. There is this little metal piece on the top of the socket in the fridge. The slot that goes into is on the other side of the plug. So turn your plug 180 degrees and maybe it will work then.
I think you should hold off on going out to dog parks in that heat… Dogs can overheat and have heat stroke, also their paw can burn from the heat on the ground
I was going to say the same. I'm in Texas, so it's definitely hot here. I always walk my dog on the grass and am very careful, to not keep him out long but enough to enjoy frolicking in the grass a little. Lol. Always keep water with us, and we can go several times a day, just smaller walks when it's terrible hot.

Hello! Missoulian here! Yes! You were right by the University of Montana! The 'L' is for Loyola Sacred Heart High School. Idk when you were here but we just had a MASSIVE wind storm, 107mph winds on the mountain near the 'M'. Hence all the branches. May be why the burned area you found. July and August is almost always really hot. And smokey. I dont blame you for leaving lol!
Always remember when she gets overheated don’t cool her down too fast, as a nurse I can say their bodies are like ours..you don’t want to send her into shock. Poor baby. I have a black dog and we live on the beach in Alabama so the humidity is 98% right now..

Here in Australia I came heaps with just and Esky (cooler) and what I do is freeze 3 Litre (0.7 gallon) plastic bottles from either juice or milk that are filled with water and that one will stay frozen for 3-4 days in 38C (100F) weather so if you can constantly have a few frozen you can keep everything constantly cold. Been contemplating it since 2012. Should have done it in 2013 when I had some spare cash. I'm more than fed up with renting homes. It used to be fine, but it's becoming increasingly unpleasant (people hounding me; it seems to be age-related) and all I now do when I rent is put money into other people's pockets for something that makes me miserable, also for other reasons. That is just stoopid. I love the idea of being in a van, have thought about it a lot now. I can do this. (But I need some more money, to buy a van. Sometimes I will marinate the meat in a teensy bit of vinegar on hand. Wish I'd had that ice cream though. Did I miss when Ruby got that fabulous Everything Bagel toy. I'd like to get my doggie one. Nice and sturdy and easy for her to grab. I'll Google it. PS I've been told when it's too hot go north (meaning altitude.)

If your air conditioner is not putting out the coldness that it should be putting out you may not go to O'Reilly's automotive and buy some freon and ask them if they would put it in for you. It's so good to see you traveling again and having a good time at Ruby has really grown and she is such a good dog. I live in Bozeman MT. We’re a little cooler than Missoula. But, we have had a 3 week stretch of it being in the 90’s. This week it’s supposed to cool down to the 70’s and 80’s. Come visit Bozeman we’re about 3.5 hours away. I go to the Gallatin Regional dog park it has a dog pond in it and a .5 mile walking loop around it, lots of room for Ruby to run.

I keep a spray bottle handy to cool my dog down since she’s not a fan of jumping in the water either. Her paws may be getting hot was well. Walking in the grass is the best on hotter days. Ruby is adorable, and she’s so lucky to be so well cared for and loved.

I just watched a UA-camr that lives in his car, and he has a portable AC unit that can vent out the car window. He put it in the front seat. He installs it when he stops for the night. He said it also has a heat and fan mode as well. A portable freezer makes sense! Good purchase!

I have to give you a compliment you must be in a much happier state of mind because from the first time i've ever watched your videos which I want to say is about 6-7 months ago you look much younger I think ruby has gave you strength&lots of love and I think getting this nice size van has also been a good thing for you you have great videos.
One more thing, lol. Have you thought about getting a PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER for your van? Ive heard they work excellent! Maybe even better than a regular window unit.They have all sizes and dont really cost all that much. I think theres a small one for just over $100. They stand up, plug into a regular amp plug socket. They have 3 fan speeds, a Dehumidifier that keeps it cool also and the a/c. There also one that comes with a air conditioner and is also a heater. Just see about how many square feet your van is and the smaller the area the cheaper it will be.They stand upright and dont take up much room. All you have to allow for is theres a 3 to 4" inch hose that you need to put outside a window for the hot air to blow out. It comes with the hose and a window kit that is easy to put in the window so its secure and safe. You can take it on and off window at any time. Check Walmart Online for info. MIDEA PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER/ AND HEATER, if you need it for the winter. You'd save your gas from letting your van 0:01 . Sorry, just an idea for you. Maybe you should consider a suggestion I saw a while back when you were building the inside. Someone had said to buy 4x4s post for the corners of your bed so it lifts it enough for you to slide storage in and out from under your bed. Glad you got a freezer. Good addition.
Get ice cube trays for your freezer so you and Ruby will have when needed. At Walmart they have different sizes so they will fit your freezer. Be careful in this heat. Love yall. 🐕🦺💜🌹🤗🙏💜
Amazon has a set of thermomiters (so one can be in the freezer, and one in the fridge) with a digital reader you keep outside the fridge/freezer. Really convenient to monitor them w/o having to open them.

Glue some velcro on the back of the freezer, and then attach a strap that is long enough to go out to the front, it will be easy to pull out.

You can rub the steaks in turmeric to add a healthy addition to your meal❤ like half a tsp for 1 serving.

I just watched a UA-camr that lives in his car, and he has a portable AC unit that can vent out the car window. He put it in the front seat. He installs it when he stops for the night. He said it also has a heat and fan mode as well. A portable freezer makes sense! Good purchase!
I have been mentioning this for a while. It’s not good to be in a hot car or cold car in the winter.
If that was the cord that came with the freezer, try turning the plug in the other direction, with the cord exiting up rather than down.

I have to give you a compliment you must be in a much happier state of mind because from the first time i've ever watched your videos which I want to say is about 6-7 months ago you look much younger I think ruby has gave you strength&lots of love and I think getting this nice size van has also been a good thing for you you have great videos.

One more thing, lol. Have you thought about getting a PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER for your van? Ive heard they work excellent! Maybe even better than a regular window unit.They have all sizes and dont really cost all that much. I think theres a small one for just over $100. They stand up, plug into a regular amp plug socket. They have 3 fan speeds, a Dehumidifier that keeps it cool also and the a/c. There also one that comes with a air conditioner and is also a heater. Just see about how many square feet your van is and the smaller the area the cheaper it will be.They stand upright and dont take up much room. All you have to allow for is theres a 3 to 4" inch hose that you need to put outside a window for the hot air to blow out. It comes with the hose and a window kit that is easy to put in the window so its secure and safe. You can take it on and off window at any time. Check Walmart Online for info. MIDEA PORTABLE AIR CONDITIONER/ AND HEATER, if you need it for the winter. You'd save your gas from letting your van 0:01 . Sorry, just an idea for you. Maybe you should consider a suggestion I saw a while back when you were building the inside. Someone had said to buy 4x4s post for the corners of your bed so it lifts it enough for you to slide storage in and out from under your bed. Glad you got a freezer. Good addition.
Get ice cube trays for your freezer so you and Ruby will have when needed. At Walmart they have different sizes so they will fit your freezer. Be careful in this heat. Love yall. 🐕🦺💜🌹🤗🙏💜

Amazon has a set of thermomiters (so one can be in the freezer, and one in the fridge) with a digital reader you keep outside the fridge/freezer. Really convenient to monitor them w/o having to open them.
