They don't sound quiet, but also we are behind them and they are facing out.(Also, the GoPro is known to balance audio levels) Just as you hear yourself differently because your ears are behind your mouth.
Quick question! I’m curious as to why you aren’t a little bit more fast paced. It seemed as if you were taking your time. Also, with a vehicle like that that’s obviously damaged to the point where it’s structurally unsound, how is it safe to tow on anything other than a flat bed? Other than that this is my first video I’ve seen of yours and I’m subbed. Definitely will be watching more.
I'm no heavy tow driver, but I imagine the vehicles they drive are massively heavier than the normal tow truck. Meaning they need a lot more space to maneuver safely. It's far better to arrive safely then to cause another wreck while en-route.
The faster you work the more likely you are to make huge mistakes. Yes the road needs to be reopened but the job needs to be done safely. No life is in danger so rushing is a bad idea.
He is moving at 70 for most of the time. For a wrecker and anything more than a full size SUV that's pretty fast. 70 is fast in anything but especially in that.
I had to wait for my guys to get there to completely clear the scene . Needed another truck to put all the debris into so wasnt in a super hurry to finish everything til we could do everything... As far as putting it in a flatbed as long as there is one good axle on the tractor we always tow it like that . Most flatbeds the max height you can put on them is 9'6 give or take .. you end up wasting more time trying to make everything fit.. on occasion they are destroyed to the point where you have to do that

@@krisstafford74 What do you do if the system is completely destroyed and it is impossible to unlock the brakes? Forced to put the tractor and trailer on a trailer?
@sirius8103 you can mechanically release them with cage bolts.. the parking brakes on a commercial unit have springs inside them that have 2k pounds of pressure... Enjoyed watching this. Question - are there no safety or personal concerns around whatever is in the trailer? I could see less of a concern if it were a trailer full of apples, but this looked like a liquid gas trailer - no? I have zero idea about this sort of thing, but I suppose I'd be worried about breaches in containment that might spark some sort of explosion, or that my hauling it around would cause whatever is in there, to leak out, and likewise contaminate or have some sort of reaction that could endanger the tow truck. Curious as to why that's not a concern. Subscribed!

As a tow op in Canada I love how people move for you. Also I checked your mirrors every time you made a lane change lol old habits die hard
@@katandrobweatherbee7008 thanks for watching
Do you ever get nervous standing around those tow cables at the rear controls? After being on towboats, I assume those wires are rated for much more than you see on the road but I can't help but feel nervous for you.
@@SeraphimDoesSomething as long as you know the capacities of your rigging and then you do the math on the resistance of what you're pulling on. I feel pretty comfortable standing there
This is cool to see not only another towing company on youtube posting videos but also one that is in my neck of the woods here in ohio and not far from me either this is really neat to see
Thank you for watching!! Where you located?
@krisstafford74 over in small town Defiance I frequent to toledo every once in awhile since it's only a 50 minute drive
@thesteelodin oh yeah we do business over there sometimes too. We have locations in Toledo Findlay Marion upper Sandusky and Bluffton
@krisstafford74 yea I looked into that definitely a bigger company than the ones I'm used to seeing around here only 2 local companies around here and only one has a couple heavy 30 tons but it's great seeing videos from a company not far from me
@thesteelodin I appreciate you watching. Thank you

Waay more work than i thought towing heavy trucks like these!Amazing video!
@@theswede836 thank you for watching!!!
how do i get into a trucking company like this, i always have wanted to work for a towing company
Most towing companies have a hard time finding people. It's difficult to find someone that can handle the schedule and have the skills... If you have a class A CDL it's fairly easy to get hired on
@ i appreciate this, i will be looking into getting a cdl a, my dads side of the family is a trucking family, im still pretty young ( 22) id love to start driving trucks
Plus you gotta take a cdl Driver test... I have heck time to past the test... Same with me I love to work this company also...
Long days short nights
And if you can't handle seeing dead people that died in the wreck then I don't recommend it my 1 st fatal was a guy that got folded up in between the seats while still sitting in the driver seat my 2nd was a guy showing off on a 2 lane back windy road and he lost control and hit 3 other vehicles before coming to a rest on his roof
I love the work you do quickly and fast Got it done and leaves

What air horns are those and why are they so quiet
They don't sound quiet, but also we are behind them and they are facing out.(Also, the GoPro is known to balance audio levels) Just as you hear yourself differently because your ears are behind your mouth.
They are pretty obnoxious.. they are the ones that came on it from the factory

It looked to me that he was working hard and moving along as fast as he could.
Most flatbeds the max height you can put on them is 9'6 give or take .. you end up wasting more time trying to make everything fit.. on occasion they are destroyed to the point where you have to do that
This was pretty fascinating, great vid!

Maybe I didn’t see the reason but does anyone know what was causing that huge traffic gap at 5:59 ?
trucks will do that to stop traffic from running up to a incident or lane closure and creating more chaos, thank you for watching
dude your a professional GET OFF YOUR PHONE WHILE DRIVING!
its not uncommon for first responders to be on there phones while driving to a scene. they need info and they need to pass info as it comes, and if theyre driving at the time then so be it
@@Hornet_Gaming If a driver needs information, they can do as everybody else does it, with a hands free set. That is federal law in a commercial vehicle. Full stop.
Clearly not as professional as he should be. I am not impressed! Test-driving, cutting across all lanes, condescending to co-workers (on phone), the list goes on....
Do y'all know police officers are on a whole laptop getting information while driving which requires way more attention than a phone So professional or not it don't matter unless you're doing something stupid

At 24:50 in, what were you doing when you hooked the air hose up?? Great video also!!
@@randalllewis2434 supplying air to the wrecked unit so the brakes will stay released and it will roll freely
When there is no air pressure the springs are applying the brakes so it can't roll anywhere .. you can put a cage bolt in them and compress the spring manually so it will roll
@@krisstafford74 Ok, I see ! Thank you for the explanation !
@@krisstafford74 I'm so happy that you answered their questions without prejudice. Alot of people don't know how air brakes work. I took schooling for truck mechanic. I know some things but things do change with modern times. Like computer brains. So I can't say that I know it all. Smirk
Just curious what’s the point in all the honking on the way? I’m not against it, the air horn sounds great, it’s a cool sound, just curious in the reasoning behind it

I operate a heavy in Arizona. I'm all for using the shoulder. My criticism about this video is, not enough horn. You are driving fast and not many are looking behind them unless you let them now your coming. When I use a shoulder for a DPS call, I hold the air horn the entire way...

Subscribed!
@@treozen4653 thanks for watching.. and no not really. These tanks are very stout and it takes a lot to breach anything.. appreciate the question
Thank you for watching. And no these tanks are pretty stout it's not often you see them breached in the accident.. always keeping an eye and ear out for leaks but most of the time it's pretty safe
@@krisstafford74 Thanks for the reply. I remember going on a ride along with my Uncle probably 30 years ago - he mentioned he'd never want to haul those trailers - so I guess I imagined they were more dangerous than they are.
Was that a dead deer that they just ran over on the shoulder or was that a person??😮

6:00 why the huge gap in traffic?
@@bmunson76 It's pretty common when traffic backs up like that and there's a lane closure of some sort that trucks will get side-by-side to block a bunch of cars from running up there and causing more chaos like when you have a lane closed and everybody waits till the last minute to try to merge over and it creates more of a mess.. that would be my guess as to what's happening there.
