Limited for me….not a fan of the two tone….I think it has a market and it will do well. But I would like the option to not have the glass roof but the power of Platinum. But I have to agree it’s a nice looks care.

I like the platinum but I’ll pass on the bi-tone paint. Giving the car a hood prop and manual steering adjust column is kind of cheap. Maybe Toyota figures that the car is so reliable that I’ll never lift the hood. I wish the interior would intrude in Lexus territory a bit more because it looks a bit too minimalist. I might consider this car if Toyota makes enough of them so I don’t have to wait 9 months to get it and if the dealers don’t add a ridiculous market adjustment.

You can find dealers that aren't doing the market adjustment BS. Car sales are slowing now, not because people don't want cars, but because they've had enough.

I was considering buying one. After review, decided not to buy any of them. The Platinum, top of the line, overpriced and don't even have auto open/close trunk and manual adjustable steering. The other two, overpriced and underperformed to be a Real Crown. The Real Crown, the real Sedan, remains in Japan, not in the US.
when it will hit the market ??? all Toyota dealerships in NJ already trying to RIP OFF on Hybrid and EV from $5000 to $20K, I was fan of toyota since my first corolla 2003, 2012 and camry Hybrid 2012, RAV Hybrid 2021 - And now I went with VW ID4 because all toytoa dealerships in NJ trying to rip off and I hate it, might be end of Toyota era, because ID4 is way way way better than my Rav Hybrid 2021 .
If anyone is thinking of buying a crown. The limited is a way better bang for your buck. The limited gets almost double the gas mileage and is about $5k cheaper. Trust me, you wont regret. I really wanted the bronze bi-tone buts just not worth it at the end of the day.

I do hate this new era of the bi tone body and giant grills with a passion... Why are car manufactures doing this? Look at the new Prius. Its a resounding success and I think a big reason of that is because it DOESN'T have a giant grill or angular, 2 tone body. Its clean and smooth and simple. I really want a new Crown because im at that point in my life where I want something nice and still efficient and reliable. But god damn the US got the ugliest one and the new Prius is so nice and efficient it makes me want to just save the money and get the Prius and live with a slightly smaller car.
Problem with lots of glossy black is it looks great for the first 30 minutes after you take it through the car wash and then it looks like you need to take it through the car wash again. I've owned 3 Camrys in a row, put 400,000 miles on them, only thing I don't like is I do outdoor stuff on weekends and would like a bit more ground clearance, Venza makes so much more sense for me. Maybe they will come out with a version of the Crown that sits a bit higher. But of the Crowns I like the Limited in white, it's a good color for Florida. Though moonroof not of much use for most of the year.
for all of you thinking that 21 inch wheels are cool. Let me give you a little reality. Check: those short wheels make potholes a lot more noticeable. Significantly more whereas taller wheels absorb much better.

@@toronado455 you're right. Now I'm looking at the base model. Cloth seats look good forever and 38mpg > 28mpg. I wonder if I could pop out the 6 crappy speakers and put in some expensive Focal speakers or something similar
Cheap interior finishes, good but not groundbreaking mechanicals and platform. Overall, nothing compelling here but Toyota build quality and presumed dependability make it a option but not necessarily the best option.
I like the gloss, hybrid max. I don’t like the two tone color look. If I am going to spend that kind of money on a vehicle, I’d like the front and rear parking sensors. 21 inch wheels are nice.
I know everyone does not like leather but softex seats w/ memory should come standard on the XLE. At least offer the option to upgrade to the softex package like on the Venza XLE. And the flagship sedan gets a pop rod?? Come on Toyota 😂😂 Thanks for this review Jeff!! Great job
Your review is great and thank you for it!!! I'd prefer the Limited but admire the Platinum's drive mode choices and the full time AWD. I love the panoramic view choice but can't remember if it was optional on the Limited or Platinum or both. The only thing I'm left wondering about is the overall interior size in reference to legroom, headroom, etc. I wouldn't personally be interested in the bi tone but would probably like it on someone else's Crown.
I remember seeing the original Crowns when living in NZ. The tail lights always looked cool. These new ones are nice looing at profile not sure about big feux grill. XLE to me has all the options most would like, so for me XLE is my choice.
Take Note Toyota: two tone colors look junky. Stop. Especially those CHRs you see on the road where its red on top with a different base color. Looks like they went to the junkyard and all they could find was a red donor car. LOL! Just stop.

I want more ground clearance as an option from 6.5 to 7.5 inches.

The Platinum's wheels are too damn big. I'd want to downsize to 19" to reduce weight, improve ride quality, range and 0 to 60.

All three are great. I like a soft ride and I don’t need all the power the Platinum has. Maybe go with the Limited.
I like the Limited best but not a fan of that front grill.
I'd like if they came "bi" on a limited. Love super sonic w/black trim, that's what's on my 2019 prius!

RAV4 take a beating and has more room. 125mph top speed in the base model.

Gray and black two-tone Platinum for me, it's the best looking and really fast with great fuel economy, we love ours.
I'll have to wait until the hood struts and heads up display are included.

I would pick the XLE - I'm impressed they still offer cloth seats! Also no need for a fixed glass roof.

Not feeling all the gloss black! gives it a cheap look. Much rather it be just painted part of the body or a different material.
I would love the limited one, most of things are better to better in the middle.
I’d be good with the XLE if it had parking sensors…but they want you to buy up for safety.

Wait what?! 0w-8 oil?! I have enough trouble getting 0w-16 oil so getting 0w-8 oil is gonna be... interesting.
So it turns out you can get the Platinum without the two-tone. Good to know cuz I find it as silly as it is on the BZ4X.
Because of that "two tone" thing, the only color that doesn't look stupid is Black.
