@@StevetheBartender_ this format is excellent! I love to travel. If I want to make cocktails abroad I'm not going to buy a whole new bar's worth of spirits and drink myself silly to finish them before I go back so 1 bottle + easy ingredients is perfect!!
Here we go! My annual 2 month period, where I absolutely binge all of your video's in preparation for New Year's Eve. Cheers, Steve! I can always count on you for inspiration.
There’s nothing to dislike or critique about anything you put out. Nothing but amazing content. Very impressive from seeing your older videos, to having a baby and now making a book with the Codes to bring you to a video. Outstanding, Steve. Congratulations! My entire life is based on eating and making drinks and you amongst a few other UA-camrs which you’re well aware of are partly the reason for that and I thank you! Cheers!
One of my favourites is the bourbon blush, blueberries, simple syrup, lemon juice and bourbon, muddle the blueberries, wet shake pour over iced, pretty and delicious
I just followed your recipe to a tee for the Gold Rush- made my own honey syrup for the first time. This drink is sooo good! After a trip to bourbon country have become a connoisseur of bourbon 🥃
I bought your cocktail book, and it's fantastic. The Whiskey section is my favorite, the bourbon cocktails specifically. I love the Gold Rush the most so far, but the Whiskey Sour and Whiskey Smash are really close behind. You're 100% right that honey just works so well with Bourbon, cheers.
Steve, my favorite part of your channel of course is your drink mixology skills but right there as number 2, the little thing you do while shaking drink when you go from serious/concentrated to smiling at the camera. Class mate, CLASS!!
Steve, love your channel! We tried the Brown Derby tonight and have designated it as a “DD” (dangerous drink). Drinks that are so tasty, so smooth, go down so easy so you can easily drink 3 before you realize you’re in trouble! 😂 Great stuff, mate! Keep the mixology coming, we’re dedicated fans! Cheers!
The step-by-step demonstrations, coupled with useful tips and variations, make it easy for viewers to recreate these delicious beverages at home. The visuals are visually appealing, with close-ups of the mixing process, garnishes, and the final presentation, adding to the overall appeal of these cocktails.
Just in time for Saturday-night-cocktail-night at my house! Thanks Steve for making all cocktails more relatable and easy to make for mere mortals like me. 😉
I remember long ago on UA-cam before it got all fancy with countless ads and bartenders talked about the Whiskey Sour controversy with the egg white. It was quite fun to listen to the arguments. So, one happy Friday I decided to make it at home. I think I used your recipe. OMG! A game changer. You really do not know there is egg in there. It is beyond delicious and changed my view forever.
Steve I just preordered my copy of your book. Thank you for always bringing us an amazing content, with facts and straight to the point. I love all of your videos.
Great video! I'm definitely going to try the Gold rush and the whisky smash. Also, I like using the orange bitters for the old fashions - it adds a little orange kick. Thanks!
Thanks for doing these kinds of videos. Kind of a one-stop for a single base cocktail. Really helpful for trying new things (and being reminded of the classics).
Nice lounge here in california that makes the Kentucky maid adding a splash, 1/4oz St Germain, called it a Kentucky Preacher....really good..and..... Thanks for the videos
That sounds like a cross between a Kentucky Maid (bourbon, cucumber, lime, mint) and a Irish Maid (Irish whiskey, elderflower, cucumber, lemon, mint)...which sounds tasty!
I made the Kentucky Maid. Very tasty. I then tried a London Maid with the same recipe, replacing the bourbon with Gin (Bombay Safire). Even though I'm a big bourbon fan, I liked the gin version even better. Very tasty and refreshing. Great video by the way. You're my go to cocktail source. Thanks!
Alright Steve! Just ordered your signed book and I can't wait for it to arrive in Eskilstuna, Sweden. Work as a bartender myself and you are the one I look up to. Awesome channel and amazing videos. 🍻 Cheers!
Best old fashion I've had so far was from Heinholds First and Last Chance Saloon in Oakland California. Only difference from the one you made was the bartender added 2-3 dashes of aromatic bitters. Great drink!!
Perfect timing! Just got a new bottle of Bulleit and wanted to try some new cocktails besides my basic mint julep or old fashioned! I’ll definitely be trying the Kentucky Maid tomorrow! Cheers!
The Kentucky Maid is excellent... and same with the Irish Maid (Irish whiskey instead of bourbon, lemon instead of lime and a touch of elderflower liqueur)..
Amazing clip brother! Love the new slow-mo close up edits in this!! Visually appealing to the eye too! Definitely trying some of these! Great to see you back mate! 🤘🏼
20 years ago I worked at a liquor store in Indiana. Back then, blue laws kept us closed on Sundays. One time, the boss took us to Bardstown KY to visit Buffalo Trace and others. We got private tastings at all the places. At buffalo trace, we even chose two bottles that would be bottled just for our store.
oh yes! this is what I've been wanting for years. since where I'm living at only allows one bottle of alcohol at a time it's hard to find drinks I love with nothing more than just one bottle.
I've seen many of your videos and I think this is my favorite. Of course, I am a bourbon lover. Interesting to know how the Old Fashioned name evolved.
It’s crazy that you can get Buffalo Trace Bourbon in Australia. It never, almost never, makes it to the liquor store shelves in North East Ohio. Great episode Steve!
Great clip mate, the last two cocktails are my favorite. Particularly like the hearing about the history of the Old Fashioned, makes alot of sense. Cheers.
Everything about this video is great! I like the stylish format while your personality is still authentic and shines through! That’s Friday night sorted as well! Cheers.
Old fashioned is my fav and like adding orange as well as ango bitters, and agave syrup is my goto sweetener... The gold rush is my medicinal drink when I have a cold, especially served warm like a hot toddy... Keep your mint drinks, though lol
Great video! I guess I know what I’m doing next weekend! Just received notification on Amazon that your book is now on order and not on presale. Can’t wait! As for the Boston sour, please, let’s not give them any more credit than they deserve. It’s a whiskey sour!

Love all your videos but the format for this was great! Hope you do one with Rye cocktails in the future (though I know that's fairly close to bourbon lol)
Got a company away weekend coming up and I've planned to do 3 of your past recipes, the Gin punch, French 75 and the mojito because it's just a classic. Looking forward to putting all my kit to use 😁
Two questions: 1. Do you refrigerate either simple syrup or honey syrup? 2. Can you explain why you always strain it onto fresh ice? Why not use the same ice that was in the shaker? Thanks so much!
Did you use a cheese slicer for the Old Fashioned orange peel? If so, brilliant - I never thought of that! My peeler always makes such a thin slice that it just withers in my hand when I try to express it. 🤩
Also can I just say, thank you for illustrating the "reverse dry shake" on the whiskey sour! Forgetting the dry shake is such a common mistake for me and I've always just kind of grumbled and moved on when it happens. One thing that I run into when double straining a sour is that, along with the ice, the strainer seems to hold back almost all of the foam. I run into this even when I just use the hawthorne. Any tips on how to avoid this? Or is it likely an issue with the tools and should I look for a less fine strainer?
