Team Ben here! I have always seen the relationship between Devi and Paxton is that type of highschool guy you idealize A LOT, but then realize there is honestly not much in common between you two and end up realizing that you had a whole picture drawn out in your head based upon fantasies. Ben on the other hand feel more realistic, someone that not only has a lot in common with you but someone who you have great banter with (WHICH IS AMAZING). I am not against Devi dating Paxton as long as Ben is endgame.
mm disagree. I think their relationship is meant the shatter the fantasy but in a way that proves that the real version is better. Paxton and Devi had their first kiss when she was at her worst, both physically and socially, and he kissed her because she cut the facade she put up with him and got real. Devi is also the one who cheated on the hot popular jock, not the way around. Paxton is the only one in the triangle who has never cheated. Their heatwaves kiss was a direct parallel to the pilot where he shows up at her door to have sex with her and in her fantasy, he complimented her by comparing her to priyanka. In season 2, he showed up at her window to thank her for supporting him, she never found him hotter because his sentences were gramatically correct and they didn't have sex. But the scene was still hotter than her fantasy between the rain, the song, the lighting and the entire set-up, ergo reality surpassed the fantasy because their relationship got deeper.
I agree. Although I do think they’re changing up the popular guy fantasy trope because Paxton and Devi do get on really well, but I think they might be better as friends. I really loved their tutor/tuttee dynamic this season. But with Ben I feel like it’s so much easier for Devi to be herself, because he doesn’t call her out for being weird like Paxton has a couple times👍🏻

I will be alone on my island and say I'm still team Ben. I feel like Paxton/Devi have really great physical chemistry and moments. Their kiss to Heat Waves is amazing. It's all the relationship parts that give me a pause. The fact that she's so conscious around him, the fact that he lied and said he wasn't embarrassed and then in the same episode admits he is. Paxton has a very valid reason for being embarrassed, but the communication just isn't there. Plus I love the set-up for Ben/Devi in season 3 as it's clear they're not over each other. I do think Paxton and Devi can grow and become better in a relationship, I'm just not convinced yet based on what I've seen. I still love Paxton as a character though!

Paxton didn't maliciously lie because I don't think he was honest with himself. He has actively avoided talking about the cheating wayyy back when she started tutoring him and he pretended he was "cool" with it. Devi needed to force the conversation. She finally did when she got hurt in return. Paxton wasn't at any point embarrassed of Devi because then it's a leeway to insinuate he thinks he's above her when his reticence is because of her own betrayal. Plus, Ben's communication skills aren't that much better if this is a team Ben argument. He's in a picke now with his feelings for Devi because he was too busy being angry with her to notice she wanted him. Their entire storyline going in s3 is based on miscommunication.
Exactly! Paxton is a great character and had a great development this season but i feel like ben and devi are meant to be
I completely agree with all of this!! I love Paxton as a character and their chemistry is off the charts, but I feel like Ben and Devi gel better and it’s just so easy for them to be themselves around each other!☺️
Team Paxton! Crazy chemistry between Paxton and Devi. I think opposites attract makes for a better story I think. Devi and Ben are almost the same person. Devi makes Paxton better and Paxton calms Devi down. I hope they are endgame.

I’m Team Ben here, I mean just because of the chemistry. It’s it feels more real the relationship Ben and Devi, whereas Paxton and Devi’s relationship is more the high school idolize kinda situation. I more prefer Ben and Devi’a relationship because not does Ben push Devi to go above her limits, they also have more in common with each other and banter.
But all I’m saying is that I think Ben is more of the right choice for Devi, I would rather Paxton and Devi as friends
Omg I agree with you! I’m not a fan of love triangles either but I’m way to invested in this one 😅😍❤️ I don’t know what to feel! Season 3!!! Here’s my thought on both of them though. Paxton and Devi are great friends and they are a cute couple indeed when they’re alone but I feel like Devi had to always try and put on an act and change her self for Paxton especially throughout season 1. However with Ben she is her quirky, nerdy self and I can’t think of a moment where she wasn’t herself around Ben. She’s shown him his vulnerable side as well. Plus she was jealous of aneesa mainly because of Ben even if she didn’t admit it. ❤️

I don’t want Ben and Devi together cus after everything they did to keep aneesa at the school I think it would be horrible if they did that to her also I found Ben rlly annoying this season it’s only in the last episode I liked him but that’s not nearly enough for me considering the amount character development Paxton had this season i honestly think him and Devi would be rlly cute🤍 (also did Ben rlly stop liking aneesa just cus she lost the debate thing...? Surely not because of the debate things if so....😩😭 I think he never stopped liking Devi so when they had more moments in the last couple of episodes he was reminded why he liked her. Team Paxton. Paxton is better suited for Devi because he doesn't amplify her worst qualities. He's her chill pill when she needs it and he calls her out when she needs it without the jabs and the insults that make Team Ben so appealing somehow. I think they also have the superior romantic chemistry. Devi wasn't fawning over him anymore because she didn't think he was an option after he friendzoned her, and that allowed her not to see him with rose-colored glasses. And we got to see a more vulnerable Paxton with her. He relied on Devi and she proved she could be there for him because she believed in him. Not to mention, Ben is only interested in Devi *now* that Devi showed up with Paxton on her arm but he didn't see that Devi was willing to be with him when he decided he liked Aneesa better...
You could see in episode 8 that Ben still had feelings for Devi when they had that moment preparing for the mock trial without Aneesa there AND in this episode when he comforted her in the bathroom. You could see that his feelings never left. I can see points for both but I’m team Ben✌🏻

@@TheCornerverse But again, if his feelings changed and he realized he wanted Devi during the mock trial... she was still single. Aneesa is still his girlfriend at the end of s2 so he wasn't planning to act on said feelings. He cheated on his first girlfriend with Devi so if he dumps Aneesa and acts on his Devi feelings now that she's with Paxton, I feel like it shows his feelings aren't really genuine. It's about the chase. Anyway, glad you girls enjoyed s2!

Devi never made an effort to make it up to him though!! For Paxton she tutored him and they grew closer through that etc. but all that Devi did for Ben was get jealous when he tried to move on😂😂 I see the chemistry between Devi and Paxton but I’m team Ben for now🙌🏻

Im team ben from the start and still tem ben, reason being we only saw his relationship with his parent and how lonely he was but we haven't seen his character development, on the other hand in season two we saw for the most part paxton character development as well as his other side. So for me they did ben dirty in season two, hopefully i expect to see bens character development in season three. Another reason i ship bevi is that i feel like ben is more mature emotionally because of that he is kind of voice for devi in all the mess she creats, ben has been mending her relationship, in a way ben seems to be like devis perfect man like her father, but also ben needs emotional support very much which at this point he only gives to others but never recieves. Paxton on the other hand has recived a lot of support from both devi and his sister even his parents extend their support, by the way the only reason im liking paxton is because of his sister. And lastly we haven't seen anyone guiding ben to grow and become a better person like we saw with paxton when devi helped him with his studies, his sister helped him to like devi or even his uncle that helped him in doing his project. So it seems to me that paxton has enough support system to make him a better person. All i wish in next season is ben to grow and just having some support system guiding him, making him happy even if he doesnt end up with devi.
I love them both, I think I'll be happy who she stays with and I'll cry for the other haha, BUT I analyzed the situation very in depth with my best friend and we concluded that we are more with Paxton, because, even though they both have their strengths and weaknesses, Ben is the boy you need as a best friend, who advises you, motivates you, supports you and you can talk about anything with him, I feel like their relationship was of best friends who kiss, I am literally like that with my male friends, but with Paxton it is a more couple relationship, that connection and chemistry, they are a real couple 💞
Btw The two of them made mistakes, I don't think either has a better personality than the other, you can watch the series and write down the successes and errors of each one and surely Paxton has more successes...
I’ve been flip-flopping sides of the ship throughout the whole season so I’ll probably feel bad for whoever she ends up with😂 I am ending on Team Ben though, i think it’s also important in a relationship to have someone who motivates you and supports you. Paxton and Devi do have a lot of chemistry also, and I loved his development this season. But Ben has always been all in for Devi and she hasn’t had to force anything out of him, plus they’re so similar I feel like they’re just destined for each other😂

Team devi!! This season just made me realise Devi needs to work on herself.. after that therapist scene especially i think she needs to deal with her grief first. But I think they might make her choose someone next season😂
We’re both team Devi technically before any of the boys lol. She still has so much work she has to do on herself with her grief and becoming a better person before entering the stresses a relationship will add to her life🤞🏼

In long term, as a mature married woman, Paxton is it, Ben is too similar to Devi. In teenage, we think we should be with people we have the most common with, but the more we age, the chemistry Devi has with Paxton makes more sense.
I just don’t think Paxton and Devi would last into adult life, they have completely different interests. But I’m barely an adult so what do I know😂

Absolutely and exactly a Devi in school (an overachiever nerd who was only known to the teachers) , married to an exact Paxton (he was a high school hottie every girl wanted and he barely knew I existed, just he was academically better than Paxton and I didn't have to tutor him).... I didn't make so many weird drastic decisions but my husband and I are married for 2 years now and soon having a baby 👶.
@@TheCornerverse BTW, in school I dated a Ben too.... Academically, intellectually, and everything... He got me like no one else because we were extremely similar. By college we broke up exactly because we were too similar and there wasn't anything new about us to discover, it was like married to yourself for 50 years where you don't even like who you are. Being opposite but able to understand each other, even if we don't get everything, actually is the reason relationships work.

I mean, FACTS
My main problem with Ben and Devi would probably be the enemy to lovers trope which is quite problematic. I think it's toxic to think that name calling and then suddenly forgetting about all that is a good cornerstone for a healthy relationship. This is not to say I'm for Paxton. Just Ben and Devi isn't....it.
They are not soulmates and it's not banter at the beginning of season 1 between the two of them. The reason Ben became attached to Devi initially was that she showed basic human decency. And the reason for Ben's insecure attachement style is his parent's absence.
Devi would (as Dr. Ryan repeatedly points out) also benefit from dealing with her issues solo. I think it maybe it could work with Devi in a relationship, but not Ben. He can't work on his issues when the issue is that he up to this point always latches onto the next best girl. Regardless if they make a good couple or not or even assessing that. And no, both being competitive in school isn't necessarily a good thing.
In my opinion from all the characters Paxton is the one who deals with Devi's temper the best for example. He has kind of a soothing effect on her. That's something I would consider a pro in a relationship. Ben and Devi on the other hand would probably make each other go through the roof regularly. I'm thinking of S1E10 when Ben drives Devi to Malibu. Ben made Devi furious during the drive and vice versa.

I'm team Ben! Ben has been the best for Devi since season 1 and he is still the best person for her in season 2. Ben always brings her closer to her father. Devi was listening to her dad's phone message because of her strong feelings for Ben. And with Paxon she's still uses him as a distraction from the pain of losing her father. Paxon and Devi made out when she was mad at her mom about moving on from her father.
The only reason Devi is with Paxon rn is because Ben moved on with Aneesa (because he thought Devi didn't want him). Devi will be with Ben in the end and she will stay with him. Team Ben!

His character has a lot to grow as well. Just like Devi and Paxton. They are all very insecure and flawed teenagers.
Of course all the teenage girls watching the show are team Paxton, because he's the hot guy and that's all that matters to most of them.
