I was thinking the same thing - these penalties are a way to get money from almost the entire population of India whereas only about 3-5% of the country was paying income tax. The revenues from this exercise will pull India out of recession. Smart idea. But I do hope they restore the previous level of traffic fines because the current ones are just insane. My opinion.

He has been talking about the looming economic crisis since 2017 in his interviews & also saying that bad economics will not lead to losing elections. The govt tomtoms it's achievements but when it comes to challenges the blame goes to previous govts. Be brave to own up to mistakes maybe not publicly but by acting on it. Post the budget it took the FM almost 40 days to agree that certain provisions were hurting the economy despite several indicators. Also to term the reversals as some kind of sops is quite foolish.

He has been talking about the looming economic crisis since 2017 in his interviews & also saying that bad economics will not lead to losing elections. The govt tomtoms it's achievements but when it comes to challenges the blame goes to previous govts. Be brave to own up to mistakes maybe not publicly but by acting on it. Post the budget it took the FM almost 40 days to agree that certain provisions were hurting the economy despite several indicators. Also to term the reversals as some kind of sops is quite foolish.
