I was born in 1952 on a California avocado farm, we also mostly grew all our food, so I literally ate directly from the earth!! My picture is dated, it's not that old... point being... try to keep an open mind when listening/learning from these experts... I have benefited greatly from listening to these types of podcasts.... take what you need/can and slowly you will experience benefit!!!
As a physician who know biochemistry and whose parents owned and operated a health weight loss facility for over 50 years I can’t agree with not eating breakfast. Yes eat mostly plants not too much food but get 1.2 G/kg of plant protein per day. Yes talk walks. Avoid all highly palatable processed food. Eat beans (legumes) other veggies and fruit every day. Minimize all meat. Discover if u]you have a food sensitivity by eliminating a single food and see if you feel better. Over 450 million people worldwide wide have illness due to wheat, barley, rye (gluten) eg., nonceliac gluten sensitivity or even celiac disease, wheat anaphylaxis or wheat ataxia. There are other food sensitivities eg nuts or dairy especially yogurt, or soy but for most these foods are not a problem and excellent sources of protein. There are several great plant proteins like tofu and fermented soybeans (tempeh). Then resistance exercise and walking are great exercises…keep it simple…you don’t need a fancy gym. Anyone who lives N of 30° latitude or spends most days inside should have supplemental vit D3. Many adults also benefit from Magnesium supplementation (eg., magnesium glycinate or magnesium taurate). No one should supplement their diet without discussing it with their personal physician. If you consume a wide variety of plants especially seeds, nuts, beans (legumes), greens, multiple colors of veggies, whole fruit and minimal meat and the rest above will be your healthiest. Abstain from alcohol and tobacco, illicit drugs, and always wear your seatbelt. Be safe and be well.
@@g.i.520 I didn’t say not to eat it. I wrote minimize it as the longest lived humans eat more plants and less meat-if you care about longevity. Numerous studies link animal fat to type2 diabetes and high animal protein diets to promote MTOR which accelerates aging. High meat consumption diets are also linked with CV disease and even cancer depending on processing and cooking methods. A processed vegan diet can be equally unhealthy.
Skipping meals does not work for me. I have a good breakfast, a good lunch and a good dinner and have so much energy all day. I don’t over eat. When I tried skipping breakfast, I would tend to overindulge in the afternoon. I think everyone is so different and everybody’s bodyresponse so differently and it’s finding out what works best for each individual.
Search "maintenance diet" dieting is one of those things that you can, and SHOULD, plan long term. If I wish today to lose 20 lbs but i only lose 3 in the next 2 years, I WILL STILL CALL THAT A VICTORY
Eat a healthy whole plants, no processed foods at all, plenty of plants protein, and move, move and move, do strength training and go to sleep at same time everyday and wake up 8 hours later. Bingo.
@@michellehaislip4232 the short version: my digestive system couldn't absorb nutrients from vegetables.. I get watery diahrea. Also I can't digest beans either.. Maybe some green beans, it just depends on how long they're cooked. I am slowly getting my fingernails healed, I take b12 shot once a month and I'm thinking of going on an elimination diet.

Absolutely!

I think I lack perseverance .I am ashamed of myself. Not a little. However, I try to live healthy. 😢😢
Pray to Jesus for perseverance and he will aid you!

My diversity is great, beef, mutton, pork amazing diversity and it’s so easy and you feel great.
mutton all the way
Mutton - oh my. You must watch the Seinfeld episode on mutton. Hilarious
@@theresatomasello1843 I saw it I didn’t get it. I’ve always loved mutton much more taste than lamb
That’s funny. I think part of the humor is the name itself. It’s just not something Americans usually eat, at least not that I know of.
Intermittent fasting is overrated. Some people are unable to skip meals. It comes down to calories in and calories out

No leftovers
