2023 Toyota Crown Review | Is This Sedan King Of The Hill?
Вставка
- Опубліковано 15 вер 2024
- Toyota's new Crown isn't a crossover, or a crossover sedan. It is however a comfortable sedan with an upright driver's seat, big LCDs and a standard AWD hybrid system. Will Toyota's play in the "full-size sedan" segment be a success? Let's unpack it a bit before you all decide.
How big is the Crown? Not as big as you might think. It's about the same size as the Camry and Avalon in terms of length and width. The major difference is in the roofline which is around 4-inches higher and the front seat position which is also about 4 inches higher. The result isn't more headroom but a more upright seating position. Ground clearance? Just 2/10ths over the Camry so rumors of it being a "crossover sedan" aren't accurate, despite the body cladding.
Under the hood you get either the 236 HP AWD hybrid system from the Highlander, capable of 40ish MPG if you treat it gently, or the new 2.4L turbo hybrid from the Lexus RX good for 340 HP. Neither system will make the Crown a rocketship, it's not a GR afterall, but both seem well suited to Toyota's flagship sedan.
The back seat is generous and comfortable, the trunk is smaller than the Camry's by a hair. Sadly the hatchback versions of the Crown remain forbidden fruit.
How does it drive? Pretty well. It's quiet, comfortable, and fuel efficient. The AWD system allows the regular hybrid to feel more sure footed than the hybrid Camry and peppier than the AWD Camry while the 2.4L turbo is a different animal. The large amount of torque on the front means a hair of torque steer and wheel spin at launch, but the rear motor allows the vehicle to feel more nimble than the curb weight would indicate and the entire package is reminiscent of Volvo's PHEV systems, albeit with less power on the back. What do you think? Is the Crown on your list

21 inch wheels stock sounds crazy. I remember when some aftermarket brands didn't have rims that big.
18 inches used to be an upgrade
Bigger on the outside than a Camry, but basically no additional room inside. I don't see the point. I'd just get a Camry Hybrid instead.
Alex, I'm with you on the two-tone paint. I'm not a fan.
it is bigger on the inside same way the Avalon was to the Camry.
@@WaheedKhan-mm3pw but the Avalon has better space packaging. And the trunk in the Avalon is bigger
It's for old people with hip problems who can't tolerate the low seating position of a sedan. Never mind that there are a gazillion crossovers out there designed just for them. Toyota's being stupid.
@braetonwilson4296
Thus the Toyota Venza was perfect. They stopped making those vehicles thst produced 30k cars a year but kept the triple digit Hydrogen Mirai in production.
What are they thinking?
That two-tone paint scheme just makes me think "salvage title that hasn't been painted yet."
Reminds me of a Friday car. Workers were in a rush to leave Friday and three parts together thst they could find.
I test drove the base. Rides nice. Looks impressive in Black. This is excellent for long commute or rode trip.
That jab at Brian was amusing lol
That was nice left jab! Let’s see if he can do a combo.
Unfair, Brian has no option to retaliate, 😔
7:10 - There goes my interest for this vehicle (I'm 6'5" and I don't have a problem fitting in my 20 camry se upgrade). Thanks for the heads-up, Alex.
Oh man, I was so in on this car until then (I’m 6’4)
2023 Toyota Crown Platinum costs 53-54k. Add dealer markup, dealer fees, taxes etc. and the out the door price could easily be 70 thousand dollars! I would much rather buy a Lexus for that kind of money! Toyota has lost their mind!
I agree 100% another Toyota that doesn't fit any significant demographic in the current economic situation...
Insane pricing! I’d do a tesla at that price maybe but all too high. 40k max reasonable price for me
Where did you get this pricing information from?
That’s exactly what I say for that money I buy easy a Lexus suv Toyota is like 🥳
The lower trims aren't bad, but for the price of the lower trims I would have to see this side by side with the 2023 Venza. For 2023, the Venza Limited is getting upgrades that should put it on par with the Crown with the advantage of it being an actual CUV. Of course, this is all moot if Toyota can't build enough of these and they are going to be marked up to death of which I refuse to pay.
Thanks, Yes they should bring the Estate(wagon) version here and the sedan should be a liftback/5-door. It makes no sense to me to continue to have fastback/sport back sedans with tiny trunk openings instead of liftback/hatchback designs which are more practical and useful. My old 07 Mazda 6i 5-door was very sporty and useful.
The Crown Estate also makes much more sense in the US market as Toyota doesn't really have a legitimate midsize two-row crossover. This Crown cross-sedan is a head-scratcher. Would have been ok if they just phased out the Avalon without a replacement.
Yes, it will be amazing as a shooting brake wagon.
I have a Lexus IS300 sportcross. Best of both world, lots of useability and good power output. Wagons should be pushed more by the makers. They are rather rare on the US market and would be a niche product there. In Europe, it will sell well too.
But honestly, the sedan that is more "sedany", that was presented by Toyota is more beautiful.
Alex, you absolutely produce the best auto reviews.
Simp
If you want/need a chunky AWD sedan, I suggest checking out Subaru's Legacy. Huge trunk, more robust AWD and BETTER gas mileage (despite not being a hybrid) at 35mpg on the highway. Not sure why it's never included in these kinds of comparisons.
The normal Hybrid crown gets like 40mpg combined, the Hybrid Max is more powerful and (therefore) less efficient.
It reminds me of those days I would see someone driving a crappy car and they needed to replace the bumper or the hood or the trunk and it’s a different color because they got pieces from a junkyard.
Was very interested in buying a crown in a couple of years. After this review not so much.
After seeing Alex‘s good review, I think I’d go for the loaded Camry hybrid if I wanted to save money. On the other hand, if I wanted to spend the same amount of money I’d have to spend for this Crown, I would just go for the ES hybrid.
I’d go Camry v6 XSE without hesitation
The Camry is the benchmark for me
I agree 100%with you Berlin.
I wish Toyota made the V6 Camry with AWD or at least limited slip diff as an option. Otherwise, I prefer the ES or Camry than this jelly mold!
Why get a loaded one when you can get a base model for less?
@@clashwithneo True, there’s that. It’s not most important, but I like ventilated seats if I can get them.
I agree that the 2 tone is a no-go...for me. Overall, I think Toyota missed the boat on this vehicle. I agree with other comments regarding Camry Hybrid being the way to go. The new design should be in 2024 model. I will wait.
If I am hearing this correctly the Crown is taller then the Camry, but with internal less space and it is a full hybrid with the MPGs of an ICE sedan from five years ago
This vehicle didn't have to exist 🙃
The gas mileage isn't bad. Not many conventional ICE cars of this size were getting 30 mpg combined. Anyone wanting real efficiency should get the base hybrid with its 40 mpg. Seven seconds 0-60 is quite adequate for normal driving.
This is for people who want a Toyota but don’t want to say they drive a Camry. No reason to make this. Will sell initially to the Toyota loyalists, then languish on the lot or be heavily discounted. My larger crossover gets 32 mpg hwy and 0-60 in 5.9 seconds. I don’t see the point of the more powerful hybrid as the geriatrics that buy this will not care.
Yep, it's garbage.
@@mark_u Exactly!!!!
Great review..thanks! Got the call from my local Toyota dealer Tuesday. They’ve been allocated one Limited w Technology Package that will arrive in 3 weeks! Said it’s mine if I want it….I want it! 66 year old w bad knees that have always had Avalons. Think (hope) this will be a perfect fit, and it might be the last car I’ll ever have to buy..if that didn’t sound too morbid!😂
You will love it.
I agree with Brian. Soooo sharp!!! 62 year old grandma is looking into owning one in the red and black soon.
Wow 52K for a Toyota sedan, this will be the first and last model year for the crown!!!
Agreed. Rip crown before it even hits dealerships
It’s popular in Japan so it will still exist… just not in the U.S.
This is the 16th gen for Japan. All models are popular and have had awesome things done with them.
I don't get it. The Avalon was positioned nicely between a Camry and a Lexus. I really don't see why anyone would buy this instead of either a Camry or a Lexus. Perhaps Toyota wants to take some sales from mid-size American models? But those buyer's still aren't wanting a Toyota.
Bigger car, smaller trunk, no more ground clearance, less headroom. Why? Another swing and a miss from Toyota..
Glad you’re disappointed. You just helped justify my original comment
It actually has a good amount more ground clearance than an Avalon.
I like the Venza. Trunked CUV doesn't cut it.
The immediate perspective had me wondering if this car was really huge or if Alex was practicing his method acting for "honey I shrunk the youtuber".
Interior is very underwhelming. Exterior has bold design and colors but does not match the personality of what the car is meant to be at all. It’s a big heavy body but not at all any more useful than any other sedan. Plus it’s expensive. So many other better options in the market over this in my opinion.
This is not a full size sedan. Toyota marketing can call it one, but it isn’t.
You hear that Toyota? We’re not stupid. We can see right through your absolutely pathetic marketing 😂. You’re not fooling anyone but yourself
In future videos, can you include headroom and shoulder space comparisons? Similar to the dimension comparison of the back seat.
Why even make this? If they got rid of the Avalon due to people moving away from sedans; why bring in a more costly, sedan that’s smaller than the Avalon.
Because they had it in Japan and it was easy to bring it to America.
The Crown should be a large RWD sedan. As someone else already mentioned, this vehicle is a Clown and not a Crown.
The crown is more Toyota CourtJester.
Seeing the combined horsepower numbers got me excited thinking this might be a nice replacement sport sedan for me to like over the stinger or the charger, but there's just too many design decisions that turn me off, mainly their lack of headroom, lack of trunk space and the very oddly designed foot wells. The wheel size is a bit of a turn off also, but not a deal breaker.
You're more forgiving than me because the design is atrocious, IMHO.
My biggest problem with the styling is that, from some angels, it looks like a lifted Corolla- particularly from the front.
all that power for 5.7s 0-60?
I don't even want this car, I just wanna hear Alex review it lmao.
So the additional ground clearance is just to lift the seats off the ground a little more but doesn’t give SUV chair-like seating? Maybe the lift is also intended to make the car look more imposing like a Challenger/Charger. My wife’s two second reaction was that it looked too racy, especially in the two tone and she turned her nose up at it. The two tone paint wasn’t my cup of tea until she said that so now I’m reconsidering it.😂
Absoutley the BEST automotive reviewer on YTube, and I listen to many!! You impart mechanical, aesthetics, comparative, economic & performance perameters to make well informed decisions, thank you Alex!
Toyota has a history of showing they don't understand what it's like to be tall. Look how many of their vehicles lack height adjustment on the passenger seat.
Toyota New Jockey Architecture strikes again.
@@rightlanehog3151 the Camry seems to be the least affected by the TNGA platform
Because the 2017 Camry had 38.9 inches of rear legroom. And 38 inches of rear headroom. As for the trunk, it had 15.4 cubic feet of space
The 2018 Camry has 38 inches of rear legroom and the same 38 inches of rear headroom. As for the trunk, 15.1 cubic feet space.
Also not every vehicle. The Camry Avalon RAV4 now highlander and venza offer height adjustment to the passenger seat
@@naveenthemachineNot in the 2021 Venza. I always hit my head getting in.
I got a 2024 Crown. Everyone who sees it loves it.
Same here, these idiots that don't are just haters and jealous.
The two tone is the best looking to me, we got the gray and black Platinum, we absolutely love it.
A 50.000 dollar car with a PROP ROD? MY 29.000 dollar KIA K5 GT LINE has hood struts ! No Hud...a panoramic sunroof that doesn't open on the cheaper version, its still 43 grand....come on Toyota that's ridiculous. My panoramic sunroof opens!
The money went in quality and powertrain. Toyota has never had the best “2 year value,” they have the best “20 year value.”
The car care nut reviewed the sedan and the new signia. He says, at least for the Signia, it is one of the best Toyotas he has seen in terms of quality.
Can’t believe they got rid of the Avalon for this sheet
I just saw one on the road. It looks worse in person.
Because this car smokes it in every way, it's a beauty.
Alex: to answer your ? about the two-tone styling: Cool as hell!
I see you get it too.
I like the Bi Tone color, something new. The performance model is the bomb
Turns out the Platinum trim level IS available without the hideous 2-tone paint.
I miss my Cressida…..Thank you Alex for a great review as always.🎃
I loved my Cressida too.
Ditto on the Cressida. We loved ours, EXCEPT for the automatic seat belts. One could not even ascertain the engine was running at idle. Definitely not so for current vehicles.
All this "new" Crown accomplishes is to push me even more into the CUV / SUV market !
Sad to hear the Avalon is gone.
Why not get a Camry or the remaining Avalon’s ?
2022 Avalon? Any new ones around?
@@naveenthemachine Recent Avalon's are really hard to find here in Quebec, but yes that would be a great solution.
Because nobody buys Avalon
I do not understand what they were thinking.
No head room, ugly paint job - - - this thing is obsolete before it goes on sale - -LOL
See my original comment.
Fun fact: Corona, Cressida Camry and Corona are all types of crowns.
Both the Corona and the Corona? 😉
I think you mean Corolla, and it's not really a crown. As for Camry, the Japanese word for a type of crown is quite different.
It’s an odd car. Half sedan, half SUV. It’s kind of a niche product that I don’t will sell that well. Sort of a new version of the Honda Accord Crosstour.
Perfect assessment.
Might add the Cross tour is more practical.
so what is the point of buying full size sedan that is bigger on the outside but similar or smaller to size to a midsize sedan on the inside.
I’m eager to see how this sells. The color scheme is absolutely hideous to me, but I’m sure they’ll have more mundane choices available as well. I do like the interior and the slightly raised searing height.
Wait list at are long It will not be mass produced like Camry either
What was toyota thinking when they made this car. It will never sell its hideous.
Car is a solution looking for a problem. Toyota dropped the ball on this one.
Well, Toyota buggered up the Prius with its wierdo design, then the Avalon, and now this. I think their designers must be on some illegal drugs. Reminds me of what Euro Ford did to the Scorpio. Good report from Alex, he is one of the best on UA-cam IMHO.
Make it a hatchback / wagon and you'd have something competitive. For the price - not sure this works otherwise?
I'd rather have a fully loaded Camry over this.
Me too. With the v6 in XSE w red interior and a proper execution of a two tone roof
Most agree with you. Even my wife like the new Camry.
The Camry doesn't even come close to the Crown.
I assumed the Avalon was going to just end and nothing was going to replace it. The Crown just isn't a good value for a lot of people - the Lexus ES hybrid just seems like the better choice for branding, luxury, and the same drivetrain as the base Crown for similar money. The SUV/crossover variant would have been a much better fit for the US market, but I'm sure I'll see a handful of these around (just like I see a few Avalons here and there) for those that want a sedan instead. Also, the 2 tone paint is just hideous - I'm sure someone will like it, but not me.
I’d rather get a Camry hybrid XLE or XSE. Similar space but better mpg and it’s faster and more luxurious than the crown and has more tech
@@naveenthemachine Couldn't agree more. The Crown just doesn't make a lot of sense in the US when we have very similar (and better in many ways) options to choose from, like the Camry hybrids you mentioned, the Lexus ES hybrid if you want a bit more luxury, etc. Heck, for near $60k, that's luxury car territory.
The Crown is a name that means something in Japan. I suspect they'll be happy with some US sales, but we are just a secondary market for it.
Why would Toyota change the Landcruiser SUV into a Lexus and bring the Crown sedan, competing with the Camry - instead of just making it a Lexus instead?
Alex deserves over 1mil subs!!!!!
I do not like the two-color scheme. 21-inch tires will have very narrow sidewalls. Which means more tire problems and suspension damage.
Alex, You are certainly not 'silly', the sleek yet practical Estate model at 0:34 is far and away the crowning achievement of Toyota's new flagship line.🤩 It is not too late to bring it over to give the Outback some overdue competition. Let's hope the Clown®Toyota is trying to force-feed us does not sink the future prospects of this newly relaunched nameplate across North America. To be balanced, I will give them credit for the seat height being raised to a comfortable level and the mpg of the base, AWD Hybrid is impressive. The option for 340 hp on Regular gas in a Toyota sedan is quite a jolt. As is seemingly the case with every TNGA model, the lack of front 7:13 and rear 7:41 headroom seriously UNDERMINES measurable progress in so many other areas. Nearly 20 years after its introduction, the lemming-like mimicking 😵of the sloping CLS roof line 2:57 continues to blight sedan practicality.
“I’ll give them credit for the seat height being raised to a comfortable level”
High praise 😂
@@garrettw99 If only they had raised the headliner height with it. BTW I also credit them for the mpg on the base model.
I love the two tone
Spending time talking what design you would have ordered doesn't make the review any more valuable or professional. First of all, it's completely subjective, and more than that, it does not affect anything at all.
I don't like the two tone color option, or the sloping roof with no hatch. The wheels also don't look in proportion with the body IMO. I own two Toyota products, but this one simply doesn't tick any boxes for me, sorry.
Don't be sorry. It is the Toyota USA/Canada executives who chose this version of the Crown who need to apologize 😁
I don't think anyone buying one of these is buying it for the exhaust note. I quite like it but not in a two tone. Agree would have preferred a hatch. Great review Alex 👍
Brian isn't blind Alex, he probably just likes "modern art".
The car is basically a more expensive Camry, with no more interior room, no more truck space, is higher off the ground without providing much more ground clearance, and pretty much worse than an Avalon in every way besides tech, which in a Toyota just means you get judged by the car and it beeps at you when it's not happy with what it sees. I was initially excited about getting a crown in the US, but now that it's just turned out to be a half baked CUV with none of the advantages and half the disadvantages, it's off the list.
The crown has less tech than the Avalon and Camry. No opening sunroof no hud no 4 way lumbar
I HATE that beeping. Every Toyota rental we've had has been so annoying.
12k price premium over the Camry hybrid just for a slightly taller car and AWD. Yeesh. Wish Toyota brought the wagon version cause it would differentiate itself from the Camry.
Personally I love the two tone paint, but it was a big miss not offering the liftback/hatchback to increase the practicality with no impact to the looks. I'm still kind of confused why people buy these raised sedan/CUV things when you could get a proper 2 box design and gain a ton of useful space. Or on the flip side just get a regular sedan that will drive a whole lot better.
It's beautiful in the gray and black.
55K and no usable sunroof? Crazy.
Man, I wanted to get this but Toyota screwed the pooch for us taller drivers it seems.
Why make a full size car that isn't really any bigger and is actually smaller in some dimensions than the smaller Camry. It's like they don't want to sell any of these
It’s because Toyotas just stupid 😂. They have the worst marketing in the automotive industry
Not going to lie. The lack of driver headroom might be a problem for me. I’m only 6’1” and my hair brushes the ceiling in many Lexus products.
Um, less headroom than a Camry? No, thank you.
I mean whats the point of this over Lexus ES? Top level Crown is going to be not that far off in price.
This really should have been a lift back. Overall a very strange vehicle that no one asked for. Probably will be a flop
the "anything but another crossover" people were screaming for it.
Really wish it didn’t have that Toyota logo on it. This is quite literally the exact same price range as an ES
But the crown has better tech
looks like a O'Reily's aftermarket bumper
reminds of when people wreck there cars and get different color bumper from a junk yard
Like you said early on... wish they had brought the SUV version! Thumbs up to the powertrain options (I'd go for the turbo, natch.) Was slightly interested in the bigger-sedan idea ... I've been an SUV fan for a while, and I think I'm gonna stay that way. With the same interior room as a Camry... not really interested. And that moonroof! Yuck. Thanks for the great (as usual) review.
Yup you are right Alex. Brian is completely blind 😉💯
This is a non-starter for me. Giant wheels, no liftback, no 4-way lumbar (Venza does), ridiculous (poor) rear headroom. And I'm less than half way through the video ;-) Bring the Estate (or whatever the wagon is called) and I'll buy one. Immediately. Ok, I'm 2/3rds of the way through. How did they manage to make this so heavy (4,300 lbs??) And no torque converter? I hope the wet clutch thingy is more reliable than the Kia transmission. And wait - the interior space is only about the same as the Camry? So it's smaller than the Avalon that it's supposedly replacing? Also, a hard no on the two-tone paint job. Bring the Estate here immediately and give Subaru some competition (though not the price.)
I’d pick a Camry XSE v6 any day.
It’s a lot more attractive outside and inside, the v6 is wicked smooth and it has more features like a hud and a proper pano roof
@@naveenthemachine - On this, we agree 100%.
I still prefer liftback vehicles though, which is why I may (emphasis on *may*) wait it out for a Crown wagon/hatchback.
@@jsfbay1 yeah for liftbacks I’d go Kia stinger
@@naveenthemachine I've been wanting one of those for a few years (frankly since they first came out) but just never got around to buying one. A lot of that was/is pressure from my wife to get something with more cargo capacity, hence why I'm watching every CUV video (as well as all content from certain channels) I can find.
@@japanwatchconnection Oh for cryin' out loud - really??? That's yet another no-go for me.
That grill is polarizing and I’m a loyal Toyota/Lexus fan. The two paint job doesn’t work for me. Currently driving a GS and will stick with the ES unless Camry possibly comes up with something special with the next redesign..
I suggest you keep that GS as long as you can. Unless they bring over the good looking Crown sedan, there is no indication Lexus or Toyota will offer a design to match your GS any time soon.
@@rightlanehog3151 Thanks for the feedback. It is as smooth as silk. Happy New Year.
340 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque and only 5.7 to 60 for the performance version? I know she's a bit heavy, but c'mon. I hope that is really conservative. That isn't much quicker than a V6 Camry and the mpg gains are pretty small for all that pricey tech.
Exactly. I wouldn’t trade my Camry v6 for this joke
@@naveenthemachine Can see somebody dropping like $55k on one of these and then get smoked by a Honda Accord. Doh!
I can’t figure out why you’d get this over a Camry or Rav4
Or Venza. Or Highlander. Or even a Lexus ES, which will be competitive in price and roomier.
They should have brought the normal sadan one. This one won't work
Agreed
@japanwatchconnection The Eagle was a far more compelling package than the Clown .
All Toyota and Lexus products have skinny tires. 225 in this 235 in the Highlander and Lexus RX, even the Performance models. They definitely aren’t actually about performance, just looks
The Camry has 235 40 tires
@@naveenthemachine right but it’s an old product. I’ll bet the new one doesn’t get more than 225.
I’ve got 2 Toyotas and I think Toyota is loosing their minds nowadays, first the new Venza now this thing 😢
Toyotas losing their minds period. They’ve been absolutely screwing everything up left and right
The Camry though they absolutely nailed it. The venza and this no so much
The Venza is perfectly sensible as a softer-edged alternative to the RAV4 hybrid. It looks all right. This is not really designed for the US. The bigger question is whether it will be seen as a legitimate Crown in Japan, where the nameplate means something specific. It's very different from the frumpy, boxy old Crown. I think Toyota could have come up with something more like the Avalon (maybe AWD) and had it accepted as a Crown, but the back seat on this may be too tight. The senior (and old) government officials who get driven around in Crowns will appreciate the seat height.
There is no power adjusting steering wheel? Big surprise for a Crown. I am also surprised that the Crown doesn't have a Crown badge!
I'm not sure who this is supposed to be for. If you want space, you'll buy a highlander. If you want a premium Toyota, you'll buy a Lexus ES or RX.
Three of new Crown designs make perfect sense but they sent us the nonsensical fourth.
I like the two tone design
My dentist said I needed a crown. I was like, “I know, right?”
Looks like you're driving on Highway 431 in Franklin? You visited during some really nice weather, Alex! I live a little northwest of Nashville. Great video again, even though I'm not interested at all in a Toyota Crown, or any Toyota product, really. The Crown just seems like it's a lot of compromises, and that two-tone paint is just jarring!
Will they also be releasing a Throne?
Not digging it Alex
3:06 I agree, that rear trunk styling is especially ugly. The two-tone option just looks unfinished like Toyota forgot to paint those panels.
So, the idea is to show the world you are driving a rugged, almost off-road vehicle with practical cargo room while still driving a sedan.
I like the HVAC controls. :-) The rest seems to appeal to a very small group of people.
Alex - your friend is blink af! That was funny as hell when you said that. Lmao
Really makes no sense compared to a Highlander Platinum.
Having those two red LED's looking back at me from the top of the steering wheel would drive me crazy. Very distracting.
Clearly not a car for road trips. No space for driver and passenger to adjust seating. And why is the center console so wide, reduces passenger area, especially for us larger people.
Just might be the right vehicle for we boomers who have gone to cross overs for their higher seat height, for ease of ingress/egress. Many don't need the cargo abilities of the cross overs.
That is a fair point as long as the Crown's reduced headroom still accommodates the buyer.
This is a great car for about 8 years ago. There are rumors that Toyota is considering not proceeding with the SUV versions because they want to put "all hands" on their EVs. Please reconsider; a high quality, powerful SUV Hybrid would be a huge winner for at least 10 more years and would easily transition to an EV model eventually.
I concur. I just wish Toyota would 'name names' on who chose this Crown over the CUVs (or good looking sedan) that made their debut at the same launch event in Japan.
