I like the form factor the z13 has to offer, but that using only the intel cpu is a big deal for me. how can they market the tablet scenario, when the cpu has almost half the battery life of the Ryzen variant. I have no problem with the keyboard because I use an external mechanical keyboard anyway (using X13 will be in tent mode or tabletop mode), but I like Z13 scenario better where you can straight remove the keyboard, but still does not justify the cons on battery life and higher price. also 300$ difference, you could buy X13 + 2TB external SSD + dongle. I think only get Z13 if you are really depend on that thunderbolt port.
I hope you'll get your hands on the latest Asus Zenbook 14X OLED UX5401and review it. It's been months since it was introduced yet still no handson reviews and price 😔
I got the M16 this year, got a bit (or rather) disappointed with the battery life, which literally sucks. Really looking foward to the X13 getting a RTX3060 or a RX6700S, if there's enough internal space in future models. I could really use some extra VRAM, since Forza Horizon is what I mainly play. Also I hope the screens can get a better response time.
Good review Mr. Matthew. I prefer X13 over Z13 any day since it's more value for money option. Also, X13 is future proof since its hardware is under the keyboard just like in any other laptops, whereas the Z13 has all its hardware including the battery under the display which is very risky. If its battery bulges or leaks, the whole hardware is prone to damages along with the battery, then you just have to throw the device away and get yourselves a new device. Also, the Z13 can't be used on your laptop like a normal laptop, you have to place it on a stable surface if you want to use the keyboard. You haven't covered the stylus in your comparison. I'm a student and I use my Galaxy Tab S7 for my note-taking and my laptop for all other windows related stuff which is burdensome if you wanna carry both devices. So, I'm planning to get myself a 2 in 1. I have researched some decent 2 in 1s like Samsung Galaxy Book 2 Pro 360, HP Spectre, MS Surface Pro 9 etc. but they all fall short in some important areas like performance, storage, os, price, stylus. Some devices are exorbitantly priced and some are heavy if you choose a higher specced variant. The X13 seems to be a capable all rounder but I'm not sure how its stylus performs and how optimised its apps are for tablet experience. I wanna know how it performs in apps like MS OneNote, Word, S Notes etc. but unfortunately no one seems to talk or make videos in this aspect.

At its price, only having a 3050 ti makes it a dealbreaker. The portability doesn't make up for the lack of performance at price point, especially when you consider how heavy it is.
the 3050ti is already a whole lot better than anything out there in this device category, especially when all of them are only using integrated gpu. Of course having a xx60 gpu would be the ultimate but I have not seen any attempt by any manufacturers at making a tablet form computer using any xx60 series gpu or above.
@@kenhew4641 Its a pretty insane premium to pay for a tablet form factor. Its the same price as a 3070 or even 3080 equipped laptop, but you can only run newer releases at 720p/30fps on lowest settings. That's like steam deck levels of performance for a $2k device.

I’m well! It was veryyyy minor. Thanks though!
It would be interesting to see a comparison between the zephyrus g14 and the flow x13.
Z13 has more battery and portability than both
Funny thing: X13 with same specs is waiting for unboxing after delivery roughly one hour before - thanks for the video, confirming my decision after many hours of research. Hopefully it will work for 4k video editing on the go. So I will unbox it later and do not send it back for a Z13 :) Maybe later a fat desktop for final editing if the planned project is gaining motion! Thanks again!
Hey, how's it going?
@@AedxnUp to now I used it only for FullHD projects and it works like charm. Exporting to WMV format is slow (2x movie time base) but sufficient. Using 4k stuff during editing works. All with an external Disk (T7) on the USB port with ~300 MByte/s.
Graphics delivers to a 4k external monitor.
1:40 The x13 has a USB A 3.2 gen 2 type C port (10 gigabits per second) whereas the z13 has a USB A 2.0 port because there wasn’t enough room internally for the cable to connect a USB 3.0 port or higher…
Don't forget the z13 run a thunderbolt port 40 gpbs ;) any thunderbolt dock is way better than USB c
@@MeltdownDJ thunderbolt does everything worse. The display output is bottlenecked over displayport, egpu enclosures make a desktop 3080 much slower than the xg mobile, latency is much worse, and read and write speeds on ssds are slowed
@@squishypeanut42 bruh still better than any usb who are 4 times slower ! ^^
@@MeltdownDJ it's not better than usb at anything other than doing multiple things at a time. Usb keyboards will always have less latency than a keyboard plugged into thunderbolt because it has to go through the more advanced system. I got the Z13 coming from a Surface Pro 4 ! I must say it's a great device not perfect but i just got BIOS 310 that should solve some problems ... Running games perfectly on 1080p with RTX3050Ti even recent ones...
What's the typing experience like? I have a SP8 and I really like the keyboard.
@@beckinbinderin Equivalent to the SP4 i owned (much better flat on table) ... Not bad but not as good as a full keyboard.
Can you mention the settings and fps for the games you ran?
They bumped up the price on the X13. Luckily, I was able to find an open box one for just under the old price. Its a very nice laptop. Feels great in the hand.
In my area you can get one for 1199
As a car guy, love the sample video when you were talking about the displays! Right on
He forgot the most important difference between the two. The x13 can be spec'd with 32GB if RAM, z13 is 16 max.
It makes sense i mean its kinda a tablet😂🤣
💯💯💯💯
LPDDR5 vs LPDDR4
Thanks for the excellent comparison!
You’re welcome!
Does it Run software like Zbrush, Maya and substance painter smoothly with stylus ? or do we get delay with sculpting strokes ?
also can you add extra GPU with it ?
In conclusion
If ur getting the xg mobile get the z13
If ur just buying the laptop get the x13
Don't forget Z13 has thunderbolt port
Z13 is so compelling but that significantly inferior battery life compared to X13 kind of ruined its most important aspect for being a portable device which logically relies on battery more often.
While Intel CPU is superior in terms of performance this time, I'd still consider AMD is the winner in high performance ultra portable device like this.
I wish there was a standard for the x8 egpu connector or an external enclosure you could put any gpu into that uses the x8 connector
I own 2021 x13. The AMD Chip gets hot very quickly. And battery life is not long as I expected, not gaming is around 3-4hrs with battery charging protection (85% charged).
For me laptop form factor is more flexible than tablet work horse. X13, so far, is still the best choice for me.
The 2022 version has way better battery life
yeah mine can do 9 hours
Thanks for these reviews. Picking up my m16 today.
Let me know how you like it. I have one coming in as well

I picked up a Flow X13 on a great deal at best buy. I didn't know it had a touch screen or that it folded back when I bought it, but I was amazed when I found out. How do you get 9 hours of usage? I can only get about 2-3 hours. Please reply. Edit: 2-3 hours surfing the web.
Check your power settings. You can play with the settings to get you comfortable with performance and to save battery.
you sure it's the 2022 model? Seems like you've got the 2021 with Ryzen 5000

Could the Z13 be used in a school environment to write on with a Pen? And how does that feel?
x13 is what I have! been using since last september daily for both 3d modeling and gaming! It has yet to disappoint!
how is the gaming performance with the Egpu? is able to run at 2k in ultra settings for recent games like cyberpunk?

@@andresdigi25 no itl run at 1080p on the gpu, I run Elden Ring at 1080 60fps too. Its not going to rival bigger, more expensive laptops, but its got really solid build quality, runs games at decent settings(you can play pretty much any indie game at 2k), and its extremely compact. I'm getting the Z13 when they launch, on the 16th.
just some advice from someone with the z13... dont expect it to last more than 2 years if it can even make it that long so consider that when you are about to buy it new at over 1k price point, go get a ipad or hp laptop instead those have not let me down.
The best review, congrats man !!!
Is the z13 or the x13 better for school work and a little bit of gaming?
waiting on my x13! thank you!
Already have the x13 and it is amazing 🤘🏻
I'm a student, so I really want that tablet feeling. But 90% of the comments say that the X13 is the better choice. Is there any other student here (or with similar concerns) that tried the Z13 for thoughts? Or decided to go for the X13 and thinks they made the better choice?
Kinda wonder why they didn't make the X13 look as cool 🤔
Which one better for video and photo editing for professional use?
As a filmmaker and graphic designer should I buy a Asus ROG Flow X13 13,4" or
Asus ROG Flow Z13 13,4" or Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 16?? 🤔🙈
I think only get Z13 if you are really depend on that thunderbolt port.
the final thoughts is what this video makes me smile well played
The components, for example the RAM, can be replaced relatively easily with a soldering station. So, it's possible to do some upgrades.
I hope you'll get your hands on the latest Asus Zenbook 14X OLED UX5401and review it. It's been months since it was introduced yet still no handson reviews and price 😔
Dell xps 13 2in1 vs Microsoft surface pro 9 vs Asus rog flow z13
Which one and why?
I got the M16 this year, got a bit (or rather) disappointed with the battery life, which literally sucks. Really looking foward to the X13 getting a RTX3060 or a RX6700S, if there's enough internal space in future models. I could really use some extra VRAM, since Forza Horizon is what I mainly play. Also I hope the screens can get a better response time.
I think the z13 is a bit too heavy for an everyday tablet, what is your opinion Matthew?
I'm with the same problem, did you buy a 2 in 1? I'm looking up for the best option.
@@paulamero9120 No, I have a Lenovo Legion 5. Any idea if the rog flow x13 6900hs is good for music production? I mainly use ableton/fl studio with vst such as omnisphere/keyscape/kontakt libary
Great review...love it...a lot of information in just a short video, answer most of my questions related to the different of these two.
