Inside today's video we answer an important question.... Stretch before or after your workouts?
Stretching has been promoted as one of the essential pieces to a complete warm up. However, is it really that important? And how does it actually affect athletic performance.
Here are some further studies that show the effects of static stretching.
    Studies over stretching:
    #1: journals.lww.com/nsca-jscr/Cit...
    #2: journals.lww.com/nsca-jscr/Abs...
    #3: www.journalijdr.com/sites/defa...
Now static stretching can be beneficial for achieving flexibility gains when done properly. However, the effect it has will differ from person to person.
That's why it's important for you to learn the several types of stretching and train a mix of all of them to find which methods will give you the best results.
After you go through our 5 min Mobility Session (You Can Grab Free At The Link Above!) we will send you an email over our in-home flexibility program which will introduce you to several different stretching styles and reveal when you should use them for best results.

Man, there is no "perfect" stretching workout. It depends of the sport you're doing, find the exercises that suit the best your activity and yourself (find your weaknesses related to your sport). Most important information of this videos is that avoiding static stretch before doing sport is better. Global warm up + dynamic stretch = better performances and less injuries.

I'm new to parkour, i am on day 3 of your guide, and day 4 of personal training, and i am loving it! i hope i can be even further motivation to others that anyone can do it!!! i started off 350lbs and as of today i am down to 340 after just 4 days of training. i also have the jump and standard landing, roll, speed vault, saftey and turn vaults pretty much down thanks to you guys, the only one so far that i have gotten to but havent been able to get down is the wall run only due to parkour being seriously frowned upon where i am, and my house is not capable of withstanding the weight i apply. but i plan on continuing the training and practice because i am having sooo much fun, everyday obstacles that i thought were impossible to overcome are becoming challenges that i can't wait to try!!!

When I was a in my teens I started doing static stretching in the mornings before my workout and I pulled a muscle on my lover back which did not heal for about six months...
Since that time I never EVER do any stretching before warming up.

Thanks. You guys could also post a link about dynamic stretching. I couldn't find a related video in your channel, so it would be a good idea to create a video about this. (and don't forget to write the link here). Since a couple of months ago that I discovered your video '5 min. routine stretching' I keep doing this each morning. I guess it's time to move on to dynamic stuff.

Been using your morning 5 stretches, works wonders. Also love your other flexibility and mobility exercises. The ninja distant jumps, the QM movements was difficult at first, but after a week, i have seen marked improvements.
Key is go slow with your body if u having difficulties. Dont wanna to risk injuries. Our body muscle and nervous system will find a way to perform as long as we repeat those exercises systematically. Follow a routine and stick to it and everyone can see improvements.

So I guess doing interset stretching (when training in a sets x reps fashion) isn't good for performance as well either.
And what do you guys think about just randomly doing static stretching throughout the day? Would it be better to do instead dynamic stretching in those cases? For example to fix a tight muscle, or over time increase range of motion and muscle length.

I dislocated my shoulder in january, it got relocated to its position in february doing "reverse plank bridge" by the masters of calimove. Because i didn't know it was out! I thought that was enough but it still hurts now in may-28. Does applying an ice bag for 20 minutes and then a hot water bag on it for another 20 minutes help? Do you know the cure? Please help, I don't know whom to ask. I ask because it happened because I didn't stretch or heat up before figuring out what was a planche!

Since i am an assistant coach freerunning i agree that stretching (90% dynamic and 10% static) you have to do after the workouts. The only moment when you CAN do the static stretching (100%) is during your cooling down. So how about static stretching during the cooling down???

I'd be careful with static stretches after really tough workouts. If the muscles you want to stretch are completely fatigued, you can potentially get in trouble with some static stretches, especially static passive ones (i.e. gravity assisted splits). It's really easy to go beyond your limits if you cannot control how you get into it and how you hold it.
