My parents immigrated to the states when I was 3, in 1960. Back then you couldn't get SaltnVinegar in the USA. Old Dutch in Canada made them. My Nana would send us SaltnVinegar chips, Caramilk chocolate bars and meat pies 😂 Oh how excited we would get.
Ruby cracks me up how playful she is, I love how she is such a good girl and stays close and doesn't run off. You can tell she really is enjoying zipping around on the beach 😏

My little dog Cisco loves when i can pick up from the grocery store a small piece of bone marrow, usually the butcher will give you free, i fill the centre withorganic peanut butter, just get at health food store, cheap, and freeze it. Good for his teeth, cools him down in summer, loves gnawing on it in general and really healthy, something different ❤❤
Stay by the lake with the breeze coming off of it to avoid the black flies. They bite, can swarm you, and they LUV bug spray. Been going up there for over 40 years. It’s gorgeous. Enjoy!
Those black flies are nasty bast*rds! They like humid days with no breeze. I used to get swarmed just terrible. They loved me for some reason. One day I went running screaming waving my arms into a little convenience store along the highway to get away from them and a huge swarm of flies followed me in the door. The person working there passed out fly swatters to all the customers …LOL TRUE STORY. All you can hope for is the big lake has a nice breeze coming off of it and hang there. Otherwise, we saved bad flies days for napping inside or going for a drive.
Sweet onion chips are amazing. Dogs can't have onion or garlic, it's toxic to their respiratory system. Also for her teething, you could get her a Kong ball or bone. If you can't afford that, you could let her chomp a piece of tree branch lol my dog loves them. Maybe you could get her a big bone from the butcher, it should be labeled soup bone. Sweet onion kettle chips are my favorite 😋 may want to get her a hartz flea and tick collar, they're good for a year and work great. I get mine at Walmart and the Hartz collar for fleas, ticks and the eggs. Never had any issues. I don't give my dogs any oral medicine for flea and tick, because I don't trust that. My family has always trusted Hartz collar since I was a child. Also if you get her shots, make sure to get the Bordatello shot so she's protected against anything an animal may have left disease wise ❤️ sorry for so much advice, but we love and care for you two and want the best for you. We enjoy our journey with you. Be safe ❤
My dog liked ice cubes when his teeth hurt. He still likes them as treats but he really liked them when he was a puppy and he was getting his adult teeth.
A bald eagle just ate a couple of our chickens the other day and I saw crows and a mockingbird chase it away the next day. Rudy is a joy. God bless and best wishes with all you're doing!

I think she would love to chase a ball or stick. You can get that one at the dollar store that has the long handle with the ball at the end and it just flip it that will give her so much exercise all the energy. She has stay safe and keep enjoying your life.

For my cat I take some chicken pate mixed with a little water to make a gravy and add to kibble. Could do the same for Ruby. Kibble is too hard on her young mouth.
Love the ideas of pancakes or waffles for Ruby to chew on. I second the idea of canned food for Ruby. You know Ruby looks part Visla to me...they are known for being energetic and affectionate as well as great with other dogs. she's a beauty!!! Love her name too. I missed where you got her from. Hi Rowen. Hope you get this. I worked at a Pet Store. I notice Ruby isn't to excited about Her Food. I highly recommend Nutro. These foods have what Dogs and Cats need. Cannot recommend enough. Food makes beautiful shiny coat and alleviates skin problems. And they love It! You two are awesome. Definitely need more Ruby. Both so Cute.

I think the Michigan coastline is the prettiest yet not spoiled by those who have mostly spoiled CA and most of the other coastlines. It touched all 7 great lakes. Not sure people know that fun fact. Puctured rocks are our favorite spot by far. We used to take our boat up there as young newly weds to water ski in the summers. PS do you give Ruby soft food. Not trying to tell you what to do but we learned that easy to chew food is easier on domesticated pets and a fresh marrow bone is great for their teeth to be kept clean. We lost our little sweet dog to heart disease caused by teeth issues caused by a rich spoiled owner who gave him no preventative care. We gave him after his first 7 years of pure neglect and abuse the best life we could after we got him. But the teeth neglect actually caused heart valve issues. Just sharing because we choose to bring pets and children into our lives. We. Owe. Them. We will be going to MI again in a couple of years. We have friends there and lived there a long time. Hit the dunes if you go through Indiana. Hope you get to Mackinac island where one of my favorite films was made! If you see it up in the thumb is a A&W run by 2 teachers in the summer who make fresh white fish sandwiches off the lake. We never forgot that treat.

Fun fact (for me): I had never seen a drain plug like the one you put on your sink til you showed us that one. And now there's one in the bathtub here at my new apartment. The best thing for moose is to see it in the distance. My oldest nephew used to call folded chips like that wish chips.

I live in Michigan, Traverse City is the best town to visit. Once you are finished in the UP if you travel down lake Michigan side you would enjoy the ride it's beautiful. Also you can take a ferry in your van from lake Michigan side over to Wisconsin if you didn't know. so happy you made it to MI its still cold but the great lakes are pretty.

Watching from Western Australia. I recently came across your channel. I think you are amazing, living in your van & how you have it set up & travelling on your own with Ruby.
How often do you find you do a mass clean out and clean up of your fan? As someone who suffers from pretty severe ocd, I could see me missing out on all the fun stop and exciting adventures that await you at each stop. I would be too busy reorganizing every square inch of the fan and do laundry and all the non fun stuff. I am 70 years old. Need to stop and smell the roses! Maybe your vlogs will inspire me!

Only because they need dry food to keep teeth clean. So try some canned meat or cook chicken breast plain but cooked a little bit once a week

If you get some chicken broth and pour it over the hard food it will get softer don't give her anything with onion or garlic on it it's toxic to dogs

How often do you find you do a mass clean out and clean up of your fan? As someone who suffers from pretty severe ocd, I could see me missing out on all the fun stop and exciting adventures that await you at each stop. I would be too busy reorganizing every square inch of the fan and do laundry and all the non fun stuff. I am 70 years old. Need to stop and smell the roses! Maybe your vlogs will inspire me!
