It’s time for a performance SUV drag race!
Mat’s lining up in the AMG GLC 63 S, and alongside him we’ve got a BMW X3M, an Alfa Romeo Stelvio Quadrifoglio, and a Jaguar F-Pace SVR!
So let’s see how their stats compare… Starting with the AMG, it’s powered by a 4-litre twin-turbo V8 which can deliver 510hp and 700Nm. As for the x3m, It’s powered by a 3-litre twin-turbo straight-six, which also puts down 510hp, although it’s slightly down on torque, at 650Nm.
We then have the Alfa, which houses a 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 which puts out 510hp & 600Nm. And then finally we have the F-Pace SVR, which rolls up with a 5-litre supercharged V8 that puts down 550hp & 700Nm!
So the Jaguar’s got the most power, but does that mean it’ll be first over the line? There’s only one way to find out… LET’S RACE!

To jump the start every time. It's become a carwow tradition at this point.
The new SVR DOES have launch control - the operator’s manual even describes how to engage it (and yes, it’s different from the low traction launch system for bad weather conditions). It shaves about 0.5 seconds off the 0-60 so it seems like it could have won if dynamic launch control was used :). My 2021 SVR is night and day from my 2020 with launch control to 60 and the 1/4 mile.

That Jag is surprisingly fast. I was cruising at 100mph, on the autobahn obviously 😅, and one of them sailed by me no effort and when I went to keep up I slowly would have been dropped if we hadn't come to a traffic light.
The F-Pace dominates when it comes to high speed. The 5.0 V8 just forces itself through all the air resistance

That's exactly what I was thinking! Alfa has smallest engine, no launch control and it's the oldest engine in this drag race.
@@ninoloso The answer is simple..Torque. All the other cars had at least 50nm more torque. The reality is that the Alfa Stelvio did pretty damn well considering its the "oldest" car on test, has the least power and has the lowest price.
Consider this.The next cheapest car is the Jaguar at £2,665 more than the Stelvio. You could buy a Stelvio take it to an Alfa tuner and a simple chip tune costing £500-700 will see it go up to 604bhp and putting out 780nm of torque on stage 1 remap making it the most powerful car in that drag race. You would then have a car faster than most of those it was competing against i suspect and it would STILL be the cheapest car there.
Its by no means a perfect car and in terms of interior "Quality " it falls behind its rivals but then i actually like the simplicity of its interior its just that some of the materials could be better made.

When weight and power specs are similar Benz usually wins. However they are often heavier but have better build quality and more luxurious.

For me the Jaguar F-Pace SVR is the winner here, it looks handsome, best roar, priced appropriately and fast (who cares if it lost by 0.1 or 0.2 sec), it is still blazing fast. They didn't show the interior but I hear the latest updates made big changes inside with Pivi Pro software, tech, and leather. As per reliability goes I believe JLR boss Thierry Bolloré vowed to improve company's negative reputation for build quality, should be a positive for all those people to check out the Jaguar brand again.
I wouldn't vote for it. It's a V8 @ 5.0L Supercharger vs flat 6 cylinders @2.9L forgetting the AMG 🙆🙆
