I'm a grown ass man and I have no shame admitting that the trolls movies are a secret love of mine, I don't even listen to music like this usually, I'm a country boy hahaha, but these movies are just amazingly well done
For what it's worth, Anna Kendrick performed on Broadway, was nominated for a Tony, and performed at the Kennedy Center for President Obama. She also had a hit song in the Top 10 on the Billboard charts with 'Cups'. I think that qualifies her to be a 'real singer' as much as Zoey Deschenal 😉
Thank you :) It always irks me a little when people say some actors aren't "real singers" because it's not what they're known for. Just as an example, Ariana Grande has a similar career track as Anna, but she chose to build her brand mainly on singing instead of acting and Anna went the other way. I don't think either of them is more of a real singer or actor than the other. They just chose to grow their careers in different areas.
When I saw the trailers for this movie, it was the first time I thought, "Yeah, I'm too old for this." But, now that I've seen it, I have to say, I love the song covers, and Branch is just such a great, relatable character. And some of the jokes and gags were actually pretty funny.
This movie is significantly better than it had a right to be. I can’t recall what it lost the Oscar for Animated that year but it should have won, the animation style in this is amazing. They look like felt and hair and the texture and trippy animation it’s superb.
It wasn't even nominated. 2016 Oscars had two big Disney movies (Zootopia which won and Moana), two stop motion animations (Kubo and the Two Stings, My life as courgette), and The Red Turtle which was a Studio Ghibli co-production with a French studio.
I love this film. It has a special place in my heart. I had not long started my counselling sessions and during a particularly difficult session we had talked about finding happiness in my life. She then suggested that I go and do something after the session to reward myself for opening up so much. I decided to go to the cinema. This film was the only one that day that looked like it would be fun... I smiled soooo much through the film, and then cried at the end when they talk about finding happiness within yourself! It matched so well with what I had been talking about, and it hit so hard, that I came out of the cinema feeling ten times lighter and smiling from ear to ear! Thus this film means something very special to me. I'm so glad you guys enjoyed this!
As a fan of Zooey Deschanel and her band She & Him, I was happy to hear that comment of the person voicing Bridget being a singer. I feel like Zooey is very underrated singing-wise but she actually has a very powerful voice.
I think this one actually did really well when it came out, esp the main song - I compare it to Pharrell's Happy where ppl just got tired of it really quickly. But it was good enough that Justin opened the Oscars that next year with this song lol. I'm surprised it didn't win an Oscar for original song actually but it did win a Grammy.
The funniest thing ...watching TryGuys...they had little girls pick their outfits and Zach said or sang "Hello darkness my old friend" One of the little girl said "Oh thats from Trolls" Zach just looks at the camera. So now we say that all the time. Anytime, someone bring up a song we quote that little girl.
I relate to this sm, every time I hear some song that was in Trolls (so practically every time) I quote this little girl... My friends are fed up with me
Trolls 3 will blow your minds. The siblings, the romance (including Branch and Poppy’s first kiss), the villains. They really know how to put together an amazing movie ❤
When this came out on video it was a huge hit with my 3 year old daughter. We danced to this soundtrack over and over and over again. They are some of my happiest memories with her when she was still little.

As a 32 year old male, I would have laughed at the idea of me watching people react to a kids movie, (mostly),but having a 4 year old and a 2 year old I get a pass. Great movie, great reaction. LOL. One of few children's movies I do enjoy. Even as a parent.

I'm right there with you Greg. First time I ever watched this, it was with my younger sister and I honestly thought I'd be rolling my eyes the whole time. But I ended up having a lot of fun with this movie. Thoroughly enjoyable
ya know i almost always cater my opinion on things to the most popular ones so i can fit in but with the majority of adults hating trolls i just can’t bring myself to. i love this movie so much (for reference i am 21 with no younger siblings or children and only ever watched it by myself - oftentimes in the dark)
This movie was such a surprise watching with my kids. To the point where they would want to want something and I would be like… how about Trolls again? But yeah 2 is a lot of fun as well.

Zooey sang that song “is it me you’re looking for”. She also did a good job singing “it’s cold outside” in the movie Elf. So, she can sing…obviously JT, Gwen Stefani, and Anna Kendrick can sing as well. The movie has a great soundtrack in my opinion. Also, Prince Gristle (Bergen) is voiced by “McLovin” from Superbad
Love this movie. Way better than expected. If you didn't had the chance to watch Storks that also came out in the same year, do yourself a favor and watch it. Its a damn good comedy

I remember when I heard they were making a movie about troll dolls scoffing at the ridiculousness of such a thing. How were they possibly going to make a good story out of that? They proved my (bleep) wrong. This movie is amazing! The songs, the jokes, the dark humor… all of it. It was on constant repeat in my house for at least 2 years. My whole family loves it. My daughter was a toddler at the time and she would dance her little booty off, lol. *side note: Roxy, I agree. Yes, PnB Last Wish is great, but Trolls is better. It’s a straight up good time with some great jams.

this has been a regular viewing in our household. My 2 young kids love it as do I at 50. quality feel good film as are the shorts and 2nd one. Never too old.
I went to see this movie with my dad when I was twelve or so. I didn’t like it that much, though it was too kiddy, but my dad loved it. When I rewatched it I was surprised by how much better it was when I got older. Lot of references I got as an adult.
Kids loved this movie or at least my naphews and nieces love them. I believe this came out the same year as Finding Dory, so I guess that's why it's not that popular back then.

I had to watch this with my neices and I was surprised how entertained I ended up being from the movie.
I watched this on an aeroplane some years ago and my favourite song from the movie is "Hair Up".
These movies are a trippy fever dream … especially the holiday special. I couldn’t imagine how it would be “elevated” as it’s trippy enough sober.

This is one of my favorite animated movies ever watched. I love Dreamworks. "Singing killed my grandma" that line is so sad and made me cry 😭😭😭😭😭.

I actually liked the message of trolls two, because it homes in on a message of differences that is more nuanced than other children’s films.
