No way I worked both at Audi and Benz… love both! But the GLC driving is sooo much better than the SQ5. Also the SQ5 would constantly show up at the dealership with something broken on the interior. Mercedes wins this one

Bought a SQ5 without the air suspension, it is rock hard! Unacceptable ride comfort. Sport seats are rock hard too.
SQ5 and every other car with fake plastic exhaust outlets loses, regardless of anything else. Absolutely unforgiveable.
You sure you had it on Sports or Sport+ mode during that drag race and not in Comfort/Eco mode???
Nothing in this review actually made sense. I found the handling in the AMG 43 much better and way firmer for suspension, new versions auto level in hard cornering and comes with air suspension as standard. The SQ5 is a lovely car but it doesn’t have the edge of the AMG.
I have a new sq5 and I must say the thing is surprising fast. I owned a rs5 cab and I really think the sq5 feels quicker up to 60 mph.
What do you do for a living?
I think like you it feels so fast... I would say 4.8 Seconds or something anyways fastet than Audi says.

100% even down to the poorly filmed and inconsistent 'drag race' at the end.
I had the sq5 for 6 years and wanted to upgrade to new model, ended up with glc43. I still have my heart on the sq5 and miss that beast. You feel like you own the road with the sq5

Have to say the GLC43 is a much better looking car.
It didn’t make sense to us either, if we’re honest!
I saw another drag race between these 2 cars and the GLC won one and the SQ5 another so probably down to the driver.

More driver error off the start in the merc
As much as I love my SQ5, I raced the GLC43 3 times at the track. I won all 3 times, both stock, but it was 1/8th mile. I finally drove a long way to a 1/4 mile track and another glc43 beat me 2 of 3 times, only time it lost was after heat soak, the glc43 will heat soak faster than the SQ5, in the 1/8 mile SQ5 wins, in the 1/4 mile, that extra horsepower GLC43 will win all the time unless heat soaked in long drive. Great video

I still find it odd that Mercedes leaves that screen just stuck on the dashboard like that. And those bezels look hilariously out of date already.
This movie comes across as a biased opinion. Also the GLC in the sound video is not in sport+ mode. It looks like its in comfort mode and then the exhaust is silent.
Wtf?? I raced the glc43 vs the exact same audi sq5 and the Mercedes glc43 beat the audi by 2-3 cars. And I also drove the audi sq5 vs the glc43 and it was the same result. The Mercedes glc43 amg is faster than the audi in the real world. I guarantee that 100%. I'll pick the Mercedes glc43 any day. It looks better and it's faster than the audi. In my eyes the Mercedes WINS all day everyday

James wasn't born then. So chances are, no.
GLC43 is faster to 62mph and quarter mile and yet lost to Audi here. You guys are jokers. I have the same sq5 and I know it’s slower than the Mercedes. Check out motor grid Brazil Audi vs Mercedes and see the real race and comparisons by men and not Momas boys here.

Delisio Ameide Anem Mercedes is better overall in terms of reliability, athleticism and faster as well. Audi doesn’t beat it from those 3 areas. Air suspension and no fake exhaust. How is Audi better? Explain. My wife bought the Audi due to her friend driving Audi’s which isn’t a smart way of buying a car. We’ve had problems with check engine light and car stalls. Mercedes first BMW, and Audi-quality and reliability.
Jon Doe mate there are more factors to a race then just figures. Climate, altitude, type of fuel(how full the tank is) just to name a few. Both these cars are so close on paper means that any of the above could be a deciding factor to n any particular day. Who cares anyway. They are both beautiful cars.
Good review Parker’s. The Audi is clearly superior. I drove both and bought the SQ5. Unless you are just blindly a Mercedes fan boy it’s no contest. But let’s face it both are very nice and someone lucky enough to have either should be smiling.
Before you post a review, try and be neural before you start. Obviously a Audi fan. The CLK is quicker by far and looks nicer. I have driven GLC 43 and there are no interior rattles or creeks and found the build quality excellent, though I did like the look of the Audi seat. - IMHI.

BUY The GLC. Its comes with free CRABBING feature on RHD models. Google GLC crabbing and you will know why.
@Peter Lord watch in youtube "GLC crabbing and see if yours is as bad as the GLC, where everytime they turn the wheel it crabs.
High end sports cars do this all the time (Porsche for instance- google it). This is not unique to MB nor the GLC. Move on wanker.

The Audi looks dull.....
that's why it will look better 10 years from now. The AMG looks like an egg, and does everything worse. The Q5 is classy and muscular.
The Audi looks dull because it is. Those that enjoy driving will always opt for the more raw AMG. Those that want to bring it to the mall to grab a latte will opt for the soft Audi with fake exhausts.

I would choose the SQ5 first, then BMW m40i, the comparable Mercedes last. Honestly the BMW is the real competitor if you ask me. If you want a REAL performance SUV though, look at the Alfa Romeo Quadrifolio version of their Stelvio SUV, its insane performance if you can stomach Alfa Romeo reliability.

These are hardly SUV if you ask me. Just a hatchback that sits a little higher. And the larger “SUV” out there like the Q7 or the X5 look more like an estate to me. Not sure how these vehicles are “for the lazy” though. What does that mean. If you want something with a bit more space and a hatch back for carrying more stuff, it’s more practical than a saloon. Just depends on what you need it for. I would say the lazy choice is a limo where someone else drives you...lol
